President Saheb

Disturbed by the Texas Wesleyan University Residence Life Office’s communication of mandatory vacating of all residence halls during the Winter Break, Confident that the vacating of residence halls is not mandatory and merely an option per a statement given to the Student Government Association by Dennis Hall, the VP for Student Affairs, Dean of Students at the Board of Trustees meeting on November 10th, Concerned that the students may be under the false impression that they must vacate their rooms during the holidays, and Bearing in Mind the fact that many residents, including international and out-of-state students, may not have a place to live during the break if the halls are closed, Be it hereby resolved that the SGA: 1.

Compels the Texas Wesleyan University Residence Life Office to, a. Remove all propaganda that fails to highlight the students vacating from residence halls as an option to all students (See attachment), b. Immediately employ face-to-face and email communication to discredit any and all previous communication that was not indicative of the “optional component of the vacating from all residence halls; and

2.

Asks that the Residence Life Office, under the division of Student Affairs, take more measures in insuring transparency and accurate communication of information to students.
