America. Land of the free, home of the brave. Such a simple statement but one with so much meaning behind it. As Americans, we can easily get caught up in our day to day routine and sometimes lose sight on the true meaning. We live in the greatest country in the world, yet we tend to forget that our freedom was, by no means, free.

This Memorial Day, I challenge you to take a moment of reflection and gratitude. Reflection on the principles and values this country was founded on, the men and women who fought for this freedom and who made the ultimate sacrifice to make it possible. If you know someone who had a family member who never returned home, honor them. If you know active service members or veterans who served in the past, thank them. Without them we could never fully understand how blessed we are to live in the greatest country on earth.
