about I’m a designer ready to work in the real world. I want to make exciting things with excited people. I have a broad range of multidisciplinary experience and interests that inspire my concepts and designs. My heart lies with designing cars, but I’m always excited to explore different opportunities. When I’m not designing, my interests include cooking, music, reading tech blogs and drinking coffee.

In the future, we’ll experience driving on roads where cars can be driven both traditionally and autonomously. By using embedded lighting intelligently, in combination with clever use of data, cars will be able to visually communicate all sorts of useful information in a beautiful and exciting way.
Protective lacquer seals and protects the material and each of it’s woven layers.
sensors
Local temperature, light and capacitive sensors, making the skin of the car smarter.
oled lighting
Microscopic OLEDs allow for the entire body surface to light up as a dynamic display.
super-capacitor
Super-capacitor functionality improves battery eďŹƒciency and allows for faster charge times.
wiring carbon fibre
Wiring woven into the structure provides strength as well as connectivity. Carbon Fibre provides an extremely strong and lightweight structure.

making light work
In order to visualise the concept, I used a technique known as projection mapping to make it appear as though light was coming from the surface of the model.

the ultimate luxury toy. A project completed for a brief set by Bentley for a university group project. Our small design team of just three (Young Kwang Nam, Jihoon Seo and myself), managed to produce a genuinely new and compelling concept for Bentley, idealising a vehicle that could be used to feel the rush of raw speed out on desert planes. The whole design evokes the idea of automotive jewellery, a glass lozenge as beautiful as it is thrilling.

3D printed cycle helmet
fashionably functional I was involved in the design process for a winning Paul Smith competition entry by a group of Fashion Management students at The London College of Fashion. Their business plan involved selling the experience of having a customised helmet designed in a pop-up store, before being sent to be 3D printed and delivered to the customer at a later date.
folding motor cycle
Inspired by the transparent Nintendo Gameboy, this electric foldable motorcycle aims to take Land Rover brand values and apply them to a new product in an honest way. Foldable, magnetically driven wheels make the body particularly compact when folded, making it perfect for both urban and o-road duty.
interior harmony When we spend so much time in our cars, why aren’t they more harmonious spaces? The project looked at how to create an interior experience more akin to ying in business class, with simple, continuous surfaces giving a brighter, more relaxed space.

on average globally, people spend the equivalent of 17 days per year in their car.
ID14 My university Degree Show was in need of a fresh image and a carefully considered marketing campaign to get the right kind of attention from industry. I designed the branding, blog and yearbook from the ground up and managed a team of students in organising the week-long event. Feedback from visitors was excellent and the strong visual identity helped to create a real buzz in the run-up to the opening night.
Examples of work I completed for Entropy, a UK based mobile application developer. These storyboards were designed to make pitching an application idea to a client as simple and visually engaging as possible, whilst also relaying some important and sometimes complex functions.
