Area’s top high school seniors celebrated The Record

The pages of this special section are filled with the portraits and names of the highestachieving high school seniors in San Joaquin and Calaveras counties. Many are naturally gifted learners. Others excel through pure determination. All of them are hard workers who put in hours of study while finding balance with other,

non-academic areas of life. And all of them have more to their résumés and academic profiles than just good grades. Some are musicians. Others are athletes. And there are those who have worked on social justice issues or political campaigns. Yet, they have a sense that the world is bigger than they are but they can help determine its course. They are

looking not only beyond high school but beyond themselves. They are, truly, the pinnacle of success for the Class of 2018. This is the 23rd year The Record, working with the San Joaquin County Office of Education and University of the Pacific, has honored a select group of students from San Joaquin and Calaveras counties as its Pinnacle Award winners
