Hello and Welcome to the 2023 Residential Real Estate Council Leadership Team!
Our theme for 2023 is INSPIRE. Each of you are in a leadership role because someone, somewhere along the way INSPIRED you to step up, get involved and make a positive impact on the members, the Council and the industry. You now can INSPIRE others to do the same. As leaders, it starts with us.
When I began my real estate career in 2001 it was because of a local real estate broker seeing something in me that I didn’t see in myself. He INSPIRED me and mentored me to be the best REALTOR® I could possibly be and to help others achieve their dreams, too.
As a 2nd generation REALTOR® I knew the importance of earning the prestigious Certified Residential Specialist Designation. My Mother was a REALTOR® and CRS President in Nevada who INSPIRED me every day. I learned from her that if I truly wanted to succeed in real estate, I needed to earn my CRS Designation. I truly believe it changed the trajectory of my life and my career.
I started my CRS leadership journey in 2007 because someone INSPIRED me to get involved in a big way. I wouldn’t be your 2023 President without her. I encourage each of you to reach out to your members and ask them to get involved. Reach out to your fellow REALTORS® and encourage them to become a member and earn their CRS Designation. Help them understand the impact being a CRS can have in their lives and careers. You too can make a difference in someone’s life!
I look forward to walking this path with you. For the first time ever, you have a fully member-elected 2023 RRC leadership team and board of directors that are here to help you and INPSIRE you to do more, be more and receive more!
Let’s have an AMAZING 2023 and INSPIRE others!

OUR PURPOSE
Helping residential real estate agents become more successful
Many REALTORS® find it hard to set themselves apart and take their business to the next level. RRC provides the tools, education and resources to help REALTORS® be more successful.
OUR MEMBERS
Top-producing agents that value community and continuous learning
The Council has grown to 28,000 members from all across the globe. They are constant learners who thrive on staying cutting-edge in order to meet their clients’ needs and see their business grow. A large percent of the membership base has achieved the CRS Designation which is the most prestigious designation a real estate agent can achieve.
RRC HISTORY
1960
1960’s - the National Institute of Real Estate Brokers saw a need for education in specialized areas of brokerage and established commercial-investment and residential brokerage divisions
1970
1974 - the residential division began to discuss training for agents that could lead to a designation
1977 – plans fully realized with the establishment of the Certified Residential Specialist designation
1985 – the Institute established the Residential Sales Council with its own bylaws and governing powers
1986 – the Council opened its doors to two new groups of members: general members and affiliate members
1999 – the organization’s name was changed to Council of Residential Specialists
2017 – the organization’s name was changed to the Residential Real Estate Council in an effort to minimize the confusion between the organization’s name and the CRS Designation (which did not change)

THE BEST WAY TO GIVE & RECEIVE REFERRALS
FIND A CRS
One of the best benefits of RRC is the network of qualified and trained agents. Find, connect with, and refer to CRS Designees through the Find a CRS search tool. This tool is the only way to officially verify you are sending a referral to another CRS Designee.
The Find A CRS Mobile App is the fast and easy way to search for a Certified Residential Specialist referral. Whether someone is a current CRS, a Realtor®, or consumer in the market to buy or sell a home, finding a CRS Designee is made easy.
Searches can be done by city, neighborhood, or agent last name to find all CRS agents specializing in a specific area. Once an agent is found, they can be contacted easily through the app with call, text, or email.
FEATURES INCLUDE:
• Search by City, Neighborhood, State, or Last Name
• Sorting and filtering of results by criteria such as language spoken, specialization, certifications & designations
• Streamlined view of member profiles including photo, contact information and bio
• One tap to connect to a CRS through 3 methods of communication (phone call, email, or text message)
• Automatic offline access for searching when data connectivity is not available

ACHIEVING THE CRS DESIGNATION
HOW TO EARN THE CRS DESIGNATION
STEP 1
Become a member of the Residential Real Estate Council.
STEP 2
Review the two different paths and determine the path that best fits your experiences.
Path 1 (60/30/30):
60 Transactions OR $30M in volume over the last 5 years AND 30 credits of RRC Education
Path 2 (Pro Program):
At least 10 years as a licensed agent, 150 transactions total OR $1M in gross sales per year with at least 40 transactions, AND 16 credits of RRC Education
STEP 3
Complete the required education.
All education required to earn the CRS Designation must be provided by RRC. We do not accept outside credits or courses towards either path.
All courses that are to count towards the earning the CRS Designation must be graded, and exams must be completed for credit to count. For this reason, we encourage the completion of self-paced eLearning or in-person classroom courses.
STEP 4
Complete and submit the official CRS Designation Application that includes documentation of Path 1 or Path 2 requirements.
The official CRS Designation Application can be downloaded online. It can be completed electronically and submitted via email. This is the quickest and easiest way to formally apply.
Applications are processed on a rolling basis, and typically take at most 5-7 business days to process.
The Affidavit of Required Transactions is the most important document of the application. This must be filled out completely and submitted in order for your application to be considered valid.
