I am not a massive motorhead and so we decided like many others that our garage would not be wasted hosting a car but instead be converted into a pub with a full sized pool table. The garage however is not very well insulated although connected to the house and when we came to having some friends over after the winter lockdown we found mould all over our dartboard and this led us into looking at ways of stopping this, enter the Ebac 3850e 21 Litre Dehumidifier. The 3850e is Ebac’s most powerful dehumidifier ideal for large homes with up to 5 bedrooms not for being in a garage as It’s not the most portable and I would suggest looking at one of their smaller models if portability is required. However, the lack of mobility and size of the unit is completely apt for the pure power and quantity of water it can remove from the air. The dimensions of the machine are 42.x cm x 50.6 cm x 27.3 cm (WxHxD) and weighs in at 13kg and when comparing to other dehumidifiers reviewed in the past I really like the design with a modern curve. The 3850e has a 2.5 litre water tank which is located at the front so is easy to empty, we did find this needed to be emptied quite regularly. We also found the 3850e to be quite noisy, so you wouldn’t have this sitting in the living room while watching the TV, it does have a quiet function but that in turn slows down the extraction. If you are looking for a dehumidifier that will extract moisture out of the air from a large indoor area at a rapid rate you don’t need to look any further, the Ebac 3850e is so effective and quick it’s nice to see a product that does what it’s meant to do at its optimum.
