Chantel Sawyer (Atkins) (CEO/Owner) I started The Rhythmic Lounge in December 2010. At its start, it was a fairly simple website with the purpose of giving people a place to promote their talents and network. I had no idea that less than two years later it would transform into something much bigger. The website then underwent a complete revamp in July 2011, with a brand new look and the addition of many new features, including the creation of The Rhythmic Lounge Radio. Following suit, the radio started out as merely a 24/7 stream of hand-picked music submitted by talented musicians from the website but is now an integral part of the company. Listeners from all over the world tune in regularly to hear the wide variety of music, as well as the educational, musical and talk-radio shows that we now host. The radio’s success has only made me realize The Rhythmic Lounge could take me in new directions everyday rather than the other way around, which is why a digital magazine seemed like the next step. I’m incredibly proud to present to you hardworking artists and entertainers in this magazine and on the site, so enjoy! Be sure to go to www.therhythm iclounge.com to see the profiles for the great talent displayed in this issue and take a look at our new magazine site at http://w w w .trlm agazine.com Thanks for the support, and happy reading!

Graffiti Graffiti is a young artist from Germantown, Maryland on the come up! He first got into HipHop when he was seven years old, always listening to his dad make beats and songs and being inspired by his favorite artist’s Nas, Kendrick Lamar, Logic, J Cole and Joey Badass. He started practicing his craft at age eleven. By high school, his craft started to get better and better each day by reading the dictionary and free styling to beats to expand his vocabulary. “I always just wanted to make good music that the people would love and can listen to decades from now and bring back that Hip-Hop sound,” shares Graffiti. After high school, he decided it was time to step it up a notch with his music by staying in the studio day and night perfecting is music. “Music is very important to me because it helped me get through a lot in life and I want to give back with my music and help others who are going through tough situations, which is why I definitely take my time on my songs, making sure the main message is positive and inspiriting.” At the age of 19, Graffiti started learning how to mix and master and make beats from his dad and now his buzz is starting to grow. Graffiti is now working on his first debut album called “Reminisce,” as he continues to share his amazing lyricism and positive message through his sound.

The Rhythmic Lounge: Please introduce yourself and give the readers a brief background for those who aren’t familiar with you! Graffiti: For people that may not know me my name is Damyon Richardson but I go by the name Graffiti, and I'm from a small neighborhood called Middle brook in Germantown, Maryland.
TRL: Where did the name “Graffiti” come from? Graffiti: It's funny cause the name Graffiti came from the dictionary loll I was trying to find a stage name for myself and I picked the first letter I stumbled on in the dictionary and I landed on the G section, that's when I found the name Graffiti and I ran with it every since.
TRL: What effect has being from Maryland had on the creative path that you chose? Graffiti: Being from Maryland definitely has played a part in that cause I feel like the area I'm from you don't see many rappers in the game from there so I make sure my creativity is definitely dope when it comes to making music or videos.
TRL: Have you considered expanding your talent into other areas of music or entertainment? If so, which? Graffiti: Yes besides being an artist I'm also a producer I know how to make my own beats and mix and master my music so I always think about when I'm done with rapping in the future I'm goanna go into the producing part of music and I'm also learning how to direct music videos so directing is something that I want to go into more also as I get some more years under my belt in the rap game
TRL: Do you have any upcoming events that you’d like to mention to our readers? Graffiti: Just finished my album Reminisce; it's in stores now. But I have a show on November 4 2016 at Cafe 611 in Frederick MD, It's going to be hot so everyone needs to come out, they won't be disappointed. I'm also get ready for the A Team tour that will be happening very soon. I can't wait for that one it's going to be crazy.

MELLAH NIX I am a Digital/Mixed Media Artist. I come from Planit-X (which embodies my creativity). I was born of Haitian, African-Bantu, Chippewa and Irish Ancestry. I came into physical form on 4-2-81, in Colombus, OH. I gravitated towards music and art at an early age. Music, especially, because of my grandfather, who was a "blue's man" from Sunflower, MS.I started sketching and weaving in school, and I remember often taking that home with me. My mom gave me the affectionate epithet of "Picasso, " she said, "Your world is your own, let people see what you see." Tragically, my stepfather murdered her when I was 7. After that my siblings and I were taken in by my grandparents, and thus, the creativity was allowed to spill forth in Chicago, where I finally grew up. Artistically, I am heavily influenced by Anime, Erotic Film Actresses, and old rock band album covers, as well as Lloyd Kaufman, 80's music, like Blondie, the blues, Das Racist - virtually anything that isn't blasting from anyone's car. It has also been told to me that my art is "TRIPPY," and yes, each piece has something behind it, even its own life. I have also been a resident artist at Art Studio Miami for the past five years and have recently been asked to do a piece on the northern-exposure of the roof of L.M.N.T (a local art gallery) visible to passersby on the I195 highway. I have also worked with the artist Kehinde Wiley on his "Faux Real" exhibition, and with the gallery Deitch Projects on the piece titled, "Morfene," which was exhibited in the Art in America Magazine 2004, April issue.

Larry Luve
Born on August 31, 1974 and raised in a small town in Georgia called Millen which is the county of Jenkins that hold a population of about 3,492 people. I’m known to friends and family as Larry “Luve” but my biological name is Larry Wright Jr. I grew up in poverty, which was a struggle for me because I was surrounded by the activities of the street life. There were drugs, prostitution, violence, and alcohol bootlegging etc. around me. Although I live in this type of environment, I refused to become a product of my environment so I found other ways to entertainment myself. I began writing poetry at the age of 8 years old because I didn’t have a lot of material things growing up which allowed me to be creative and just write about the things going on around me. I still can remember winning 1st place in a poetry contest in elementary school in which I wrote about “the Ghetto”. I used poetry and music to escape from the madness that surrounded me at that time. My love for music began to grow as I got older and can still remember my very first tape that was giving to me by my mother. She bought me a Run D.M.C. cassette tape for Christmas and a boom box that I couldn’t even carry. I would walk around with my Kangoo hat on listening to “walk this way” and my favorite “Run’s House” all day long. I also was a major fan of Melle Mel, 2 Live Crew, Slick Rick, KRS One, Kilo, Too Short, Mc. Shy D, Africa Bambaataa, and more. I then began to transform my poetry into rap lyrics and would use instrumentals from artists to create my own songs. As a teenager, I met up with a childhood friend of mine by the name of Earl B.K.A. “Prince Magnetic” who was at the time our hometown D.J. Believe me when I say that this guy owned every 12inch album that was on the market back in the late 80’s such as “The Get Fresh Crew” and “Eric B/rakim” I Ant No Joke”. We would be in his room making and looping beats from some of the best in the rap game. “Prince” had a homemade studio with two turntables, a mixer, an equalizer, one big speaker, and an amp and let’s just say that his mom use to hate to see me come because she knew it was about to be noisy. We formed a rap label called Mini Stiles Records in which we would copyright our songs by mailing them to ourselves so it would have the stamp on it. We would go around having M.C. battles and talent shows for the local talent in our town. After graduating in 1994 from Jenkins County High school in my hometown of Millen Ga, I wanted to learn more about music so I attended the Art Institute of Atlanta, Ga. It was a major step toward pursuing my lifelong dream to become an M.C. I learned hands-on-training at (AIA) and the knowledge/skills I would need to know in the music industry. Being in Atlanta at that time in the mid 90’s was great for me because it was known for being one of the hottest cities around for music. There were companies such as So-So Def, La face, Rowdy, and Def Jam South etc. After completing my studies at (AIA), I moved back home where years later I committed a felony, which landed me in prison for 10 years back in 2002. I was released in 2012 and from then to now I haven’t looked back since. I attended this online college and graduated on July 05, 2015 with an associate’s degree in science, and continuing for a Bachelor degree in business. I feel like “I already know everything about the street life why not learn about something that I don’t know.” I am now currently an intern at Lg Music Publishing Company under the CEO/Founder Ms. Renita Holyfield who has not only been a mentor of mine but also a true friend. All I ever wanted to do was become an M.C. and be recognized for my lyrical gift. I could care less about fame; all I want is for people to remember my name. Respect!

God's Front Line Souljahs
(GFLS), is a group of 4 men (K.A., Ezi, Marq Muziq, & Ice Berg 517), who came together from 4 different cities all located in Ohio. Using their unique and Godgiven gifts in music, GFLS has come together as a unit to profess loudly the Good News of Jesus Christ in today's hip hop. Their famous slogan, "You're rockin' wit the Frontline Movement!", has become a popular saying, catching thousands of ears as it actually represents their ministry called "The Frontline Movement". GFLS dedicates their music, ministry & lives to the Most High, devoted to use their musical gifts to promote the gospel of the Jesus Christ in the music industry.
The Rhythmic Lounge: Please introduce your group and give the readers a brief background for those who aren’t familiar with you! GFLS: God’s Frontline Souljahs (GFLS), was founded 2008 by K.A. and E-zi. It started as a group till 2009, when K.A. adapted the name by adding his artist name becoming known as, K.A. (G.F.L.S.) In 2015, K.A. reunited back with E-zi and in 2016 added, Marq Muziq and Iceberg 517. The unit is a full force for the kingdom of God and we are ready for war. If our God is for us, then who could ever stop us. If our God is with us, what could stand against?
The Rhythmic Lounge: What exactly is the “Frontline Movement”? GFLS: The Frontline Movement is standing firm and unashamed for God as the Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 16:13 that we need to "Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong." We unapologetically profess the love for Christ and are unafraid to go to war with the enemy for Him. We are the new breed of soldiers that takes the church to the streets. It makes no sense, for us as the body if Christ, to profess Christ to other believers and not to the world. How can the lost be saved if we only preaching and teaching the word of God in a building full of believers. It’s our job to take the gospel to the streets and our communities as Jesus instructed us to go into the world make disciples. And that's what we have come together to do. This is more than music for us; this is our life and lifestyle. This is our ministry. We want to bring hope to the world. We speak life. We speak truth. We speak and promote Christ. We are at war and people can't see that because the world has blinded them from the truth by continuing to accept the lies that are fed to them, brainwashing our children and loved ones through mass media to think that life is all about pretty women, expensive cars, big houses and so forth which is a distraction to keep you from seeing the bigger picture and the plans that God has intended for everyone. GFLS and The Frontline Movement's goal is to open the eyes of those who have lost their way because of the many distractions in life that has kept them from knowing the truth. The devil is building his kingdom, but we are going to BREAK IT DOWN. This is our Call of Duty.
The Rhythmic Lounge: How has the state of Ohio as a whole, embraced your group and overall style of music? GFLS: Ohio embraces the movement but we are received better in cities other than our birthplaces- Columbus, Lancaster, Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio. We chalk this to the adage, "A prophet is not accepted in his hometown.” Even Jesus wasn't accepted by his hometown. Some don’t understand our methods, but we know where our hearts are moving us. We tend to keep our focus on bringing people to God, building a personal relationship with God and to be a positive impact to our fans, friends and family. We want to inspire our fans, viewers and listeners to fight the good fight and to know that they are not alone in this spiritual warfare. This is a very serious matter and we have dedicated our lives and our music to serve God and to go to battle with the devil and his angels FEARLESSLY. WE are unashamed and we going to show it. Frontline! TEAM JESUS!
The Rhythmic Lounge: Although you are clearly a group, there are 4 individuals with individual ideas, talents and personalities. How do you guys bring your differences together in order to create 1 cohesive unit with your music? GFLS: By understanding we are stronger as one. Everyone has a voice and everyone brings value to the table. We pray about our decision and move as God directs us as a whole. We are a unit and we are a team of men who sees the bigger picture that's beyond our differences. We bring our ideas together to make a track 4x better than what it could be with just one person's idea. We are in this together. No soldier gets left behind. GFLS is a family and we stand firm in what we believe in. We have come together to show the world unity and love, that's what we are called to do. We look past our flaws, work on our weaknesses as we use that weakness to give us strength then take advantage of our strengths and focus on building God's kingdom. We do this for HIS glory and not our own. We just waiting for our chance to make a difference in peoples lives, not only through the music, but as well as sharing our life experiences with the world by telling our testimonies and how we overcome the odds that are against us. We are just vessels and instruments that God uses to get His work done.
The Rhythmic Lounge: Do you have any upcoming events that you’d like to mention to our readers? GFLS: As of right now, we have no upcoming events yet as we are preparing our projects for 2017. But be on the lookout for videos and new music from GFLS as well as our individual projects. We all have Soundcloud, Instagram, FB, Snapchat, Twitter, YouTube, Google Play, Reverbnation and other websites, individually. Our group have Twitter: @gfls413; Instagram: @gfls413; Snapchat: @GFLS 413. We also have a GFLS page on Reverbnation and a few other sites, but they are under construction. Also the OFFICIAL GFLS website will be up and running by Spring 2017. For booking, you can email us at thefrontlinemovement@gmail.com. To our readers, viewers and listeners, if you didn't know then, you know now..."YOU ROCKIN WIT THE FRONTLINE MOVEMENT!" #Frontline #teamJesus!
VOICE& & I grew up in poverty and would write poems to ease my mind; I always read them back on the public bus while I was commuting to and from school. I would over-hear the beats from people’s headphones and would start timing my poems to their metronomes. Before I knew it my poems had become songs and I would share them online and my songs started to spark curiosity as I was gaining thousands of views on my songs as an unknown artist. I got put on my first tour to start performing in August 2016 at which point I have also started work on my first solo mixtape. The song "SACRIFICE" I have on my profile is a sneak peek at the mixtape. It is currently the only released song from the mixtape project. The song "NO ESCAPE" is one of my trademark tracks because of the emotional feedback from my audience after performing it; it is based on a true story and is raising awareness for Domestic Violence Survivors. As an artist it is my job to help change the world even if its one person at a time one show at a time. If you are seeking immediate assistance regarding Domestic Violence the 24/7 phone hotline is 1-800-799-7233 I am Voice. VICTORIOUS OBLIGATIONS INSIDE THE CHOSEN ENTITY We are #VoiceNation
The Rhythmic Lounge: Please introduce yourself and give the readers a brief background for those who aren’t familiar with you! Voice: My name is Voice, Victorious Obligations Inside the Chosen Entity (Zachary Vick). I start my story off by witnessing my brother getting stabbed in 2008 and I had to go to school the next day and act like everything was fine. I ended up hiding in the locker room during gym class and turned my mp3 all the way up and threw it at the wall. The headphones got caught on my hoodie and fell to my feet. Still hearing the beat I sank to the floor and began to write about how I felt and only being able to hear the beat, it naturally evolved into a song. That very night when I got home I went to the public library to download a beat onto the mp3 player and recorded the entire thing on it. All up until I lost my mp3 player I would play that song on repeat. It was my sanctuary and purest source of inspiration I had growing up and developing into the artist I am today.
The Rhythmic Lounge: What is your creative process for songwriting currently? Do you still start with the creation of a poem? Voice: Nowadays my creative process revolves around a full pot of coffee and a boom-pat beat turned up so loud it drowns out my entire environment. I really don't like writing if the beat isn't deafening. The poetry behind the music comes naturally now and I don't have to put extra effort into making it seem like a piece of art, I focus more on every individual word am using to ensure I am projecting exactly what I'm intending to.
The Rhythmic Lounge: Your song “No Escape” deals with the very serious topic of domestic violence. What made you create such a powerful track? Voice: I received a message from a loyal #VoiceNation member one day asking if I had ever created a song about Domestic Violence because she was having a really rough time dealing with her experiences. I reluctantly told her I had never made a song like that, but I promised her that I would help her in any way I could if she would give me the time. About an hour went by and I had written up both verses to the song and called her on the phone so she could be the first to hear it. While on the phone she started crying and couldn't stop telling me how thankful she was that a song like that now existed just for her and based on her true story. I never had the intention of raising awareness for Domestic Violence but as an artist it is my duty to help out in any way I can. I am glad that encounter happened for many reasons but most notably is the live performance side, every show I have ever done and performed "No Escape" at has left the crowd with tears in their eyes. It's moving to know that even as a single person you can still make a difference.
The Rhythmic Lounge: Do you have any news or upcoming events that you’d like to mention to our readers? Voice: I just want #VoiceNation to know how much I love their support and that without it I would be nothing. I have been told my music is the reason some people are still here today and those people need to know the fact that they are here is the only reason I am here as well. I look forward to networking with many more talented artists in the future and I am a very open and easy to approach person. Go to my website and click any social media logo and send me a message and I'll respond ASAP, whether it's music, acting, modeling, or just community relations I will help out in any way I can. Prosper
NY's own P. Muna, aka Prosper, has been making music for a while but really been making waves thanks to his stint on MTV's popular, "Are You The One" reality/dating show. We caught up with the rising star to talk about his appearance on TV, how he got into music, and if he was portrayed accurately on TV!
Essince (TRL): How did you get cast on AYTO (MTV's Are You The One)? Prosper: My publicist recommended that I try out for the show, so I applied! I then thought, "well it is MTV and I do suck at relationships haha"
Essince (TRL): Do you watch the show? Do you think you're accurately portrayed? Prosper: I do watch the show! I'm low-key addicted like everyone else! I love watching me on film. It's one thing shooting the show, but another when you know the clips are about to chopped up into your storyline and character and fed to the world. It's kind of nerve-racking, yet I am always anxious for Mondays! I am portrayed perfect. That is truly who I am. Day before filming started, the producers stressed, "Be yourself, Be Yourself, Be yourself, or it'll come off funny on camera if you go back and forth within yourself".... That was all I needed.
Essince (TRL): When did you start making music? Prosper: I've always rapped ever since I could remember. I started making music when I was like 7 years old. I remember having a tape recorder, and writing and recording raps over instrumentals! The Lox, Biggie, 2pac, Nas, Will Smith, Eminem, DMX. But it wasn't until I was about 11, when my little brother's father gave me "Ne-Yo" first album, "In My Own Words", I discovered the art of song writing and truly making music in a style in could relate to so well. Mainly influenced by HIP-HOP and R&B's Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Mary J, 112, Jodeci, Ne-Yo 's artistry really spoke to my soul!
Essince (TRL): Has being on the show helped with exposure for your music? Prosper: Most definitely, I was aware that MTV's platform is humongous, even though I feel like MTV has shied away from the music, but I'm hear to take that back!
Essince (TRL): What can we expect from you this year? Prosper: God willing, a year from now I will be international! Full Time Music Artist! Major Key! I have big dreams and set my goals very high! Lord knows.
Essince (TRL): Where can fans get in touch with you online? Prosper: All my social handles are the same on IG, Twitter, Snapchat, Periscope, Vine: @IAMPMUNA ! Soundcloud: P. Muna. Also my recent album, "Live Long & Prosper" is on iTunes, Spotify, & Google Play. Much love!!

Luca Brassy New York For the past 13 years, Luca Brassy, born and raised in Upstate NY, has been building a reputation in the Tri-State area as one of the hottest emcees in the region. His journey really started in entertainment through professional wrestling at age 13. By the time he turned 16, Luca was running his own professional wrestling training center (24/7 Wrestling Productions LLC) in Upstate NY. Due to things out of his own control, 24/7 closed its doors in the summer of 2003. From there, Brassy had a hard time finding himself again until he discovered his love for writing and music in 2004. In October 2004, he met Jgreen Moneytalkz who has been producing his music ever since. Luca Brassy has performed at numerous cities and states including Schenectady, Albany, Glens Falls, Syracuse, Amsterdam, Rochester, Pittsfield, Pittsburgh, Massachusetts, Buffalo, Newport Rhode Island, Brooklyn, Bronx NY, Manhattan, Staten Island, Ardmore PA, Uniontown Alabama, Birmingham, Atlanta GA, Marshall NC, and Memphis TN among others and has been building a name for himself based on his politically and socially oriented music. Among other great accolades, he has opened for several well-known emcees such as Rakim and Lil Kim. Brassy is now moving in a new direction with his music and putting his old school lyrical mentality to use with his club vibe which has brought him a whole new fan base as well as a different kind of recognition. Brassy’s first mixtape was released in 2006 titled “The Project: Stereotyped”, and his first full-length album “The Narration: The Heart of a Champion” in 2010. A remake of that album was released Through Tate Music Group in 2014 titled simply “The Heart of a Champion.” Luca was recently signed to Sony RED where he released 2 singles “Like That” and “3000” (produced by Younglord). With this, he continues to be active around his own community as well as others. He continues to grind and make new contacts in radio, magazine, film, blogs, etc. He most recently was signed to CNY Mode modeling agency based in Syracuse NY! In music, his newest single “Lose Your Mind” was recorded in Los Angeles with the music video being shot in ATL. Brassy stays on the grind and is always active in his music and all business endeavors. Stay tuned for the latest on Luca Brassy! POW!!! The Rhythmic Lounge: Please introduce yourself and give the readers a brief background for those who aren’t familiar with you! Luca Brassy: Luca Brassy is the name and I love the music and entertainment industry. I started in music with producer J Green in upstate NY in 2004 and have been working with him ever since. As a performer, I've been all over the country from Alabama to California to New York to Texas, plus more and have performed at some of the largest music events in the country. I'm also a model signed with CNY Mode in Syracuse NY and love to be active in all forms of entertainment! TRL: You became an entrepreneur at a very young age, and although not directly related, how did the creation of your professional wrestling training center prepare you for your career in music and entertainment? I started in professional wrestling at age 13 and left the business complete at age 19. There were many reasons as to why I was forced to walk away, but that's a whole other story. What wrestling did for me as a performer through, was get me in front of cameras and people at a very young age, which I see now as practice time I had put in. It also taught me the value of money, the expectation of mutual respect, and that some people will do whatever they can to try to make sure you won't succeed. You need to keep moving no matter what and ignore the naysayers. TRL: What has been your biggest career achievement thus far? My biggest achievements in professional wrestling were having the privilege to wrestle names such as Doink the Clown, Tony Atlas, and Tony Mamaluke among others. In music I was able to open for Rakim and Lil Kim as well as go on two tours! I was also signed to Sony RED and released two singles "3000" and "Like That", available on iTunes ;). TRL: What caused you to make a musical change to more of a “club” sound? How do you feel that decision has played out so far? I decided to get into the club/EDM genre for several reasons. First and foremost, I love it. Second, I was making a completely different kind of music for a long time. I realized after a performance in upstate NY that I wasn't much different from any of the other artists on the show that night. It's a hard reality when you realize there's nothing special about what you're doing. The things that most Indy hip-hop artists do are all part of a dying breed and music is moving in a new direction. The sound I developed for myself is unique and unique is always good. I've gotten a lot farther doing what i do now as opposed to what I was doing before. And it's a lot more fun! No one wants to be depressed so I try to make music anyone can listen to and appreciate. TRL: What do we have to look forward to from you in the near future? I have a lot of new things coming soon. I am negotiating a couple new deals for modeling a few new clothing lines as well as working out a deal to push my music out even further than what we are currently doing! And it's all as an Indy artist who just grinds. Expect a huge splash from Luca Brassy in the near future and I just want to say to all of you...always believe. Kevin Resnover
Kevin has been playing the bass guitar since he was 13 years old, and now as a 35 year-old musician, his resume continues to grow as he adds other genres of music to create a melodic future for himself. With gospel roots, Resnover started playing the bass guitar for his church youth choir as a teenager. In sixth grade, he was already playing cello in the school orchestra and moved on to play the upright bass in the high school jazz ensemble. Upon high school graduation, he continued with his gospel beginnings and played the bass guitar at church in his hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. While playing at church, Kevin became one of the well-known bass players in the city's gospel circuit, with opportunities to back artists such as the late Andre Crouch, Bishop Paul Morton, Dorinda Clark, Marvin Sapp, and Detrick Hatton. A fan of Chic Corea, Robert Glasper, Doobie Powell, Kevin enjoys the neo-soul movement and jazz, which are evident in his latest project, Healing Virtues. Releasing his first album in 2014, Kevin put together a stylish Christmas album remixing a few holiday favorites and overlaying his bass playing with music he arranged and produced. With an immediate family blessed with musical talent, Kevin describes his bass playing as "eclectic" and thinks of himself as a musical outsider. These days, the Indy native enjoys playing with his cover band out of Austin, Texas. As a musical epicenter, Austin has afforded him opportunities to play on the famed 6th street, as well as weddings and private events in the capitol city. He has made his home in San Antonio, Texas since leaving Berklee College of Music in 2010 and has enjoyed opening for old school singers and musicians like Keith Sweat, the Ojays, and Full Force in the home of the Alamo. With the strong South Texas and Hispanic heritage in San Antonio, Kevin has been able to mix his bass playlist with country, Cuban jazz, R&B, and looks forward to an opportunity to add a Tejano band to his growing resume. ! ! www.kevinbassmusic.com www.facebook.com/kevin.resnover.1 twitter.com/ResnoverKevin www.instagram.com/kresnover
The Rhythmic Lounge: Please introduce yourself and give the readers a brief background for those who aren’t familiar with you! Kevin Resnover: I'm a bassist, composer, arranger and an upcoming artist who enjoys creating original tunes. I also work with cover bands playing gospel, soul, jazz, Latin and country music.
TRL: What was the inspiration behind your album "Healing Virtues?" KR: I'm someone who has dealt with addiction and depression, which really took a toll on me for along time. I named this project healing virtues because creating the music was one of the only things that kept me going a lot of times. There have been moments when I felt like scraping the entire album but when I would sit back and listen to my songs, I could feel the passion and inspiration that helped me make the music! Others who have heard my songs will sometimes ask,"man what where you going through when you made these songs? "They have so much emotion!" TRL: There is always a lesson to be learned, especially in the world of entertainment! What do you consider to be your biggest mistake thus far, and what lesson did you learn from it? KR: I think my biggest mistake has been quitting people and groups too soon. I've burned some bridges, neglected musical relationships by not keeping in touch, and the biggest mistake of all has been not always believing in myself! I've learned that it's ok to admit it when you've messed up with someone. You can usually get meaningful relationships back. Lastly, if no one believes in you, you believe because there's always someone out there that's needs the blessing of your God given talent! TRL: What has been your most embarrassing moment on stage? KR: My most embarrassing moment on stage was when I agreed to play backup bass for an upcoming artist named Lady Jaguar. I was called for the gig at the last minute so I had very little time to learn the music. Long story short, she didn't like my performance, I got cussed out on stage in front of a packed club and then got stiffed on the payment! TRL: Are there any upcoming events or projects that you’d like to mention? KR: Yes I would like readers to know that if you enjoy nice Jazz, Soul, Neo soul, and Experimental music then come check me out on www.Kevinbassmusic.com You can download my new single, Coincidence, free and also take a listen to my new album, Healing Virtues. I also have a Christmas album available. It’s called "Carols of the Bass."

HENNA-C DA 5th - Supaman by Patrick Ross
Rating: ★
★ ★ 1/2
! This flash single “Supaman” is a taste from the Production of Bennie Patterson featuring HENNA-C DA 5TH a native of “Naptown” Indianapolis, Indiana. As the story goes at a tender age he started rapping while in elementary school. In middle school he began putting pen to paper and writing about his life and situations he had heard about in the hood. He became more serious about his rap music career while in high school and playing football...his other love and passion. After high school he put together a group with co-worker turned manager Lucky called “Da Kamity.”! Catching the attention and ear of producer D.Wil and persuaded to relocate to Los Angeles, CA., hitting the ground running once in California recording at Paramount, Interscope, and Devonshire & Edmonds studios, making the performance rounds at various clubs and venues. He has just completed recording his debut album “The Young and the Breathless” with tracks produced by D.Wil, Bennie Patterson, and other producers of HENNA-C’s signature sound. But here we are only going to review the single “Supaman” which is a high energy big band anthem themed track showcasing a pyrotechnic arrangement of synthesizer pads and horn stabs. HENNA-C’s vocals cut through never the less to deliver his tale of super human prowess and skills on the mic with his flow as “Supaman.” Sure to be in the rotation and in the clubs, this artist is definitely up and coming.
