Sage Student Life Executive Summary This Annual Report is meant to share with you the 2014-2015 accomplishments of The Sage Colleges’ Student Life Division. Using both direct and indirect assessment measures, we hope to demonstrate how students at Sage have benefited from a rich extracurricular experience flush with learning, leadership, and fun! This report allows us to reflect upon what we have done well and to welcome the challenges and opportunities to do better. As Student Life continues to evolve and our services become increasingly linked to learning both in and out of the classroom, we will continue to work to ensure the growth and satisfaction of our students.

Our role is to provide paths and support for their involvement, development, and success. With a number of services and functions, the Dean of Students serves as a first stop for students when managing issues or concerns, and for faculty & administrators needing to assist students in need.

Commuter Events Increased the number of commuter-specific events from three in the Fall 2014 semester to 11 in the Spring 2015 semester.

The mission of the Office of Student Activities is to create a well-rounded college experience through a full range of activities that are both recreational and co-curricular. The office evaluates, plans, and develops goals for fostering student involvement and service improvements. Our Mission The Dean of Students Office provides programs, services, opportunities, and environments to engage students in educationally purposeful experiences to increase student engagement and prepare students to be successful leaders and responsible citizens.

Sage Loop Nearly 900 members of the Sage community have logged onto Sage Loop, our social and co-curricular networking software, and nearly 500 have become members of a club or organization.
Transfer Orientation Transfer Orientation is helping to successfully engage RSC Students; the average GPA of new transfer students who attended the August orientation is 3.4. The average GPA of new transfer students who did not attend orientation is 2.9.

2014–2015 Points of Pride Alternative Spring Break Experience Twelve Russell Sage College students participated in a service trip to New Orleans. The Habitat for Humanity Club raised over $4,000 to support the costs of this trip.
Participation in RSC Traditions Overall participation in the Russell Sage College traditions including Class Dinners, Banner Night and Rally events increased by 13 percent.
Sexual Violence Awareness Month Singer-songwriter Chrisie Santoni facilitated a “Music with a Message” program for Sexual Violence Awareness Month. Students wrote and recorded a song that will be used during the Sexual Violence orientation session.

optimal level of health & wellness Our Mission The goal of the Wellness Center is to assist all Sage students in reaching their optimal level of health and wellness through direct treatment and prevention including medical care, counseling services, nutrition advice and guidance, peer education and other health promotion outreach programming. Most services are free for all Sage students.

The mission of The Sage Colleges’ Office of Residence Life is to enhance the educational mission of the College through the provision of a safe, healthy and comfortable living environment for all residential students. This experience includes fostering and appreciating diverse cultures and lifestyles, and teaching students the importance and role of community living and standards and personal responsibility. Other functions include: campus mailbox distribution, meal plan assignments and changes, room assignments, and the oversight of Resident Assistants.
