Where to find inspiration

There are hundreds of books on the subject of drawing and painting, a vast array of materials to choose from and more ‘styles’ of working than you can ever imagine. My advice would be to look around, browse the internet, and become acquainted with other artists’ work. When you find a style that you really like or an artist whose work you admire, look into that genre of work to discover more artists you may like. Some may well have a book about how they work or they might have an informative blog or website. Whatever the source, try putting into practice what they teach. That will take effort and perseverance but the results will be worth it. Remember … Rome wasn’t built in a day!
