scene Anniversary Issue May 2008

Editorial

In 19th April 2007, 1 year ago, the first issue of the Scene was released. 11th March 2008, Warez-BB celebrated its 3rd anniversary. To commemorate these special moments in warez-bb history, the press team releases this special yearbook. The special anniversary issue of the scene comprises of articles and interviews carefully chosen based on member preferences. It includes articles, which cover all major events, which have taken place over the past one year. Additionally, the issue contains interviews with all warez-bb administrators. A list of popular articles by PC, which explain the working of warez and the scene, has been included with this release. Also included is an article about the history of Wadio, which is bound to keep everybody excited. This is a move to provide people with valuable information about warez-bb and help the new members to understand clearly about the state of the site, by recognizing the events from warez-bb history. It’s hoped that members read this issue to know the legacy of warez-bb and explore the possibilities and options that lie ahead. The press team has made many contributions to warez-bb. Most press team staff are now a part of the moderator’s group on the forum. The cohesion and teamwork on the press team has enabled people to show their dedication, ethics and earn respect from the community. Every member on the press team will admit that he/she had gained a lot by working in this team. I can tell you that I’d gained immensely by working on this team and I ascribe my success and position to the press team. As a magazine staff, I would like every member to read and enjoy this issue. A large amount of time and hard work went into the making of this issue and we hope that we’ve done our very best to make you feel satisfied, when you read the subsequent pages. Thanks to every warez-bb member for lending us your support, which has motivated us to carry on every day and overcome odds that we encounter.

Staff Comments u o y l o o C Our press team has been doing one of the hardest tasks of working towards a

monthly dead line at each release. It takes careful coordination and hard work to release a magazine and at times it can be frustrating and rewarding. I want to thank everyone in the press team for their hardwork they have contributed towards the community and hope they continue to do so.

C PThe team press, during the months, has been bringing a real PLUS to the

community, submerging us with many articles more interesting one after the others. Innovation is high leveled and reading, a daily pleasure; thanks to the whole team, but also the readers, more or less faithful who make proud all small but strong ants workers who feast us every month with quality!

a n u T t Ho A large congrats and thank you to all members (Past and present) of the

press team. Every member of the team has contributed something, and each should be proud for what they have done - I believe we were the first community of it's kind to present an electronic magazine. Easily the most notable thing about the magazine is the way it has improved with each edition, giving this community a voice over the world wide web.

rill ThCongratulations and thank you to all of those who have contributed to the creation and evolution of our Magazine. Here's to many more issues to come.:D

yer Sla"The Scene", two words that mean a lot to me. Nurtured this kid since its inception

in April last year with the help of my team members. And today "The Scene" has grown in stature to the extent that was never imaginable when we started it. It was a congregation of efforts from individuals with inexperienced minds but having a fire inside to make it happen in spite of all the odds they faced. "The Scene" has not only given us an identity and respect on the forum but also a lot in our real life as well. Wherever I go, its a moment of proud when I mention this achievement which is commended by the people who read it. I hope we continue with this ongoing success story and make it even better in the time to come with the help of our readers' valuable feedback. Feedback for us is just like manure for a plant to make it grow even better and flourish in the best possible manner. Its a concerted effort by the Press Team as a whole that has made "The Scene" reach where it is today. Your Suggestions, Our Efforts. Lets make it an everlasting bond. Regards, Slayer

I have been privileged to have been part of the team that has produced for you a quality magazine. I say team as that is what we are. The bonds that exist between us have been forged in the very depths of our souls. I was going to write here to say how awesome this magazine is, but instead I wish to thank all member's of the Press Team, past and present for being there for me and for each other. We have all come a long way and we have learned things we never thought we would know, or even cared to know. It has been an epic roller coaster that has become the microcosm of life itself and one I will always remember with a smile on my face. So thanks guys for making this team what it is today.

I still remember the day I have joined this amazing team, all the way back to the days of the 2-3 Issues.. The team was weak.. We all were novice in making this magazine and it was very difficult, I was a noob myself :P (Look at the 3rd issue gfx and today's magazine gfx and you'll see). As time went on, we all have learned stuff, I learned to make better gfx, the writers learned to write better, the leaders learned to lead better. Then I was promoted to lead the entire Artists Team, which at first wasn't big at all and I learned even more, I learned how difficult it is to lead a team, even the smallest team.. The little baby, called The Scene, started its way from nothing, but good people who cared about it. The Scene has been growing under the big father WBB and near the brother, Wadio. As the time went on, the magazine has become bigger, better and popular. And here we are today, The Scene is one year old! We encountered many problems and difficulties during this very first year of ours, but they have only helped us to become stronger. I want to thank all the members of the Magazine Staff, the WBB Staff and of course all our readers who enjoy reading the magazine and give us useful feedback, without you, we are nothing. :D Parteh time! April 19th 0:61 APM. :D ~Yoghurt.

s m u w d I still remember that very day I joined the Press Team. I was so thrilled and happy,

and a few days later, all of a sudden, I became Member Of The Month. I want to thank everybody who helped me in giving me this great opportunity to become a member of this wonderful team. Sadly enough, I had an accident a few weeks ago, so I won't be able to spend much time on Warez-BB, for now. I will probably be back in a few months. Congratulations on this anniversary issue, may there come many, many more.

Staff Comments y l l i B SillyOne year has sure passed so fast. :D My fellow staff member Grimezy has posted what was in my mind. Although sometimes we do miss deadlines :P we do try our best to bring out a fan-spanking-tastic issue every single time. At this very special occasion, we have tried extra-hard to make this issue as good as it can be. I sure as hell hope you enjoy this issue, and hope that you liked it just as much as we did. I'd like to give a huge round of applause to our never-tiring GFX'ers, who have made this possible. And also to enigma, without whom this would have never hapenned. Cheers, big ears, and all other greetings, Sill Silly.

I hope you all enjoyed all my articles during the past 9 months i've been a part of the press team. For 4 months I wrote articles, after that I got more involved with the dealings of the press team and really got more dedicated. The last few months I have also graphics'd my articles as well as write them. The press team has had its problems, but it always pulls through, this issue proves that in more ways than one. I hope to read the future articles in another year. I have been so inactive due to schooling that I am sad to say you will not be seeing my writing in future articles for awhile. It was a good run, but I can't do it anymore. Cheers to new writers and gfx'rs to take my place. This doesn't mean i'm gone forever, I will be coming back in the coming months as a full time writer and graphics member.

y d n e r P Wow. I've really enjoyed my 3 months here in the press team. We had many hard

times, late issues, etc. But I loved every minute of it. This is really a winning team, and I hope it stays that way. It's great to see the process of production. The articles writers writing their articles, then use gfxing them, then the final piece. It's all worth it. I wouldn't want any other place on W-BB other than being a graphics artist on the scene. Roll on 2008!

It is truly an honor to work with such dedicated members, especially enigma86, who is an awesome leader. Scene, that one article was selected upon many entries to become a member of the Scene Press Team to write for your eyes only. And now about half a year later, I'm involved with both the Graphics and Article side of the Magazine, helping out alongside with some of Warez-BB's living legends bringing you the Warez-BB monthly magazine, 'The Scene'. Well actually everyone in the Scene is a living legend, they bring around a new magazine every month, not always on time but it gets in eventually just to make Warez-BB members feel more like family and to give you something to read about and you can have a few laughs reading the interviews of our members. All i want to do is thank everyone who i work alongside with for the magazine, to all the staff for maintaining the #1 forum in the world and to all the Members who have read the magazine and have shaped up the forum to have over five hundred thousand members. So Congratulations to 'The Scene' for the one year anniversary and I'm looking forward to many more celebrations. Cheers, Grimezy.

a t s h a LilM I would like to say thanks to everyone who has continuously contributed to our

community. We have been going through good times and bad times and some people kept supporting us with every post they made on this board. I would like to thank each of you for that. The Press Team is really great and the magazines are always fun to read. You guys are awesome!

First of all, I'd like to say a massive thank you to all of the members of the Press Team for putting together this particularly special release of the magazine in celebration of its one year anniversary - hats off guys :D Since the magazine started, Warez-BB has evolved in more ways than may have been thought possible, the records and events shown in the yearbook have all helped in the unparalleled success of Warez-BB, as we soar to new heights with every single day. The past year has held ups and downs for the board, but regardless of the situation we have found ourselves in, we've always come out of it better than we began. What can really be learned from the content of the yearbook is that by reflecting on what Warez-BB used to be, and what we know it as today, the future of the board is almost unimaginable - without the dedication and teamwork put in by everyone here, none of this would have been possible. I'd like to thank each and every member for the role that they play here, and for the hard work put in by some particular individuals, and to the great friends I have made in my time here - you all know who you are. :D I look forwards to reading the second anniversary of the magazine this time next year - keep up the awesome work guys. :D On a side note, I'd just like to mention that coconuts are awesome. May 2008

It all started when Didoz and Bento decided to start a forum where users could share links to the huge collection of warez on internet. The idea was taken from an earlier forum named WarezBB started by Grizzly back in 2003. Grizzly left the forum after sometime and is now the owner and admin of another forum named ProjectW. Warez-BB came into being on Friday, March 13, 2005 at 11:20 PM. The Warez-BB that we know today is a reincarnation of the old WarezBB. The name of the site came from WarezBB. It was changed from WarezBB to Warez-BB (including the dash between Warez and BB) because ProjectW took the original domain. The name Warez-BB stands for Warez Bulletin Board, which comes from the name of forum software phpBB used for developing it. The birthplace of Warez-BB was Bento’s Home Server where it was hosted on it in the initial stages. It had an uptime of 12 hours per day. Later, it was moved to a more stable hosting for an uptime of 24 hours a day. Currently, the site is hosted in Hong Kong.

Warez-BB at the start Didoz and Bento made a great effort in the launching Warez-BB. Both had to leave the ownership and administration after sometime in order to endeavor their business and the responsibility was handed over to Coolyou who is currently the administrator of Warez-BB. Previously, he was the administrator of WarezBB and was called upon when Warez-BB was formed. HOT TUNA was promoted to the post of administrator due to the efforts he made towards the website.

May 2008

Considering the ever-increasing size of WBB and the amount of work required to run it efficiently, two more members have recently joined Coolyou and HOT TUNA in the administration cadre. Thrilling and PC have shown tremendous amount of hard work and intelligence being Super Moderators on the board and have earned their positions well as administrators. The website has been through many vicissitudes in the past but has only made the resolve to make it better even stronger. We have endured botnet attacks in the past, which caused a downtime of two days. However, all the efforts of the evildoers have proved to be futile till date. Having a meager 1000 members in April 2005, the numbers registered with the forum has escalated to an excess of 500000 recently and the number is increasing exponentially. People from all over the world are members of Warez-BB. These members have posted over 5.000.000 articles till date. Members who have put in some extra effort towards the site by reporting or posting are absorbed within the site staff or assigned a V.I.P status. The moderators and super moderators are also selected from these members and they assist the administrators in keeping the site spam free and play an important role in devising and implementing the rules and regulations. Today, Warez-BB is one of the largest forums running on the internet is growing day by day. The administration of the website run together by the administrators and moderators has proved to be a big success. When Bento and Didoz started this website back in 2005, they might never have thought that it will scale such heights. I myself am a member of the forum and enjoy every bit of the time I spend here. This website has something for everybody. All I would like to say in the end is: “Long live Warez-BB

About The Scene

1

scene

So you want to join it? As The Scene nears it’s one year anniversary, many people wonder what it takes to be a part of the Magazine team and what The Scene is all about, and maybe a little of its inside workings. Hence, this article was born. What is The Scene about? The Scene is an ‘e-zine’ (electronic magazine) for the Warez-BB Community (a.k.a. The Warez-BB Family). Tom91 started the Scene in April of 2007. The leadership of the magazine changed several times. The editors have included; Tom91, Slayer, Aydrian, AZUPO, and then ending with our current editor - Mistweaver. As like most ‘e-zines’, The Scene is distributed online for all to enjoy free of charge on a monthly basis. The Scene contains several types of articles, each based upon several factors. Unlike several other types of magazines, The Scene allows its writers to write about anything they wish. The Scene has many dedicated users, who ensure The Scene is always out on time and is always meeting expected standards. What does it take? The Press Team has a series of rules that each members is expected to follow. Some important ones are outlined below. As with all magazines, staff have to meet all deadlines promptly and make decent, well thought- out articles. Active participation in the press forum and continuous contribution is necessary. Communication is an absolute requirement; as a member, you should check the Press Room regularly. You have to abide by the rules. If you fail to follow them, removal is imminent. Don’t it just the rules. Your articles must also be appropriate and within the get us wrong, it’s Warez-BB rules. Articles may however be of any subject.

About The Scene

1

scene

So you want to join it? How does The Scene work? The Scene works pretty much like any other magazine - writers write articles, graphics artists make the magazine graphically appealing. The final version is uploaded online for all to enjoy. The Scene, however, is different, as said earlier, in that it does not tell writers what to write about, hence, the articles are always informative and written by knowledgeable writers. The writers, despite not being professional, meet the standards set forth by the rules. The graphics artists (or GFX’ers, as they are called) will spend time working on the writers’ work making the magazine graphically appealing and ready to be compiled. The whole process takes the time between issues. Why do they do it? As time goes by, users may start to think why we create The Scene. Normally consumers purchase magazines, which are bombarded with advertisements. However, the Scene takes a different approach, and this is what separates The Scene from other magazines. We work to our best abilities to provide users an excellent experience at Warez-BB. This is what makes us do what we do. With this knowledge, we hope you will enjoy future issues of The Scene :D

Everything started with cracks for video games on personal computers at the beginning of the 80’s. The Commodore 64 was one of the first personal computers to be used in the Scene. The quick access of the personal computers was mainly because of the large amount of game software available at that time. The Commodore 64 offered the same audio & graphical capabilities as the ones provided by the arcade plots, but with larger possibilities. It could be designed, coded, and most important, one could copy game software, which was impossible on the game consoles at that time. Crackers started to pirate the anti-piracy protections on software just for fun and got in competition with their peers. Instead of spreading their cracked games, they started signing their software. Even if cracking wasn’t necessary, there was always someone to pirate a game here and there, simply to put the label “Cracked by XYZ, 1983” on the title screen of the software. The growth of this phenomenon was so huge that such messages appeared in many software all around the globe.

Visual effects, music, long lists of text, plenty of greetings and Scene news, the Cracking Scene thrived a lot around the year 1985. Several groups originated all around the world, and specialists of cracking started a new type of competition: who will be able to crack or design software for a new game including their name with elegance on the title screen, the quickest possible!!! These new challenges caused a new sort of competition. The custom title screens started to disappear and introduced a new kind of little software displaying the group name and its details. This software was called crack intro, famously knows as cracktros. An average cracktros displayed the following: The group name and its logo was animated in the middle of the screen. Above or below this was a text revealed by an animation of whirling or making waves. Then the inevitable greetings followed, the goal of which was to send regards to other cracking groups. At the end of 1980's, the intros became much technical, called mega demos, a kind of big intro that started to spread. The fact that this part of the scene started to separate itself from the illegal part of the cracking groups permitted them to start acting freely and organize public meetings, called demoparties. These demoparties were the occasions to show and compare their creations and meet other sceners. The Demoscene was born. This is the year 1988.

the

scene

If you ever wondered, what exactly the Demoscene is, then here is the answer. Imagine a huge underground community organized in small groups of young and creative people who battle in the creation of multimedia stuff in real time, called demos. The demos are developed using 3d graphics, 2d effects, bitmap graphics and music, all of them combined in a synchronized presentation, a little bit like a music video. It is important to insist on the real time term as a keyword to define a demo, because a demo is never a pre-calculated animation. A demo is perceived like an artistic and a technical exploit.

The computer demos have nothing in common with the commercial demos for video games. They are also demos, but the word demo means software, which is designed to present the powerful techniques & artistic skills of the computers, and brings an audiovisual pleasure to the audience. A demo, in general, includes several types of graphical effects calculated in real time by the computer. These effects are in relation with the others and synchronize with the music. In fact, a demo is a kind of clip or quick electronic animation without any theme or precise message, except the goal of showing the best animation possibilities on the computers. Globally, most of the demos are free for use. They are open source, which means they can be freely copied but the original author keeps the intellectual property on the product. The demos are often the fruit of a collective effort. The most important member in a demogroup is the coder. The demos are conventionally programmed in "assembler", but nowadays C & C++ languages are also being used, and only the most powerful parts in real time calculus term, are designed in assembler. The original ideology of the demo coders is to build with nothing much and push the computer to its maximum limits, and sometimes even beyond that. The graphics are designed by infographists. For a long time, it has been a pixel to pixel work but nowadays, it is drawn mostly through graphic tablets. The role of the graphist is also to design objects in 3D and to place them in a 3D virtual world. The musicians create and compose the whole music that is heard during the pictures or visual effects on the screen. The music is synchronized with the different graphical effects in the demo.

The members of the Demoscene organize big meetings called demoparties. These demoparties last several days and include many events. Due to a large number of events, it's rare for the participants to get more than 3 hours of sleep time, which involve a certain develop of the speed drugs to keep the move during the whole demoparty. The demosceners come to demoparties to meet other sceners, exchange files, share knowledge and experiences, observe other’s creations and display their own, and take part in several contests. The best-ranked products are often rewarded with some prizes, sometimes money, but mostly computer hardo ware offered by the sponsors. The passion of the demo is mainly seen in males; most of the demosceners are men. But nowadays, with the expansive growth of computer access, more and more girls join the Demoscene. Most of them are graphists or musicians, it’s rare that they code. Another kind of female participants include the dancers and the groupies, as lots of demoparties end in a kind of rave party. This is due to the reason that the electronical music included in the demos, called chiptune music, is very near to the techno and hardtech music movements. A demoparty is a place where friendship & competition are closed.

As soon as everybody arrives, all the computers are plugged in and the contests can start. The demo contest is the King of the Contests. The demo winner often receives a prize more valuable than the prizes for other contests, as there are different categories of demos & intros. For example, the demos for Amiga & PC are often split because the engines don’t have the same capacities. The contests of intros are different as compared to the demo contests. The maximum disk space authorized for the demos is generally 20 megabytes, but for the intros the limit is only 64 kilobytes. The Assembly 94' was the first huge demoparty with contest of intros limited to 4 kilobytes. Nowadays there are some demoparties where the size of an intro is limited to 256 bytes. The tiniest intros are coded in assembler. It is more difficult to get lots of graphics in high quality with music effects in little sizes. The graphics contest is dedicated to static pictures, generally limited to a precise size (640x480 pixels) and to a number of colors (256, but they can also be limited to a greater extent in the contest called "Old Skool Graph Competition"). According to the rules of the contest only original pitures are accepted, i.e. drawn by the artist himself/herself, but sometimes the work of other artists is accepted as well. There are also several categories of 3d graph contests, especially the "ray tracing competition". The animation contest is different because they are pre-calculated. The animations are created with the help of commercial applications for 3D animation, but some people use traditional videos, comics or cartoon's as well.

The music contest features more entries than any other contest. In the biggest demoparties, there may be 200 to 300 entries. Some of the musicians of Demoscene actually create music for commercial video games or release commercial music, for example Daft Punk or Kraftwerk who were active in the Demoscene. The music contest is also an occasion to start kind of rave party inside the demoparty itself, where the chiptune meets the electronic deejays. The “wild” contest accepts almost everything; it has to be “cool”. It can be anything that is not common with other contests, but most of the time the demogroup develops a real project for a special event. It is often short films including flash animations or live performance, like cracking a video game in few seconds or bypassing some securities. A little hacking activity is often seen during the contest. For the record, Kevin Mitnick was a fan of demoparties. The demogroup is a community where the code regroups anything. I wasn’t a very active Scener in the past because I didn’t have enough coding skills like some of my friends, but I gained a lot of experience in demoparties. I am a big fan of electro music and was always pleased to dance a bit during the music contests. I went to the Evoke demoparty in Köln, Germany in the year 1997. I took part in organizing the VIP party that took place in Lyon, France during summer 1998(after our World Cup). Then it was The Ultimate Meeting in Durlach, Germany(2002). The last demoparty I attended was Pouet Week-End in Berlin, Germany during spring 2007. I cannot give an exact description of the atmosphere during the demoparties, but can tell you one thing; if you like computers, music, underground culture and want to meet genius peeps, don’t hesitate, and go to a demoparty. For the record, the average age of demosceners is between 20 & 30, but sometimes, there are young & older peeps as well.

What's behind the warez scene? scene It was important to continue in detailing what's behind of the warez scene after the preceding article on the demoscene. As you could remember, about the middle of the Nineties the scene came to be divided into two, the demoscene part and the topscene part (i.e. topsites scene), which interests us today. This “topscene” thus is environment where evolve the majority of the warez pirates. It can be compared to a firm. It is “ composed of several types of people who have their own skills and contribute of precise tasks: an administrative council, administrators (siteops), chiefs (nukers), engineers (scripters), programmers (crackers), importers (suppliers), exporters (releasers) and deliverymen (courriers). Environment where these people evolve, comparable to the offices of a company to focus back on the metaphor, is composed of FTP servers (topsites), IRC networks (channels) and Bulletin board systems (BBS). In this article, we will learn point by point the whole of these infrastructures as well as the people who work there, and then discover how each thing functions in synergy.

THE WAREZ SCENE ENVINRONMENT The topsites: fundamentals of the scene To make it simple, the topsites are enormous FTP servers where the sceners evolve and host their data. As opposed to what we all know about FTPs, the topsites are servers known as “legit”, that means that administrators of the datacenter (or optionally the university) where the topsite is located are aware of its activity. One defines the term of topsite for a FTP which has a pure and dedicated connection of minimum 10 mbits, but nowadays, the majority of the topsites have a speed of connection estimated between 100 and 1,000 Mbits. Mainly hosted in Europe, the topsites are ran on UNIX servers, generally equipped with last technologies of memory and processor, as well as an advanced storage between 1,000 and 25,000 GB. The software used for performing a FTP server (i.e. a FTP daemon) is a very big FTP software, like glftpd or DrFTPD that are extremely tweakable, as well as the UNIX core they are using. As you can imagine it, the topsites are used as FXP source towards other servers: they are the true sources of the warez, where the groups release their stuff. Besides they have a whole dedicated space called “groupdir” where only the members of the group have access there, after having to negotiate with the operators of the topsite the conditions of the affiliation, and can prepare future releases in some discretion, directly on their private platform of exchange. These topsites are managed by a staff, composed of siteops and nukers, which observe the strict rules of the topsite generally accessible by a FTP command entitled “SITE RULES”. Channels: interactivity between sceners The channels, i.e. IRC rooms, form a major element of the topscene, because it is where the sceners find and plan their organization. They join private channels, where they discuss about their activity and have access to multitude of services available through IRC Robots, such as dupecheckers (i.e. a feature that will check for past released stuff, and will confirm its originality) or some real-time compilers. Moreover, there are also channels for each topsite. As explained above, the FTP daemon of the topsite, software which manages FTP protocol, is itself linked to another software which manages an IRC Robot, such as the Eggdrop, which announces in real-time all the activity of the to topsite on its channel, and contributes to the creation of “races”. BBS: birth of the topscene Before the arrival of all these new technologies (FTP, IRC), the topscene evolved on the BBS (i.e. Bulletin Board Systems). Generally hosted on UNIX machines (Shell) or old IBM & NT systems (TELNET), the BBS allowed their members to exchange messages and data composed of small sized files. This environment very closed and confidential, was the apogee of the topscene tranquility, where the groups did not hesitate to exchange their telephone numbers in their NFO files. The time of the BBS was marked by groups like Fairlight or Orion.

What's behind the warez scene? scene THE WAREZ SCENE PEOPLE The Council: the topscene's G8 At the end of the 90s, with the exponential growth of the topscene and the arrival of a certain anarchy on the stuff quality term, the siteops and nukers of the largest topsites (called “ranked topsites”) met to form a gathered private society called The Council, a kind of administrative council of the scene, where the rules concerning the quality of the releases, the organization of the topsites, groups or people to be banned but also many other criteria are decided. These rules, once decided and voted, are applied to the respective topsites of the members forming The Council. Thus, la these larger topsites which has in affiliation the most respected groups as well as others siteops like simple members, encourages the scene to evolve on a general term. That is explained by the fact that the best 10% of the groups produce approximately 70% of the daily scene labour, and these groups are mainly affiliated to the topsites owned by Council members - thus the influence of its members affects the way in which the top groups, and thus the whole of the scene, function. It also happens that some of these Council siteops-members of are also leaders of respected groups, as it was the case for “pitbull” the busted ex-leader of Razor1911. Siteop: untouchable administrator The siteops (i.e. site operators) are administrators of the topsites. They have as a role, a little bit like the administrators of the bulletin boards, to manage the subscriptions, the various accesses as well as the organization of the topsite and the establishment of the rules. They are shouldered by the assistance of the scripter and the nukers. The siteops are first of all the people who are in direct agreement with the network administrators of the datacenter where the topsite is located, but it happens some time that others siteops come to be added according to their competences or of their status in a respected group. Nukers: topscene cops nu The nukers can be compared to the moderators of the bulletin boards, they have as a role to “nuke” (i.e. bin/punish) a release or a transfer which does not really fit with the rules laid down by the siteops. For that, they use famous FTP command called “SITE NUKE” to nuke a release and to allot a punishment to those which took part in this error. Generally, this punishment results in a downloading credits removal (don't forget the majority of the members of the topsite have an 1:3 ratio access and thus must transfer some files in to gain credit), calculated in function of the amount of data transfered during that case using a multiple removal (to be concrete: if you transfer 100MB and the whole thing got nuked by 2x, you will get 200MB removed from your credits). It may be also happen that the nukers end up with banning a member. The best nukers of the topscene, particularly those coming from the mp3 scene, meet in a society called Nukenet which is given the responsibility to control and allow the official releases database of the topscene as well as the technical rules relating to precise standards of the releases (unlike The Council which manages the whole of the scene itself and the official banning chart). Scripter: technical genius The scripter is the most important person of the topsite. It is the technician who undertakes installing and managing FTP software as well as the IRC one in order to make the topsite perfectly functioning. The scripters are mainly very experienced engineers and data processing specialists, because the topsites need an optimal performance in term of security and encryption on UNIX environments. They are the most respected people on the topscene because they are only a few to share together the majority of the topsites.

What's behind the warez scene? scene Crackers: coding tricky gurus c The crackers are by far the most talented people of the topscene. They are the people who unpack, analyze and tweak the codes of the last software or game, and adapt in record time their cracks to last copyright technologies. They are very experienced people, who can “crack” a daily average of ten releases. From a personal point of view, these are the sceners that I mo They are very open-minded, very respect the more. sociable and do not hesitate to help the other goshawks of them. Unfortunately for several years they have been largely exploited by inefficient leaders, and only rare groups like Paradox or TMG have experienced leaders who know really the value of work. Suppliers: groups’ secret card The suppliers are the central element of a warez group; it is the persons who will bring software, a game, a film or an album to their group, before even it was officially out in stores. In reward, the groups give them unlimited accesses on large topsites where they will be certain to find huge data archives in any kind. Those are generally people who work within the editing firms of the data that they bring back to their group with exclusiveness and this with any detriment of their professional career. Without them, there would be no advanced warez scene. Releaser: perfect managing speechers The releasers are the perfect managers, they are the people who manage the manpower of group, sign NFO file and prepare the launching of the new releases (using the famous FTP command called “SITE PRE”). They very often do not have particular skills at some precise technical levels, they generally have common skills about everything, and they have an incredible gift of outspokenness’s and are fantastic speechers. Their science of management and words use make them frightening people, avid of power and conquest. It is in particular thanks to them that the topscene evolved in the last few years, and will continue to evolve more. Courrier: Ferrari deliveryman Although the courriers became increasingly rare with the years, replaced gradually by the siteops and even groups members, the courriers were an important part of the warez scene in the Nineties because they took an active part in the spread of the releases throughout the world. Equipped of many accesses to different topsites, they transfer the files from site to site using the FXP technique, always more and more quickly. With the arrival of the newest topsites with 100mbits & over connection, and exponential growth of the warez activities, the courriers adapted and developed tools of automatic trade. Generally hosted on Unix shells, the automatic traders are used to automatically transfer each new release from a topsite to the other. Several years ago, many groups known as of “trading groups” were only composed of talented courriers, particularly groups like RTS that siteops had more confidence in than any solitary courrier.

THE WAREZ SCENE ORGANIZATION The classic way of each warez release

As the diagram explains it, the Supplier package and pre the release supplier starts by Crackers bringing the release Releasers in exclusivity to the group, then the cracker(s) if there is * Little by little, courriers & uploaders spread the release to public. * a need work(s) to resolve safety copyright of the data. After the data Ranked topsites is getting “cracked”, Topsites the releaser publishes the Fast uploaders release by using the command “SITE Bulletin boards PRE” after having Topsites made a package of the file (nowadays Topsites using the WinRAR or Private trackers HJSplit technologies), then once the nuker or the siteop Hacked sites, FXP teams of the site where Trackers and p2p communities the release was Newsgroup and others “pre” validated it, the courriers and the various memDiagram designed by PC for The Scene bers of the topsite spread the release was “pre” validated it, the courriers and the various members of the topsite spread the release from sites to sites, until it arrives on smaller sites with members linked to the hack, bulletin board and peer-2-peer communities, which are used in their turn of relay towards the public.

the

What's behind the warez scene? scene Races: the war of transfers The term of “race” in the warez slang is used to indicate the true race that the various courriers dispute between each to transfer from a site to another one all new files released each day. It is a permanent activity because each seconds, a new release is published (i.e. “pre”) on a topsite, in particular on the music and 0days (i.e. small applications) sub-scenes. Thanks to the IRC Robot, linked to the FTP, that announces every of its activity on the topsite's channel, the courriers can watch in real time how the race evolves. Considering the fact that a release is generally cut in several small files, the courriers puts lots of endeavors to transfer the most possible files before the others, this to gain some downloading credits (because of their 1:3 ratio access) which will be used at the good time when a an affiliated group, i.e. which publishes its new releases on the topsite, will “pre” a release and so will be available there before the other topsites. The war of the clans A little bit like in the professional world, the warez groups perform a baited fight to publish (i.e. “pre”) the last advanced stuff in first; and all the low blows are allowed. The groups do not hesitate to trade their crackers or suppliers, a little as a company could do the same with its engineers or its economists. Thus, as it was the case for the Starforce video games copyright safety, there was only one hand of crackers being able to successfully crack that safety, and those were in groups like CORE or TMG, which did not deal with video games; groups like iMMERSiON or Razor1911 did not hesitate to trade some of their members & their accesses in reward of the talented crackers able to th thwart Starforce. There is another very widespread tactic within the groups: calumny. The leaders/releasers do not hesitate to insert very polemical remarks towards other groups with an aim of seeing them widely banned. An obvious example was the war of NFO files between Fairlight and Deviance, two groups whose members were fellows several months front.

Personal notes To finish on a closer note, it was important to consider some well-known facts which it is not totally useless to recall. “Red card” for the talented members of macabre but famous Drink or Die group - some really extraordinary individuals, like “bigrar” or “radsl” but that let Russian mafias misuse them and make thousands of dollars of profit at pirate markets, which ended in prison for several long and painful months. “Red card” for Americans from DEViANCE, especially their leader named "cf" who let a very crap scener merge with them, just because this one was leading a French group called ReVOLVeR that has suppliers known all over the World for having video games in advance. As you may know, this scener is still leading RELOADED and keeps being involved in drug-related & criminal affairs. There is certainly no advice to give to a group that makes millions of teenagers happy, but certainly a respectful hope in saying the truth. “Green card” to Razor1911 (and also greetings to Razordemo, their demoscene divison) for staying an example of behavior among the top scene, and bringing the right news in the right time, without being that much involved in the War. There are people in the scene that are enough old and wise to know. “Green card” to all the crackers of the topscene, and especially the ones from the 0days that supply an amazing daily work. Same respect applies to suppliers that play every day with their professional career. It was also important to greet all the readers of this article, all the people that are behind its making. the is an appropriate quote to the end of this paper, it would surely be entitled: Software’s creation costs money, if If there you like this software - buy it!

Never could anyone predict that a small effort from two friends will gain so much limelight and reach a big milestone of 300K members. Started in March 2005, today Warez-BB has members in excess of 300K. Every 100K till date has been marked by a celebration. The 300K mark was nothing different from this. It was symbolized by awarding VIP ranks to 18 members who have proved to be the hard workers in the journey from 200K to 300K member mark. On every 100K member milestone, a number of members are awarded VIP status on the community. This trend has been going on from the first 100K. The amount of time to achieve each 100K is decreasing as the time progresses and the forum is known over a larger domain of people due to its friendliness.

It was a normal sunny day, for almost all the people. Everything was seemingly normal. A distant sound was being heard and in seconds the chants became louder. It was the sound of the countdown that the people were chanting in anticipation of the 100K Milestone. Moreover, not only the joy of reaching 100K was in their mind but also the thought as to how long it is going to be celebrated. Will a picture of the elusive Coolyou be released, Will the midget section be released to public – Those were the thoughts going through everyone’s mind. Then suddenly it happened. A new logo change, shiny new WBB. And then the huge announcement. The 100k celebration thread. 14 new members were awarded the VI VIP Status. It was jubilation; some were sad as they didn’t have the change but most were generally happy. Those who didn’t get it tried harder for the next 100K. All over, a celebrative mood was visible at the forum. After sometime, everything gradually came back to normal and everybody calmed. (Except rc4 – that place is crazy). After a few months, the K fever returned again, this time for 200K members. The same countdown. The same inspiration. Again thinking what will be the celebration. Will it be the same as last time or will something new be cooked by the staff. When the moment finally arrived, it was seen that a new set of 12 VIPs was chosen. Again the Monkey band of WBB came and enthralled all. The previous 100K Milestones were celebrated in a huge manner. It might have lasted for a short time but it was worth it. The celebration on every 100K members the forum achieves has continued from the first 100K mark and will continue the same way in future as well. Many deserving members have been rewarded on these occasions for the hard work they performed for the community. Warez-BB is growing day-by-day into a humongous community, thanks to the concerted effort of the members and staff towards the forum. It’s a freelance effort made by all the members associated with the community. At the present growth rate, it can be predicted easily that the day when this community reaches Half Million mark is not far off.

Yahoo! The much-awaited 400K milestone is here at last and what a moment has it been! It was one awaited with great eagerness and anticipation. The forum hummed and chanted 400K, at that glorious moment, the forum buzzed with exultant members, and the celebrations had begun. The memorable day saw the record for the maximum number of online users broken. The spamming began with renewed vigor everywhere and post counts soared. MSN and IRC suddenly became more alive with guys bragging about their shiny new ranks. As many as 31 members became V.I.P.’s for proving themselves invaluable assets to this ever-growing forum. The Warez-BB staff came together and shared their memorable moments at W-BB. The entire community came together to pay homage to its humble staff who had lead the 400K troops for so long on their way to success. Without their leaders, this framework would not have been possible. We have progressed and marched far ahead of the maddening crowd of other ubiquitous warez forums by virtue of our concerted efforts and unity. Let us immortalize this milestone by taking a retrospective view and confirm why we are a cohesive community of rising elites. We should be proud of ourselves and not forget the past, which made us what we are now. Warez-BB took birth when Didoz and Bento started a forum in which users could share links to the huge list of warez on the internet. The forum has rapidly evolved into this ecumenical fellowship with religious, cultural equality and independence from all political constellations. Warez-BB is undoubtedly the friendliest community with the best moderators and helpful contributing members. We have RC’s and Help desk and an ever-available IRC, which facilitate members to socialize and get help immediately.

The Wadio brings free legal music to the world and the Scene magazine brings inside news about the scene. The Forum Comments is an indicator of the transparent working of W-BB and its resoluteness to improve itself. We have come a long we way since our 300K celebrations. Member initiatives have resulted in healthy competitions namely SOTW (Signature of the week), DOTW (Desktop of the week), POTW (Poem of the week) etc. Despite not having any connection with warez, these competitions have thrived and gained huge popularity at W-BB. Warez-BB has taken huge strides to become a legal forum by closing the uploader's team and by abolishing posting of software serials. These changes have made W-BB much stronger. The members of the W-BB family have partaken and enjoyed with the community and have commiserated with it during demanding circumstances. Warez-BB along with the united efforts of its members had helped it recover from hacking attacks in the past and supporting the ads in W-BB. The community not only has added new members over time but also evolved into a formidable face of the warez scene. We the members of the W-BB family have all been with W-BB and seen it through its best and worst moments. To most members, W-BB is befittingly their second family. The W-BB family welcomes new members who will unite with the rest of the W-BB family and take it beyond the zenith. Warez-BB would not have been possible without the efforts from each one of us. Each one of us should be proud for being a part of this success story. Let us march ahead. Next milestone is the HALF-MILLION!

Through our history we achieved many great milestones and we completed many great projects. All of this was possible because we had help from our amazing and dedicated members that found their second family here. Some of them were elected to become staff members and they continued to work hard to help our great community as much as possible. After a while some had to resign from their position and the time has come to pay special tribute to those amazing individuals. Big thank you also goes to Bounce for amazing graphics and also Hot Tuna, Thrill and the rest of our current staff for their help in making this list.

Few words from the magazine crew The 5th Edition of The Scene is dedicated to RedBull, a SuperMod on Warez-BB. This guy has done an amazing amount of work for the forum which unfortunately most of you will never know or appreciate. RedBull, the name is so intimidating. You would be excused for thinking the same about him until you’ve had a talk with this guy who is so humble and sensitive from inside. Although he might be belligerent at times it only lasts momentarily and anybody who truly knows him knows otherwise that this is only his sense of humor. This just begins to describe how he is thought of as part of the family. The work he has done for Warez-BB is nothing short of unbelievable. This covers all the work of modding, posting and uploading. RedBull was the first ever member to achieve three different ranks at Warez-BB. First he was a donator, and then he was in the Uploader’s Team and then finally VIP. After achieving these three much desired ranks he moved on and his life in the forum took a massive jump as he was invited to join the staff as MOD. After proving how hard he could work and how much he really cared about the progress of the forum he finally became SMOD. Despite all these achievements though there is also the sweet and gentle nature that he possesses. Recently he and his friend met with an accident, and in this unfortunate event his friend left for the heavenly abode. RedBull has suffered multiple injuries and is under special observation and will need many treatments to help him on the road to recovery. This came as a shock to all his friends at Warez-BB. We all are praying for him and we hope that he gets well soon and also that his friend’s soul rests in piece. RB, you mean a lot to us and we hope from the bottom of our hearts that you get well soon and will be back with us shortly. Waiting for you…………….

Today is one particular day in the history of Warez-BB. Our promotional engine, the Uploaders Team, which accompanied and supported us with the length of all these years, must put a term at its epopee. As you may all know, Warez-BB is directing itself towards the legality and the official recognition of the authorities. Our principal fight is to promote and authorize the spread/share of culture throughout the world, and this freely. Thus, after having prohibited the posting of all serial number or activation key, we decided to put an end to the Uploaders Team. This team was truly the lungs of this community, and in spite of its illegal activity everyone stor it knew to maintain a level of cannot hide it should be entirely recognized for its marvelous story, maturity and integrity without precedent in the history of the bulletin boards. Unfortunately, we cannot any more support its activity since this one is not legal in the locality where we stand, and officialy saying we do not longer support uploading copyrighted contents. This attitude obviously implies that we consider, and we affirm our community and its activity as legal and legitimate. We propose a service that does not include any copyrighted contents, since it is hosted on other services we have no relation with; thus, according to our location's laws, we are o not directly offering any copyrighted contents, but just proposing a service to allow members to post links and information about medias and software, which is not illegal I insist where our servers are located. In the next months, we will inform you more on this turn since many other stages remain to come. By the means of this requiem, I also make a point of introducing the creation of the Radio Team which will ensure the organization and the programming of our new legal Radio, Wadio. It is time for me to leave the word to the last but not the least two leaders of this team, dibbler5 and JiMBO, but also the rest of the staff and everyone. I would just like to thank the leaders I've known there, kingdom zero, bob, rebe, bioduo, cubic, dibbler and jimbo. Hats off for the successive, and successful management, and thank you all past members of this crew, your help meant and means a lot to our success.

The story behind the station Having been a regular DJ on Uni radio for 2 years, the idea of a station for Warez-BB had been on my mind for some time. I had heard that there was once an unofficial station for the community, however Warez-BB had grown significantly since they stopped broadcasting. A topic popped up in Forum Comments around August 2007 about the possibility of a community station. Having been around the site for a while, I was already a Super Moderator, and PC approached me to see if it was something I would be interested in helping with. My response was that I was flattered, but I knew nothing about running a station.. Sure, get me on the mic and I can chat for hours on end! After hours of chatting with PC about the possibility of this legal Internet radio station, we decided it was something we could do. We had the finance, we had the admin, the big chief (that was me!), now all we needed was the DJs.. Initially the station was called Radio-W, however it caused quite a big stir as it sounds like another forum – mentioning no names :P I eventually suggested the name “Wadio” – as I had been watching a TV show (for all you brits, it was Jonathan Ross surprisingly!) earlier that evening, and thought, “Wadio” – yeh that sounds quite good. PC liked it, and so it was confirmed.. WadioMedia.org was purchased – this was REALLY going to happen. Having worked with Dibbler5 in the Uploaders team (which had recently closed), I decided to see if he was interested in helping me form the Radio Team. I knew it would be a bloody massive task to start the station, however with the right team and staff, I knew it could be done. Frootbooter also expressed his keen interest to help the station – and so it was upto us 3 to get the station up and running.. The 3 Musketeers :) Our first system, which we now refer to it as v1, was very experimental and consequently was temperamental. As none of us had worked with a internet station before, we didn’t have a bloody clue! We learnt as we went along. What we did know was that we wanted a constant playlist when a DJ wasn’t on air – PC came up with a system of scripts, which was a tedious task, however it did the job. clearl I had been September came, and we were ready to Launch! I remember the week clearly. sleeping an average of about 3-4 hours a night, working on the DJ panel, the DJs, the team, and not forgetting – the publicity. Not surprisingly, I was the opening slot. “The Happy Hours” was my first show – and BOY, what a show. It was a killer, well I would say that, but it honestly was! It sparked off a lot of interest in the whole Wadio thing. Wadio was born!

The story behind the station We had a killer opening week, however as time went on it was clear that the temperamental system didnt handle a busy schedule very well - which was causing a big internal problem - if we couldn't get it sorted, what do we do?! While we were coming up with the new system we kept working on doing the best we could - we lost DJs, good ones at that, however that is life! I decided that we needed more staff to lighten the load from the 3 musketeers! We recruited MD101 first, then ToM and Riker came in not so long after. Christmas came, and we all worked damn hard to ensure we keep the server problems down to a minimum. Which we did, and it showed us there was an audience crying out for a reliable system so they can listen more. We gave away about 20 Rapidshare accounts over the festive period, and it was a blast. Everyone who listened over Christmas will remember something Swifty's Staff interviews perhaps? Was a great time for us. Shortly after the festive period, we decided that the current system just wasnt going to cut it any more. In the early days of January 2008 we decided to shut down, and reorganise everything. Coolyou worked with us a great amount, and worked on a new way the stream would work, with a constant playlist. After extensive testing, the new system was ready, as was the new site. As the team grew bigger preparing for the new system, PopIcon (Math) was brought in as a staff. February 21st 2008 - Wadio v2 is born! The system, the look, the staff, the DJs, all had changed! We were raring to go. After a few initial hickups, the new system was proving to be a great improvement, and for the first time we were running smoothly :) Not long into the new system we had a big of a jiggle about with the DJs and staff, and Dibbler5 stood back from the staff side of things, and has semi-retired so to speak ;) (although I would like to see his return sometime soon) The team is the strongest it has ever been. I have the greatest of respect for all my DJs, and especially the Wadio staff. Without them we wouldn't be where we are. We are always on the look out for new DJs. All we ask is that you have a good enough connection to stream at 128 kbps, you are reliable, dedicated, and that you have a microphone. I would now like to hold the floor to my staff to say a few words about their experiences here at Wadio.

The story behind the station

ToMyM Story: I remember how I found out about Wadio, I wanted to be an uploader, and I had been applying for a few months, but they had a huge backlog, so they had to close temporarily. I waited, and waited, until the final post was made saying they had to close it. I was very disappointed at the time as I really wanted to do something to help WBB! But, I didn't quite realise that there was something new, the official WBB Radio, Wadio! I remember my post from ages ago saying "Hm, I might try out for this 'Wadio'", Now I sit back and laugh at that! :P So when I applied for Wadio, I was very excited! I had had about half a year experience of Internet radio systems and how they work, and was eager to go with Wadio! I set up my show and picked the perfect times. The first night of Wadio was bloody amazing! All the hard work that went in was definitely worth it! Especially the fact that we was finally able to get a glance at JiMBO's sexy voice. ;) A few months later, when the system was being re-done, JiMBO wanted to talk to me on msn. I was excited, mainly because I knew what he was going to ask me, but I just didn't expect it to take 20 minutes! *Chuckles* Jim asked me to become a Wadio Assistant! I of course said yes and it made me very happy! :D A few things went a bit up and down with the new system, but that's what happens with something so experimental! And, to this day, Wadio is getting bigger, and bigger! You could also make Wadio get even bigger! (PM me! :P) ToM - "The Chief's Lil Brother"

The story behind the station

101always liked talking with people and sharing my stories with people. I never MDI've really cared what people thought, I just always enjoyed entertaining people. If making a complete fool out of myself is what it takes then so be it.

I have a background of about 5 years worth of Internet Broadcasting. I'm very tech savvy so when it comes to somthing I want to learn, I'll learn it and do it. Broadcasting is just one of my many talents but will be the only thing most people at WBB recognize me for. My voice alone is enough to make you wet your pants and want to visit the closest bathroom to relieve yourself from your sexual tension. The first person I contacted about Wadio was PC. I saw the sticky about "Wadio coming soon" and I jumped on it like white on rice. I wanted to bring my experiance to Wadio and I did just that. I eventaully became an asset to the team and was made Wadio Staff. Now in charge of all of our broadcaster, I have little time to broadcast myself. With the new system in place that has changed and JiMBO and myself will be doing a show called "Better than Sex". I am excited about our show and I know we will easily entertain our listeners with our random comments and stories. -MD101

r e t o o b t o o r I F remember the month leading up to the debut of Wadio.. It took a lot of work from everyone involved but we finally got it off of the ground.

Since then Wadio has gone through a lot of changes. We've had out ups, and our downs. I would never had pictured Wadio would be as big as it is right now when we first started. Everyone who has been involved in Wadio has put in a lot of effort and made Wadio what it is today. Hopefully we will continue to grow and improve for a long time to come. -Froot

The story behind the station

I'll do my best to tell it like it is. :D Well, my hobbies are TV, comics and music. And my interest in those things led me to the world of podcasts. Fans making their own shows about stuff and uploading the mp3s. And, from that, I started doing my own show. I got a buddy involved and we started a podcast almost three years ago. Talking about TV. By early 2007, I was doing the show on my own and making a real effort to make sure there was a new episode every week. I was still a newbie at WBB when word of WADIO first filtered into the forums. I'm not exactly sure what short of chain reaction occured in the dark recesses of my mind that first time I read about WADIO, but something happened... It occured to me, through my TV-addled stupor, that I was sitting at a mic every week anyway, recording the podcast, why not try doing the recording process live. And broadcast it... live. Those initial communications with Jimbo (he of the sexy voice) were fraught with mis-communication and confusion. I had assumed they would want to get the station up and running before dealing with a raw newbie like me, but they (Jimbo and dibbler, who auditioned me) were more than happy to give me a shot from Day One. I'll never forget that first night. It was quite an experience. Up to that the podcast had been a solitary experience. I recorded it, uploaded it and left it there. I'd check back every few days and see how many people were downloading it and so forth, but comments or emails are rare (unless you make a mistake, then six people email you! ). That's just the nature of the beast. But the first night of WADIO was a joint experience. Though seperated by geography we were all together. >>>

The story behind the station

And WADIO is still like that for me. I still do my podcast TV review show ever Sunday, and a music show every Monday, and there's usually someone who is listening and willing to chit-chat (thru IRC/MSN). People from all over. And, as a listener, I get that same vibe. Before WADIO I never listened to radio. Any radio. I just listened to my own CDs/Downloads and that was it. Radio was an intrusion of music I didn't know. But WADIO is like listening to stuff your mates have recommened, and I genuinely enjoy listening to the new stuff that pops up. My iPod now has Tata Young on it, cos a DJ played her one night and I quizzed him about her music. Stuff like that is cool, and part of the WADIO experience. I like to listen to it. It's gotten better than it was, and it's getting better and it's going to continue to get better and better and be quite big and exciting. I'm seriously honoured to be part of this wild ride and (this is where it gets a bit soppy) I can honestly say I've made friends since I got involved with it. Sure, that last bit makes me sound like a sissy girl, but it happens to be true, so what can I do? I have to tell it like it is. Very Happy RD

n o c I p Po oh man, im the new kid on the block, i was brought onto the team to make idents and jingles. i guess my enthusiasm for wadio is what has gotten me here, helping Jimbo and the rest of the admin making wadio a better place. i asked myself why no-one was listening to wadio and the answer was "it takes time to fall in love".. some people think we are the voice of warez-bb, i see us as messengers, a platform for the voices. the voices are the members of warez-bb and as we reach the 600k we need to hear more voices, i believe there is a place for every single one... we are constantly coming up with new ideas from the absurd to the sublime, expect frolics', drama, perversion, puzzles and a large dose of music. Here I am again. Just like always, I am here to divulge another achievement and milestone by Warez-BB. We had the Gaming Site, The Scene itself, the Official IRC and following this came The Shop. All these achievements were big ones for us but the latest one is special in itself. For the first time this one uses a different method of propagation. It It’s called Wadio. The official radio service from Warez-BB. The idea has been in existence for some time now. The only concern was “How to make it happen?” PC, Admin at Warez-BB, came up with the idea and knew exactly who to approach. This guy is a DJ at his University and has a good knowledge about the aspects related to running an Official Radio. And so JiMBO, SMOD at WBB, and a hard working member was approached by PC in order to implement the idea. “ The name “Wadio” was suggested by JiMBO keeping in mind that it is Warez-BB Radio. This creativity can be attributed to an odd sense of humor that this guy possesses. (very true says Misty :P) So JiMBO was made the Chief of the Project and PC acted as the organizer behind the scenes. The next important stage of the operation was to acquire the licenses needed in order to make it possible for the Wadio to come into existence. PC was successful in getting these licenses and then the Wadio was finally born. Making things happen through the Internet is not as easy as you might think. And the same was the case with the Wadio. Although the licenses were made available by PC, Wadio still needed RJ’s (Radio Jockeys) to make Wadio a happening thing. Two other SMODs from WBB, Frootbooter and Dibbler, helped PC and JiMBO to make this possible and in so doing helped them to recruit some RJs to kick off Wadio. When everything was finally in the right place, the slots booked, RJs ready to take over, Wadio was officially launched on the 23rd of September 2007 at 18:00 GMT. It was the moment of truth and the fulfilling of pride for the whole Warez-BB family having launched their biggest project yet to date. All the Wadio Staff are working as freelancers and the only sort of payment they receive is the enjoyment they get out of the work they do for Wadio.

The Official Warez-BB IRC has a Wadio Channel in order for Wadio to be Live and interactive. The RJs can interact amongst themselves and members. It’s an easy way of taking requests from the members and announcing their names on the Wadio. The Wadio can be listened to through the following players: •WinAMP: http://listen.wadiomedia.org/winamp •iTunes: http://listen.wadiomedia.org/itunes •Windows Media Player: http://listen.wadiomedia.org/wmp •Real Player: http://listen.wadiomedia.org/real With the advent of the Wadio, Warez-BB has leaped a big step ahead. What started as a small forum to share warez has turned into a complete revolution on its own by implementing so many big projects in such a short span of time. The Wadio is the first project in itself launched by any warez forum. It might take some time for it to soar to heights, but it has added a new dimension to the warez scenario.

Yes, we have ads. Our ads free environment has been invaded but before you go throwing your hands up we have good reason to do this. We have been living without donations for nearly two months and if we hadn't acted we wouldn't have been able to pay for our hefty bills. It's something that our admins have discussed for days and because we're unable to accept further donations because Paypal doesn't allow this and shuts down accounts we have been forced to take this road. eithe so I'll make our ads as less intrusive as possible. We won't be I'm not a fan of adverts either, putting ads in between posts which we've seen other sites do in the past. We will also not have pop ups on our site and make sure that there is no adware, spyware that is going to be installed on your computers. It's something that the staff have agreed is a no go zone and we will stick by this. We will also filter any pornographic ads or ads which we think is inappropriate for those below 13 years of age for our minors. I hope everyone here understands that we're merely here trying to survive or else we would have placed adverts on our forum a long time ago. Edit: We would also like to ask our members to turn off any advert blocking scripts to support us. Where's the ads? The advertisements are at the bottom of the forum. The Warez-Shop is the official site for purchasing Warez-BB merchandize. The shop sells products, which are suitable for people of all age groups. The diverse merchandize available can be recognized by looking at the broad spectrum of products available. There is a product for almost every letter in the English alphabet, apron, bags, caps, dark red T-shirts etc (you get the point). There are also products suitable for people of all age groups. There are products for everyone, which cater to the needs of children, teens, adults, both male and female. The shop is 100% legal and shipping options are available for almost all parts of the world. Most of the products at the Warez-shop are manufactured in US/Europe. Shopping on Warez-shop is easy. The site is well organized and is easily navigable. All available products are grouped under relevant categories. There is also a powerful search feature to help you, which gives relevant search results in no time at all. Another useful feature is the ability to view the site in three different languages namely English, German and Spanish. To get started, you need to sign up for an account at Warez-shop. Once the account creation is over and completed, you can start adding your favorite items to the cart. You can checkout of the shop when you have filled your online shopping cart with all the delectable goodies. A secure online payment method is available through PayPal, which includes Amex, Visa & MasterCard support. Free shipping is provided for all carts, which have goodies worth more than $150. The quality and content of every product is checked before shipping, which assure the delivery of a quality product. Hence, the products take about two weeks to ship. All apparels available from Warez-shop carry the shiny Warez-BB logo on them. The logo is an icon of fidelity to the W-BB community and provides a clothing identity. Quite contrary to misapprehensions, The Warez-shop is not a way to donate or supply money to Warez-BB. The shop is not motivated to make profit. The shop prices are the lowest we can have. The shop benefits between $1 and $4 per product, which is a ridiculously small amount for all the quality control measures followed. The Warez-shop exists to foster intangible community spirit by making available the tangible mementoes of Warez-BB. Fortunatel Fortunately, as it has been widely suggested, we will soon change the concept of The Warez-shop and adapt it to our donation system.

Warez-BB is expanding like anything. It all started as a small forum back in 2005 and now it has an official magazine and over 200000 members. The newest addition to Warez-BB is the Warez-BB Gaming Zone, a portal full of flash games where people can register and play games for free. It’s not a pre-requisite to be a member of Warez-BB in order to register or play games at the website. The idea was initiated by one of the staff members at Warez-BB. He joined Warez-BB on 1st Feb 2006 and was promoted to the post of a Super Moderator on 14th July 2006 after being an Uploader, VIP, Member of the Month, Moderator, Uploaders Team Leader in that order. He is the Super Moderator with a smile and is known by the name Rebe on Warez-BB. He put the idea he had in his mind in front of the staff and to his pleasure the idea was much appreciated and given a go. Another Super Moderator PC and a member of our forum Rrockz joined hands with Rebe in order to implement the idea. There were many errors and bugs encountered while the site was being developed but the trio worked laboriously in order to eliminate any such discrepancies that might have hindered the overall process. The site is hosted on a different server than Warez-BB and has 60 GB of space in addition to unlimited bandwidth. A number of members are being registered on a daily basis and the site is in the good books of many people. Warez-BB members are also active participants on the website. There are around 1800 games on the website and more than 400 users have already been registered on it. The site has many sections for different type of games such as action, adventure, arcade, puzzle and many more. Its lists statistics such as the number of games played by a user, total games played and top 25 players. These figures help the members keep a track of their performance in the games and in the website as a whole. The games here prove to be a stress buster for many people. I myself am a member of this website and enjoy the games I play here.

The Link Checker Bot

the

1

scene

Say hello to our new bot friend. That’s right; it’s our very own linkchecker bot, otherwise, affectionately known as Viewsonic 2. What does it do you may ask? Well, besides relentlessly posting and pwning every reporter and moderator out there (Just kidding, you know I love you), what it does is check our Rapidshare links and if they are no longer alive, it an important job. Nobody it bins them. Indeed, it’s likes finding dead links, and this is where our linkchecker bot comes into play. Its work is admirable, and it has already binned over 18,000 topics and can only move further and do more and more work. As of yet, it checks only Rapidshare links. If it finds a main post with more than 90% of the total links dead, it appends its signature message and bins the thread automatically by moving it to the ‘Graveyard’. It runs as a cron job and periodically crawls through our public warez forums and checks the topics posted. That way the warez section of Warez-BB stays as clean as possible. Soon, the bot will be able to check not only Rapidshare links, but also other host’s links. Created by Coolyou and his trusty Developers team, the bot started running early December and has done an unimaginable amount of work. It all started when ‘Get Perpendicular’ sent our scripteur, Coolyou, a script that allows bulletin boards like phpBB to check links posted on them. After many man-hours, script editing, hard work and testing the bot was ready. Security issues dealt with and script tweaked, it was set in motion and it immediately started checking links gleefully. As you could see, the results were more than satisfactory. It showed what some knowledge and a lot of elbow grease could achieve. You may ask yourselves, ’Why do we need our moderators and reporters?' The work that goes on behind the scenes is amazing. Checking and binning links is but the tip of the iceberg. The bot is there to assist our awesome staff and help lift some of the workload off their shoulders. After all, warez is sharing. However, it cannot take the role of the reporters and moderators. Without them, who else would be there to protect us from phishers, viruses, flaming, scammers and spam? Yep, the bot doesn’t have nearly enough power to keep our forum completely clean. With more than 4 million posts and around 500,000 members, the task of keeping our community clean cannot fall bot shoulders alone. on a bot’s

<~Parasite>The W-BB IRC IRC or internet relay chat is the communication point of Warez-BB, if it wasn't for IRC, I wouldn't be where I am at now. IRC is the chat system that Warez-BB uses. PC came up with the idea for this IRC, and he has done a very good job to make it the perfect point of communication. However, IRC doesn't only bring communication. You can also search warez-bb, get a live announcement of the latest posts, look up the forum information, get user info, and much more. IRC consists of 'channels', which are chat rooms. There are a few for different places: #warez-bb is the main chat room, here you can just chill and talk, the admins and mods come in there also, so if you want to talk to him and say how great they are, go ahead ;) The "operators", aka moderators of the chat rooms, help keep IRC in place, if anyone does anything bad, then they will sort them out in the appropriate way, and they do a hell of a good job about it :P #Pre is the announcement channel; in here you can search the forums, look up the user information, and more just with simple commands. There are also live announcements of what’s being posted all over warez-bb, thanks to our bot 'Z', coded by Me (Parasite). #Wadio is the Wadio communication point, you can find out what song is playing, the DJ's and plenty more! #CSS is for CSS players, you get a 100% live view of what is going on, and you can even forward a sentence to say in the CSS server, thanks to our bot 'Rachel'. #Party is the latest channel; here we have a games system, where you can play games such as trivia and stuff, thanks to our games bot. Our latest edition, and possibly the most complex, is the live logging system. Everything that happens in #warez-bb is logged so people can use it for reasons that may include looking up old conversation, evidence for a report, or perhaps just having a look to get some laughs out of it? It updates in real time. The URL is http://x-dc.info/irclog . Have fun :). We also have a statistics system built in with the graph of the recent activity, top 20 speakers, and more! You can get very close to the admins, 'big shots', and moderators of warez-bb, (and most importantly me :D), and if you stay for long enough, you can even get yourself helping out in warez-bb, leading to VIP and great respect.

Formalities aside, let’s just get into the action. That’s cool with me. Lol at the irony. Anyways, what's the origin of your name Coolyou? made it up when I was 7 or 8 when my dad showed me the internet. I was in a chat room and I think I got the name from a combination of two other usernames on there. Oh, so that’s the reason. How long have you been in the scene? For about 6 years now. Wow. That explains your knowledge. What do you do in the real world? I mean your actual profession. I'm a server and network administrator. Still in the computer line I see. How much warez do you actually download yourself? And what is it? (e.g. appz, games) I'm a big movies addict. I simply love sitting on the chair watching movies, it's better than a book. So I download a lot of movies. But occasionally I also go to the movies to watch the good ones, it beats watching it on a 15" monitor. Awesome! I also love movies. What’s your favorite section at Warez-BB? The section you look at most of the time?

The Interview

No one can resist coming online and missing a new batch of midgets. What is the most annoying part about administering Warez-BB? [Prepares for a huge answer] I love all of it. I've always loved helping people and seeing a smile on people's faces. Sometimes I have to stay up very late or even do an all nighter to fix up the server or to wait for the datacenter techies to fix things. I think having to wait for the datacenter techs to do their job properly is the most annoying part as there's no Warez-BB for the normal members and I have to stay up waiting. [Takes a sigh of relief] That’s huge, Bounce and Zenova want a pay rise. Your reaction on that? Those two monkeys are already getting a new shipment of bananas already. I only wish they can eat apples, they are cheaper – These should keep em happy. Ha-ha nice! Does my violetish with a flare of yellow and blue streaks dress make me look fat? I thought you've always been fat? :P [HH praying to God he’s lying] Damn that reminds me I’m late for my midget exercises. All that aside, how did you come by all the PHP knowledge you have? PHP was the first language I learnt, I had no idea what it was and I had to use some dirt cheap hosts to figure out the ins and outs of phpBB. It took a few months to get the hang of it and then the next few years mastering it. Good story. Sounds convincing, Now that PW is down and Warez-BB is one of the biggest warez sites around, are you afraid that you or the site will get targeted by feds, police etc?? No I'm not afraid. The site itself is perfectly legal. The site is hosted in China; it is nowhere near the feds so I can't see how they can legally target our site. Are you into any type of music especially house music? I'm listening to some right now. Ah Cool, what does being the Admin of Warez-BB feel like? [Lost In Deep Thoughts] It feels normal. When I first became an administrator I felt excited but at the same time I felt just like myself. Well now it’s no longer excitement, only work. Lol yeah!

What member/person has been a major influence in making you continue to be an administrator at Warez-BB? I only became an administrator because Warez-BB was hacked by a guy named ReVan and it needed to be fixed up so I was made an admin. [Shocked] Now that’s something new. HT said you have an excellent moral compass, what does he mean? It’s kinda simple. It means if someone offered a million dollars to sell Warez-BB I wouldn't do it. Oh I always wondered that. HT also refers to you as a young master - what does he mean? He's jealous, lol. On a more serious note, he is older than me so he refers to me as the young master. Is HT a PHP newbie? Yes, he's learning fast though. Look how easily Cooly says he’s a newbie. Lol. Anyways, what do u like to do besides the warez? Outside of the computer all together, I like watching the TV, debating, spending time with my family and friends. Ah Good guy I see. The family guy will be more appropriate. Still, if you could be anyone else (on the forum), who would you be? (you can't say HOT TUNA) I'd want to be viewsonic, he's a midget himself! Being a midget is everyone’s dream. What's your favorite movie and why? Blood Diamond is a great movie. It was touching and focuses on many of the things that are really happening in Africa. Nice I love that movie myself. I was told you were banned from PW during early 2004. What happened? They didn't want me after making a few posts so I was banned. I was unbanned afterwards thanks to some understanding moderators there who saw that I did nothing wrong.

Now that’s harsh. But old times laid aside, who's the person that you couldn't compete with in PHB and tweaking? The devs at phpBB and a friend of mine who works for torrentspy. Who’s your idol in the warez scene and why? Grizzly, the former ProjectW admin and owner. He has the ability to build a great team if only he had some time. I had the pleasure of being a staff member of Warez-BB while he was still an administrator and his style of management is top class. He knows how to draw a line between fun and work; it took me a while to learn it. If you had no time for Warez-BB then who would you hand it to over to? I'd hand it over to someone who is capable of managing it. Ok. You were once answering questions on Warez-BB IRC. Did you like it and would you do it again? Sure I don't mind. IRC has already been a great way of communication with the rest of the community. How do you feel now that Warez-BB is one of the biggest (the biggest) Warez forums on the internet? Are you proud? I'm proud of it. I'm also excited that we're now one of the biggest forums in the world and that we aren't just sitting around enjoying the success. The team has been working on a lot of things which will change how warez forums work. Nice answer! Does your avatar (snowman) reflect you as a person? I'm certainly not a cold person. But the white does refer to pureness and I believe that I do think quite logically and look at the whole picture before doing anything. Oh that’s why you chose it. Why did you decide to move the datacenter to Hong Kong? The bandwidth is cheaper there and they provided us with cheaper servers. Many wanted to know that. Do you play games? What is your favorite? I don't play many games. If you're talking about Counter- Strike or Need for Speed then no. I'm currently running Nvidia 6150 on-board graphics, so you know how low the fps will be.

What do you think about Hot Tuna and how long have you known him? I've known Tuna for a long time. I could say years and he has also been a member of the site from the good old days. I think he's a very honorable man and is one who makes wise decisions. He has proven himself to have integrity and honesty which are both characters of a team leader. I can go on and write an essay about why he should be an admin, he's that great! Greasin’ eh. Just kiddin’! We all love HT. What did you always want to do, but never got the chance? I've always wanted to learn the tricks of a BMX’er or an MTB’er. I did not know all the technical knowledge then when I first bought my bike so I got ripped off by buying a flimsy bike. It's now sitting in the garage rusting. I love BMX too but it’s too hard for me. What would you like to say to the new members that come to Warez-BB? Read those rules! You'll be surprised how many don't do it. There is no universal set of rules that run through all forums. Besides from that, enjoy your time here. Amen. Do those highly trained monkeys listen to you all the time or do they make you mad sometimes? They team up and drive me up the wall, luckily they can't sustain such teamwork for long periods as they have short term memories (like a gold fish). So one minute they're dancing around me and the next they all stop and look dumbfounded at each other and get back to work. That should wrap things up. Thanks Cooly for your time. I enjoyed it very much. The pleasure is all mine. Adios

Cowthepresident and I ask the all might Hot Tuna some questions about his life and Warez-BB – We all know that this is what you downloaded the magazine for, so here you go… Tom – Why are you next to your wife’s husband?

HT – Humor is a gift we give to ourselves… It’s only humor.

Tom – So, it’s not because you are some sort of swinger?

HT – I have super faithful to wifester.

Tom – How did you find Warez-BB?

HT – I found BB from a link in Katz years ago – and it was the first forum I found.

Tom –Speaking of movies, what’s your favorite movie of all time?

HT –Good question –I would say “The Matrix”. Awesome movie.

Tom –What do you think separates Warez-BB from all the other warez forums out there?

HT –Before being a serious member at Warez-BB I joined several, I noticed that there was something different ate Warez-Bb, it was friendlier. Most forum back then operated with a bull dog mentality, and still do! We have a distinct tone of friendly and fair play, unlike any other. Our mods are all focusing on maintaining our distinct user friendly environment.

Tom –Hot Tuna? Where did that come from?

HT –I have been interested in the planets and our solar system since a child. It would be my lifetime dream to get a better understanding of where we come from – and where we are going.

Tom –What drives you everyday to get up and admin Warez-BB?

HT –I love our community, I get more back than I put in. I am part of something which is good, and ever-changing. Tom – What made you think you wanted to be admin? Now that you are an admin, how do you feel you’ve made an impact and helped W-BB?

HT –On Feb 26th 2006, I was nominated to be a mod, It was the most exciting day I have had in years. I was very honored. I changed the work ethics among the mods almost immediately and thoroughly enjoyed every part of the mods role. I fought for what needed to be changed and took the time with every member to make sure I was doing the best I can. The mod room needed direction, we needed a leader and I made a poll accordingly. Coolyou saw me as a leader, and he offered me the position of admin – which, I didn’t really want, yet I did accept after serious thoughts about the commitment.

Tom –If there were one thing that you could change about Warez-BB, what would it be?

HT –Good question –What I wished for three months ago was to have the best mod team on the planet. I can’t wish for that now – because we do! My wish for today would be that members increasingly respect each other, and that we are all equals.

CTP –What do you do in your free time?

HT –I stay busy, I have other interests yet none of which occupy me as much as the forum. I love to golf, and was heavily into astro-photography.

CTP –You run a warez site. How much do you download?

HT –I am addicted to movies. I grab five or so a week. *Cow had to go* Was milking time.

Tom –Is there anything you would like to add?

HT –You have done a good job Tom, and I am really pumped up about the future of this magazine. Our community is one of the fast track to greatness with our logic and comin sense approach to operating a world class forum. This is my ambition, to be the best we can be.

Hi

E. >>

Hi mate :D ,How are you? :)

PC >>

Well, I'm fine. Thanks. And you?

E. >>

I'm good. Thanks. Shall we blast-off with our interview?

PC >>

Sure.

E. >>

Great. How old are you?

PC >>

I'm 29.

E. >>

Cool. Soon to be a ‘Rocker Kung-Fu Panda’ eh?

PC >>

No, I like the idea of keeping some youngness in myself, especially during some activities. It's important to stay young sometimes and not aging as an old walrus on the iceberg, without energy.

E. >>

How long have you been an admin here at W-BB?

PC >>

I think it's been almost 5 months now :)

E. >>

How many hours do you devote for W-BB?

PC >>

That depends of the period; I used to spend almost 10 hours a day on BB when I was unemployed, but now it's more something like 2 hours on weekdays and 5-6 on weekends.

E. >>

What are your responsibilities as an administrator in W-BB?

PC >>

I'm in charge of general security and legal concerns, as well as the external contacts like with advertisers and partners. I also held a position of marketing analyst for global development of BB in IT.

E. >>

I’ve seen you a lot in the IRC network. Are you also an IRC op?

PC >>

Yes, I used to be a lot on IRC these last years. I was operating at a network called Linknet, which welcomes most of the top scene channels. IRC is a genuine protocol, easy & stable that made and still does a lot for virtual socialism, and it was widely used as chat protocol before IMs like MSN Messenger were designed.

E. >>

Yes, IRC aids engaging conversations. I love the IRC, for it helps me to socialize and engage in fruitful conversations with many people. It's always funny to see that I've missed 20 lines after I bat my eyelids. lol

E. >>

How long have you been a part of the scene?

PC >>

Well, it's been around 14 years now, I did my first lessons on BBS :) How about you?

E. >>

Wow. Thats a lot. I've been around for approximately 6 years now.

PC >>

You haven't known Buccaneer's tragedy.

E. >>

Nope.

PC >>

It was the fair time when authorities acted towards cyber criminals and not little customers like you and me.

E. >>

Yes. Warez is sharing. Cyber criminals inflict serious damage. It is sad that authorities decide to go after soft targets. However, due to the location of our server, we are operating within the rules laid out before us.

PC >>

Warez-BB officiates like a service provider; allowing people to send messages to others and nothing else. We only supply physical facilities.

Depending on the rules of your country, it may not be legal to download and upload but also share information, which leads to warez. Abiding by the laws of the land is important. However, Warez-BB does not support piracy and it is open to any request in order to get some of the messages our members posted deleted. The site is only supplying people with physical facilities to allow them to talk to each other, and cannot be held as responsible of what people may do while using this service. It is like suing an ISP IS for letting his customer downloading copyrighted contents; I hope our society won't turn into such an Idiocracy.

E. >>

That’s true. I'm certain people are more civilized and understand the services provided.

E. >>

Do you believe that the IRC protocol is the successors to BBS ?

PC >>

Nope, IRC is not the successor of BBS. Warez-BB and web forums are. The BBS are bulletin board system; to make it simple, they were forums hosted on protocols other than HTTP (telnet for example). There are still BBS alive; they just aren't used anymore for warez activities. Diamond Mine is a well-known and still alive BBS. [code] telnet://bbs.dmine.net [/code]

E. >>

Yes. Possibly because of the low speeds and emergence of new technologies which have made BBS a thing of the past. Moreover, I believe that the modern generation feels more comfortable using a browser.

PC >>

Yeah, I think it's more about having real graphical viewings, than something in relation with technologies and speeds. BBS could have been improved with graphical environments.

E. >>

Yeah. It's true. I wish that people should try a few bulletin boards through telnet to really appreciate the http experience provided by W-BB.

PC >>

That's a change :)

E. >>

As an admin on a warez-forum, how much do you upload/download?

PC >>

I've never uploaded, I used shelltrade on topscene and also remoteuploading to few web-based hosters but I stopped it due to the risks it generated.

PC >>

About downloading, well I download quite much I have to confess. I'm really a fan of music & movies in general.

E. >>

I've always remote-uploaded. I like to remote files between RS servers myself. I download many books and tutorials to help me with my education. I also download movies and music. It would be weird if I confess that I entered W-BB for the E-Books. The E-Bookz section is a repository of information, which has left me awestruck at times. :D

PC >>

I buy my books in library – probably for the paper, its smell and its portability :)

E. >>

I collect documentaries and TV shows for my parents.

PC >>

It's cool that you help your parents.

What did HT do? He oversaw the site and managed it. Who made you admin? It was a decision made by the admin staff at the time, Coolyou, Hot Tuna and PC. Hot Tuna is the one that promoted me and informed me of the promotion. How is your job as an admin different from that of a S-Mod? What are your new challenges? (Uses his Rocker wisdom) Being admin...ah this question is tough...for me; it is kind of like being the manager of a business and having 30 employees underneath you. Moderators do a lot of work closing reports and checking links. This is not all they do of course, but that is the majority of it. For me, as admin, I make sure that everyone is doing an acceptable portion of his or her job and that it is being done correctly. Typically, I do not have an extremely strict set of rules that the moderators have to follow, because if they have made it to the mod and even more so the S-Mod level, there is a level of No this is not all I do, but it does take up the most time. mod discretion that is allowed. Now, You are the new supervisor eh‌ Very nice! Did you ever expect to be made an admin? No. How does it feel like to be the Admin of the world's largest Warez forum? I love it. WBB is a great place to be. <3 What motivates you to work so hard? Having the honor of being Administrator on this great site motivates me to do all that I can to help us grow and get better and better.

How many hours do you devote for W-BB? It varies. Sometimes as little as an hour a day, sometimes 5 or more hours. How long have you been part of the scene? Not that long really, in comparison. Maybe a year and a half. You took the rapid route to the throne of W-BB. Congratz. : > Yes, I guess I was lucky in that manner. Since you call yourself a late entry to the warez-scene, did you look up to anyone as a role model? I never truly looked up to anyone as a role model, but I have respect for those that put in a lot of work. Aeckz is one and another that I was impressed with when I first joined WBB was RedBull. What do you think about Wadio's success and its future? Wadio has been an excellent addition to WBB, thanks to the great staff members behind it as well as those that put in their time to host the shows. I only see it getting bigger and better in the future. We see too many people who want to donate to W-BB. When can we expect a solution to this problem? That is a tough question. PayPal does not like being associated with us, so it is nearly impossible to maintain an account with them. What is your opinion about the spamming that goes on at RC4? It’s a good release; a place where going off topic is not strictly enforced. Without it, I know that certain members would probably have found other ways to spend their time than at WBB.

Well, it started out being Gamez, but now I am more into Moviez. Do you watch any specific type of movies? What is your favorite movie? I like all kinds of genres actually. As for my favorite...that is tough. I like the original Star Wars trilogy, also all of Clint Eastwood's westerns, especially The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. As an admin on a warez-forum, how much do you download? Not that much really. Are you hooked to any T.V. shows? I just finally got around to watching the first season of Heroes... It is very good. Otherwise, I do not have any real favorites. Hogan's heroes are the best! I own the box set. : > Are you into music? Somewhat, although not as much as I used to be, because of the lack of time. Well, I would prefer something fast. Since you phrased it as a dream car, fast and expensive. :P What do you mean by "Always watching? Is it movies that you watch, is it everything in the universe, or is it just W-BB? It has to do with a previous avatar. At one time, I think it was last January/February, my avatar was a close-up of an eye. That's when I added the 'Always watching' part. But, basically it means I am always watching what's going on here at WBB. Explain your nick? Hmmm....well, it goes back a number of years.
