The Legendary MICKEY GILLEY Headlining the San Leon Oyster Fest

the original “Urban Cowboy,” mickey gilley, will be performing on stage at the San Leon oyster Fest april 27. this annual festival (in it’s third year) helps fund oyster conservation efforts, as much of the galveston Bay’s oyster beds were destroyed in the wake of hurricane harvey. San Leon residents and event co-founders Johnny and Lisa halili said they are both very excited to have the hometown (houston-area) legend headlining the event that will be held at San Leon, Pier 6 (113 6th Street), formerly Bubba’s Shrimp Palace.

the oyster Fest will start at 2 p.m. on april 27 and will feature ViP tickets (all-you-can-eat oysters), an oyster eating contest, oyster cook-offs (with amateur and professional categories), a kids zone, local vendors, craft booths, food trucks for those people who don’t particularly like oysters but want to experience the event, and an unforgettable concert experience that evening with the legendary mickey gilley. the concert is set to start at 7 p.m. with gilley singing some of his classic country hits like, “that’s all that matters to me,” “headache tomorrow, heartache tonight” or “i’m Just a Fool For Your Love.” in all, gilley has achieved a remarkable 39 top-ten country hits, with 17 of those songs reaching the No. 1 spot on the country charts. in 1976, he swept the aCm awards, hauling home trophies for entertainer of the Year, top male Vocalist, Song of the Year, Single of the Year and album of the Year. he was ranked among the top-50 country music hitmakers in the 1989 book written by record research historian Joel Whitburn. gilley began by performing in houston nightclubs. he recorded his first song in memphis for Dot records and later performed as a singer and pianist in cities throughout the South. eventually, his trek returned him to the Pasadena area, where he took up residence at the Nesadel Club and quickly developed into one of the city’s most popular acts. he opened gilley’s nightclub in 1971. (Yes. the well-known country nightclub in Pasadena with the mechanical bull that was featured in the movie Urban Cowboy.) gilley continues to maintain a residence in Pasadena, texas. his hobbies include golf, walking and flying his own airplane.

“i enjoy performing and singing as much these days as i ever have,” gilley says. “i joke that i’m semiretired. of course, i work just as hard as always. the thing about experience is, it helps you keep your priorities straight. i’m interested in quality now, not quantity. i make sure my business and my life are set up so i can get the most enjoyment out of the things i love. and the thing i love the most is getting on stage and performing a good show for people.” if you’re planning on attending this rare local performance, Lisa suggests buying tickets online (SanLeonoysterFest.com) early because they have a limited number of ViP tickets available and are expecting these tickets will sell out quickly. By now, the name inDaSkies is familiar to many as a staple on the local reggae music scene for the past several years. the group of friends, who began playing for fun in a garage back in 2012, continue to grow their fan base in texas and beyond with their distinct brand of experimental reggae.

the current lineup of Joe Serrato (rhythm guitar/vocals), ryan Damian (drums), James herrington (bass), marcus tabet (lead guitarist), David rios (percussionist), Chris ranew (keyboards) and Derrick rosette (saxophone), have continued to witness an expanding fan base with their self-described “loco music,” which derives influence from several genres of music.

“our group has grown in the past couple of years, since the release of our first eP essential Vibrations (2017), and a lot of touring, and with those changes the music has really developed,” said Serrato, who is also a founding member of the newly formed reggae trio ojos rojos. “the music now has a more experimental feel, especially with the keyboards,” he said.

“it’s really fusion-based,” added rios, who blends in instruments like the bongos and conga drums as the auxiliary percussionist. “it hones in on each individual, and what the bring to the table, and is sort of molded into a fusion with a reggae base. We’re very much integrating several genres,” he said.

and with this new sound comes a new eP, new local performances, and a summer tour in the works.

“our new eP is called the Last Chapter, recorded at Slow rolla Studios here in houston and will drop on march 25, which is actually the anniversary of our first eP release. it’ll be on presale two weeks before with hard and digital copies in our online store, along with new inDaSkies merchandise,” he added. But why the title the Last Chapter, if so much more is in the works?

“We called it that because it’s the last recording we have with Steve (mcDonald, previously on drums), who with life was changing paths and for a good reason…but it was really in homage to that, the last thing he did in the studio with us,” Serrato said, noting that both ePs have been and will be available on every digital platform, plus as CDs and digital downloads at their upcoming performances. to accompany the new eP will be numerous upcoming performances with other major reggae acts in the Clear Lake area and all throughout houston.

“We’re really honored to share the stage soon with legends like the Wailers (on april 19 at Warehouse Live in houston), which is going to be really nice with their full unit now back together,” Serrato said.

in march, however, fans can get a double-dose of loco music on St. Patrick’s Day at Palapa Bar in Kemah during the day, then at Lucky’s Pub in houston (with audic empire) that night. Later in the month, inDaSkies will open for Badfish: a tribute to Sublime at White oak music hall in houston on march 29.

Nick and the groove – does the name sound familiar? if it doesn’t, prepare to be blown away soon and instantly turned into a fan! What started as a few teenagers first jamming together at the School of rock in Clear Lake has quickly turned into band not to be missed. Perhaps what might be even more striking? all members are between 16 and 19, and in less than a year have garnered the attention of major area events, radio and television outlets, not to mention hundreds of thousands of views on Youtube and beyond.

Nick and the groove’s lineup currently includes Nick Connors and his wicked lead vocals heading up the band, along with erich Niekamp (lead guitar/backing vocals), emily Klang (bass/backing vocals), raine mcClane (keyboard/guitar/backing vocals), and Caeden Breneman (drums). Breneman said, “it sort of all started when i wanted to put a band together, and wanted my friend erich in it as well. there were three of us at first, including Nick, and eventually emily and raine joined us, too. We first played at my graduation party last June, and the ‘Barracuda’ video went crazy,” referring to the band’s cover of “Barracuda” by heart that has gone viral, catching the attention of popular houston morning radio host rod ryan of the rod ryan Show on 94.5 the Buzz, the lead page of reddit, several news stations, and to date over 600,000 views on Youtube, with a flurry of comments that reflect what those who have attended a Nick and the groove performance can attest to: Connor’s powerhouse vocals flawlessly transition from Whitney houston to Prince to rush, in tandem with Niekamp’s shredding skills on the guitar, and rounded out by Klang’s, mcClane’s, and Breneman’s stellar musicianship and arrangements on their respective instruments.

“a month or two after our first gig in June, i would say people really started to notice us,” said Breneman. “they started asking us to play their venues, and different parties, and from there started really getting a lot of support.”

it was in this time that their cover of Chris Stapleton’s “tennessee Whiskey” also went viral, a video that today, through strong fan support shown through a daily voting process, helped to advance them as one of only five semifinalists—beating out dozens of other submissions— in the houston rodeo rockstar Finals competition, which will take place in march as part of the houston Livestock Show & rodeo.

“We are extremely happy! We were all really hoping to make it,” said Breneman. Success of this kind didn’t just happen overnight, however. though all members are in high school or just recently graduated, they have all poured their hearts into music for many years. “i’ve played drums my whole life, and erich has been playing guitar forever as well. Nick has been singing so long that he’s done gigs and National anthems for the astros, the rockets, and the texans, even before the band started. emily has played bass for over ten years, and raine has been playing keys for a long time as well,” he said.

greetings! February was a flurry in many good ways and suggests 2019 should be a good year too. We’ll see if our hunch pans out but in the meantime, let’s slow down a bit and run down some of the many things that went down.

LiVe MOJO - the streak continues… i keep a copy of the SCeNe at the office and during lunch, give it a look-over for live music shows to see. When i saw the band Live mojo on the card at Katie’s, i knew it was a go! had never heard of them…. <lol> our first clue was that we had to drive around the block a couple times to find parking. our second clue was arriving to a full house with practically every table reserved. our third clue was spotting Bert Wills in the house… the ultimate surprise was finding out this was a throw-down band with Bob emmons in the Frontman spot, Joe Campise on the kit, Barry Seelen on the B3, and a cadre musicians sharing the stage. it was sorta like the ringo Starr & his all-Star Band show. i’ve said it before, i’ll say it again, “Pick a night, any night. haven’t heard of the band? it doesn’t matter. Stop in at Katie’s, and you’ll catch a good one!” and remember, there’s never a cover.

FLiCK BOWL 2019 - the scuttlebutt had interest in professional football low this season, but you couldn’t tell this to fans at t-Bone tom’s where a larger-than-ever gathering was present for Super Bowl Liii, and better yet, the 7th annual t-Bone tom’s Flick Ball Championship. Under Commission & head Umpire, Bruce Cote, this year’s championship was competitive the prize pool bigger than ever, and the night’s treasures “up there.” great job, Bruce!!! Winners throughout the season were present to compete for this year’s title and the flicking was fierce. elimination flick-offs were necessary, and in the end, the winner of this year’s Flick Bowl trophy was Ventura Berrones. Jerrod Shriver was runner-up champion and ryan Williams secured 3rd place flick ball honors. all three scored cool loot… Congratulations! thanks to all the great sponsors, to Bruce, the t-Bone tom’s staff and to all who were a part! hAPPY FRieNdLY sPiRiTs - are the norm at railean Distillery and Buccaneer Bar and for many reasons. each time, we stop in, we are welcomed with a friendly crowd of familiar regulars and always leave having connected dots with new acquaintances. this place has an incredible cocktail menu and this evening, we went with their fantastic rum cocktails: the Castaway, Flamingo, and the red headed Pirate. they make all of their refreshing cocktails with fresh juices, so one gets credit for drinking to their health at railean. aside from their clever concoctions, this place is live music-friendly, and we enjoyed an evening with the Night Bird trio. People i chat with tell me they enjoy this band when they’re not performing their regular Fleetwood mac tribute gig. rather delving into casual comfortable covers.

Keyboard/vocalist Kelly thompson was unavailable this evening, and we got the chance to hear Brooke allison and Wolff DeLong with the band’s new guitarist, John Lassen, for an evening of refreshing and creative improv cover band jamming. Lassen is a great addition (a musical Verlander in my opinion) to the band, once played with the Fab 5 as george iii, and tastefully plays a powerful lead guitar on an exceptionally well-voiced acoustic instrument. Not an easy feat. he passed along that he studied Steve howell (Yes!) and practices everything on the acoustic, which would be like an athlete going through resistance. makes sense to me… - Continued on Page 39

FOOd, FOOd, FOOd - February’s weather was fickle, forcing the need to take things inside. Fortunately, we had the Clear Lake area Chamber of Commerce’s epicurean evening and Seabrook rotary Club’s men Who Cook XXV annual Charity gala. rather than working on shedding the added holiday pounds, we piled on more… <vbgrin>

a perfect sized multi-generational turnout showed up at Space Center houston for this year’s epicurean evening making for a perfect pleasant and fun experience. Nobody went home hungry. adding to the ambience were generous servings of live music from Jordan applebe and richard rose at the Crazy alan’s Swamp Shack booth and the mamacita’s mariachi band filling the cavernous Space Center houston building. there was a nice balance of new establishments along with event stalwarts, which seemed to me a good leading indicator for the Clear Lake area days ahead. it Velvet Punch @ Seabrook Men Who Cook was good catching up with old friends and making new acquaintances.

the Seabrook’s rotary Club men Who Cook has been an annual event people look forward to. this year, i was blessed to finally be able to attend. Wow! What a SCeNe!!! the Lakewood Yacht Club was the perfect location for this year’s fundraiser for Seabrook Police officers association Charities. the raffles and aucMore Men Who Cook photos on Page XX tions were perhaps the best in terms of loot, design, and effectiveness we’ve ever seen. an exciting new addition to men Who Cook was a raffle for $10,000 in pure gold coinage. While the drawing for riches was happening up front, Velvet Punch was shaking things up in the ballroom. Something for everybody and everybody for a great cause. this is how it should work. and the years of hard work and dedication is certainly now paying off, landing gig upon gig around the houston area and beyond to a wildly growing fan base. “We are extremely excited to open for KiSS alike this month at Jackie’s Brickhouse. We’re also looking forward to performing on the Pleasure Pier in galveston, and the 2019 alvin music Festival,” he said, noting there are several other dates scheduled around houston in march as well. With this newfound attention and numerous upcoming dates, the future of Nick and the groove is looking brighter than ever.

“We are writing our own original music right now and taking a more creative route, with everything really going in the direction of original music. We realize we have the opportunity of a lifetime here, to do what we love to do, and we don’t take that for granted,” Breneman said.

So what can those who haven’t attended a Nick and the groove performance expect?

“You can expect to be wowed. that’s what i thought when i listened to Nick for the first time! his voice is unique and really powerful, and we all bring something different, actually. and that’s what i like about it – we’re a unique group of individuals coming together to show everyone a great time,” he said. Nick and the groove performs next at Jackie’s Brickhouse in Kemah on march 16 at 9 p.m., followed by a show at the Pleasure Pier in galveston on the 17th (and the 30th), 2-a-Days in Pearland on the 22nd, and the 2019 alvin music Festival on the 23rd. “We are really excited about the summer tour, with our final ‘coming home’ show to wrap up the tour at Scout Bar on July 14. that night, there will be several great texas bands on the bill as well,” rios said. “inDaSkies will also be hosting a festival of all genres in late summer with several national bands and local bands, so stay tuned for details on that!” he added. Whether it’s here in Clear Lake, throughout the houston area, or even from the east to the West Coast—whether it’s new members, or new ePs, however— one thing remains true for the band: “it’s still our loco music straight up, but with new music and a fresh new experience with our performances,” Serrato said. “Unity through music, though…that is always the goal.”

sONiC CAVeRN - Which would be the Cock-eyed Seagull with it’s high ceilings, hard walls and wood floors – a room built specifically for live music. in 2019, live music came to the Seagull in big fashion with the Pee Wee Bowen Band featuring Pee Wee Bowen on lead vocals, Ken Woodard drums, ralph rifon sax, Jim Fulton guitar, marion Lewis trumpet, Jeff Warner bass and John Bockelman piano. on this evening, the music was tight, the sound big, and the fun knob was waaaaaay past the stops.

this band has, in my opinion, has one of the best local fan followings happening these days. their fans attend shows in numbers anytime and anywhere. this makes sense as not only do they put on a show of what their fans want, they also have one of the spiffier websites (http://www.peeweebowenband.com) complete with clever old fashion poster style show announcements. Perhaps the only other sites i see similar are those created by thomas Wilson (Scout Bar) and Jonas Lorence. aspiring musicians, pay heed – promotions count and doesn’t grow on trees….

hOMeCOMiNG - many of you were a part throughout the years making t-Bone tom’s the troprock’s 2018 Live music Venue of the Year. great job, people!!! With this honor has been a steady stream of troprock artists over the years to the t-Bone’s palapa covered patio and in February, the packed house of diners and dancers enjoyed the Jonas Lorence Band.

We covered Jonas Lorence a few months ago and knew a follow up was in order. this Clear Lake high alum has established himself on the troprock circuit as a full time professional musician in the austin hill Country. his website (http://www.jonaslorence.com), clearly shows a successful and effective promotion campaign along the old myspace format, packed with easy to follow digital posters, calendars and links. if you are an aspiring musical artist and self-promote, may i suggest you check out Jonas’ website for ideas? Feel free to check, too, if you’re simply seeking a fun show to see.

musically, i was initially dubious that Parrot heads existed far inland, but came to learn that there are active flocks in Central texas and Canyon Lake. Cool! i really like what the troprock music association has been doing – providing fresh entertainment throughout North america to the patrons and t-Bone’s. in return, listeners get a chance to hear music from other music hubs. me? i got to hear “Whiskey river” from my honeysuckle rose days an enjoyable flashback… Put the Jonas Lorence Band on your watch list. While you’re at it, do the same with any of the troprock associated show.

TOuR sTOP CLeAR LAKe - Which would be Scout Bar, the self described “Concert Lounge” in the Clear Lake area. in February, a hUge tour bus was parked in the parking lot and we partook of the final stop of the Shaggy 2 Dope (aka Joseph Ustler) nationwide tour along with a house of Ninjas for a night of juggalo whoop whoop! Nothing was held back on this final night and the faithful fans were well-treated. Juggalo is a genre not requiring tons of instruments and amps, it packs pretty tight and it turned out the huge bus was for the full entourage. opening for Shaggy 2 including ouija, tre Lb, maCC, & the White Noize. So what? this meant the entire entourage traveled together and traveled well making for great show from all of the acts... Clever! the singing this evening piped along at an impressive 300-360 beats per minute (bpm) with flurries hitting 430 to 500. People, this is “fast” and not a trivial accomplishment. You try it…. in the “oh so Shaggy 2 Dope close” arena, there were several moments of things @ Scout Bar going into mosh pit mode (remember those?) but managed to keep things at the serious bouncing level. aside from their music, you can tell lots about a band and their follow from their web pages. Shaggy 2 Dope’s page took me by surprised with prevalent posts of food drives for the homeless shelters and love of friends and family. there was no doubt the entire evening of the artists’ dedication to their music which i earlier attributed it to being their last night of the tour until i spotted the 8-inch tall treble clef tattoo running adjacent and along the jugular the entire length of tre Lb’s neck – music beyond skin deep… toUr StoP CLear LaKe…. ANGeLs & OuTLAWs ReVieW - i got my copy of zach tate’s 6th album in February for review. if an award were to be given for the top-self produced album, the zach tate Band would be on this list. the packaged product is complete with lyrics, credits, graphic arts, and quality recordings that aren’t simply heard, but stimulates one’s muse and imagination. i would suggest aspiring musicians score themselves a copy as a reference standard of what printed music media should be. Something seemed different in this sixth album, i believe it was a surgical use of a flanger by guitarist Lynn raggio creating a tone, along with one-of-akind playing, making for a sound that’s truly unique and belongs to the zach tate Band. Subtle, edgy, and the holy grail… good job!

twelve of the thirteen songs conform to the 3 to 4 minute duration song standard, but they have passages in place that can easily expand for endless instrumentals (and movie scenes). the first song, outlaw, is a 6 minute anthem which provides an example of what such extended passages would be. all of the songs are uniquely written to trigger the imagination and flashbacks of the every-person listener who has lived and had “that” moment in life. the album is a welcoming safe place to reflect as well as imagine. good songs do that...

i’ve come to associate the ztB with festival, rallies, ice houses and waterfront settings. however, this album demonstrates he and the boys are fully capable of taking the show anywhere on any day. as one of the strongest local self-produced live music gigs happening these days. i’m expecting we should start seeing this band on more of the regional big stages up and down the 146 corridor and places beyond. Book ’em! Until then, you can always enjoy them on the SCeNe and be sure and get yourself a copy of angels and outlaws. okay?

Butler Longhorn Museum Re-Opens After Hurricane Harvey’s Destruction

it has been 18 months since hurricane harvey hit the area and many are still rebuilding. Butler Longhorn museum in League City is one that has had a long haul and is finally open and recently had their first event with the rodeo Western art Show from the Lutheran South academy high school students.

Plans are being made now with upcoming events and classes. the building had damage up the walls and wiped out the beautiful historical murals because of 2 feet of water on the first floor. exhibits on the second floor were heavily damaged after strong winds damaged the roof allowing the heavy rain in. But things are bouncing back with a new color scheme and new historic photos of the early days in League City and other projects thanks to executive Director monica hughes and her staff, curator, and team of wonderful volunteers. “We had our grand re-opening recently and are still recovering but so happy we have the doors open tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. our education and art classes are starting, and events are on the books. We invite everyone to come see League City’s hidden treasure,” said hughes.

the museum is still in need of funds and donations are being accepted to help this museum that traces the history of the Longhorn cattle breed with western artifacts and videos from milby Butler and more. it has become a tourist attraction for unique cultural displays and western art, Longhorn artifacts and texas historical items. it also is a great event place for parties and weddings with a historical setting. the museum’s heritage Park is an interesting field trip and family picnic location with bird watching too. the museum is expected to be included the guinness Book of

Conway stated she often starts a project with a blank canvas. She declared, “Something might trigger a response. i get into painting and just start.” She reported other art is generated out of necessity; a need for student samples or to demonstrate how to use new materials. Conway disclosed, “i meet people in their formative years. i get to put in the different ways of looking at things and end up with life-long friends. i’m always amazed how many of my students end up in art-related fields. i have a desk full of thank you letters that make me cry. i try to be a good inspiration.” Conway applies her artful gift for herself and her students. She’s making her own new statement; “those who can, do; and also teach.”

Lakewood Yacht Club’s 64th Blessing of the Fleet • March 31

Lakewood Yacht Club's activities calendar stays full year round, but the annual Blessing of the Fleet is one of the longest-standing traditions at the Club each spring. this year's Blessing will take place march 31 on the Club's beautifully decorated grounds in front of members and guests who will dress for the occasion. men will don their white slacks and blazers, and the ladies will raid their wardrobes for classy nautical attire.

“each year, members who have recently joined Lakewood, those who have purchased a new vessel, long-term members who have not previously christened their boat and those who enjoy the ceremony and want to re-christen their boat, participate in this afternoon of celebration and naval tradition,” said LYC Fleet Captain gary romer. "Participating boats Dress Ship and participants invite friends and family to join them in celebrating the christening of their boat, the blessing of the Lakewood fleet and the opening of the Club's sailing season."

LYC was honored to host the texas Sailing association (tSa) Kickoff event for 2019/2020 season Feb. 9-10, which had 75 boats visiting Seabrook from all over texas.

“a huge thanks to all those parents, volunteers and LYC staff for their efforts to make this an outstanding semana internacional del Yachting in Argentina event,” says LYC Waterfront Director terry Flynn. Lakewood sailors represented well at the top of the fleets including seven sailors earning top-three finishes.

Concurrently, on Feb. 9-10, tony Slowik, Lucas tenrreiro, ava anderson, maddie Janzen, William Baker and matias martin, alongside the head opti Coach Bernat gali Bou, traveled to South america to compete in the annual Semana internacional del Yachting, hosted by the Club Nautico mar del Plata and Yacht Club argentino, both located in mar del Plata, argentina. in their 54th edition, this competition, one of the most important in South america, attracted 730 sailors in 14 different fleets, with a record number of 232 optimists registered. the US was represented by sailors coming from Lauderdale, LiSot, Chicago and miami as well as the Lakewood Yacht Club. the weather proved to be gorgeous during five days of fantastic sailing, with a wide range of conditions, from 6 to 25 knots, blowing from different directions and a swell difficult to find anywhere in the US. temperatures moved from the low 70s to the high 80s and provided some epic sailing, allowing the regatta organizers to complete 15 races in five days, the full program. the format of the regatta was simple, with four days of qualifying, 12 races in total, plus one day of semana internacional del Yachting in Argentina finals consisting of three more races. the 232 sailors were divided into three fleets the first four days, while on the final day, they were split into gold, Silver and Bronze.

after 15 races, tony Slowik led the team finishing in a fantastic 11th position overall after a great week of sailing. tony proved to be able to adapt very well to the variable conditions, and finished 2nd top US sailor in the regatta. Following tony was Lucas tenrreiro, who had a very consistent day in gold Fleet, and placed 29th overall, overcoming some tactical issues and sailing very smart at the end. LYC sailor maddie Janzen adapted very well to her first regatta in big waves, and finished 50th and 3rd overall in the Junior Fleet, 11 years old and under, finishing top 30 in the all her races in gold Fleet. Following maddie was ava anderson, who probably sailed her best regatta yet and finished the gold Fleet in an incredible 9th in the last race. the last Lakewood sailor in gold Fleet was William Baker, who despite struggling with starts all Championship, finished 60th in gold Fleet.

DIVERSE WORKS

By Kelley dawson From a South Dakota shepherdess to a Seabrook art teacher, Kersten Conway’s life is as diverse as her artwork. She told her first project was an illustration book titled ‘the Lost Pony’ which she drew in preschool. Conway said she’s been creating art ever since. her artistic skills are numerous including weaving, jewelry-making, painting with various mediums, pottery, and stained glass.

“as a teacher, you learn all aspects,” stated Conway. She began teaching art and english almost 30 years ago. She moved to texas in 2005 and has been solely teaching art.

Conway revealed, “the move was blind faith in god. i had done so much for others and decided to do something for me. i didn’t know a soul and had never been before.” though Conway’s move to texas was a big step for her; she had moved around a lot as a child. She attended 13 schools before she was out of high school. it’s possible all Conway’s moving around developed into her love of travel. She mentioned, “i don’t like to be still. i’d rather be doing something.”

Conway informed that many people believe the opposable thumb sets humans apart from animals. “i think it’s the creative spirit, something that makes a statement; a creative urge,” she expressed. Conway added, “god gives us all different gifts. it’s up to us to use them.”

Conway employs her visionary talents to find the extraordinary in the ordinary. as a self-professed “hands-on, do-it-yourself” person; Conway not only works with her hands, she produces pieces others will want to touch with their hands. Conway explained her pottery is tactile and textural as well as practical. She said she was once told she treats pottery like fabric. it seems a fair assessment. her creations are intricate, full of depth, and appear almost woven or cloth-like. Conway’s paintings embody her belief that everything has a story. her paintings engage the viewer with color and whisper their narrative through unique composition. Conway’s home resembles a museum. She joked, “i’m looking for gallery space. i’m not sure where else i would put something.”

New entrees on the menu include Chilean Sea Bass, grilled Salmon, Blackened redfish and other seafood dishes. making an encore appearance on the updated menu is the fan-favorite, oysters rockefeller from outriggers, as well as raw oysters on the half shell. Special chef features will be offered every week with plans to add the most popular features to the menu that will continue to expand as they continue to know their customer base.
