SCWHLA Cancer Benefit Horse ShowClemson, South Carolina CLEMSON, SC-The South Carolina Ladies Auxiliary Cancer Benefit Horse Show in Clemson, SC was held April 12th and 13th, 2013. This was a huge start for the Carolinas and was one of the largest and most exciting shows so far this season. Trainers, exhibitors, and owners came from South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Virgina to strut their stuff. World Champions, Reserve World Champions, International Champions, and Stake Champions came to defend their titles. They competed professionally and aggressively. The horses that entered the ring were free moving, head shaking, and had great natural back ends and front ends. It was difficult to decide whether the horses were more talented in the open classes, the amateur classes, or the juvenile classes. The three honorable judges were Newton Parks, Murfreesboro, TN, Dwaine Elliott, Valdese, NC and Jeff Daniel, Oxford, NC. The South Carolina Ladies Auxiliary made everyone feel welcome and kept the show moving in a timely, smooth manner. During the days, the exhibitors and trainers came to the show grounds to enjoy each other’s company and to focus on getting their horses ready for the Friday and Saturday night shows. Many new friendships were formed during the daytime sessions. The final class was called to the ring. Leaving with the top honors was Rtiz On The Corner with Sam Martin riding for owner Ginger Hartlein. This talented Reserve World Champion was presented by Martin Training Center from Leesville, SC. This farm carried home many other blue ribbons along with their Championship title.

The Scoop For The Walking Horse Industry Affiliate with ETWHA The ETWHA board has voted to not have any boundaries to any show that would like to affiliate with ETWHA. Also in order for the show to affiliate with ETWHA there cannot be another show on the same day within a 100 mile radius. Previously it had been voted to have 10 walking classes, ETWHA Members Only class, and the ETWHA Ladies Auxiliary. It has been changed that it is NOT a requirement to have the Ladies Auxiliary class in order to affiliate with ETWHA. Requirements are 10 walking classes and the ETWHA Members class. If you know of any show managers please pass this information on to them as well we will be sending the updated information to the show managers.
PERFORMANCE INDUSTRY SUMMIT 2013 Dear TWHBEA Member or Expired Member, First I want to thank you for your current or past membership in TWHBEA. We truly have the world’s greatest horse. As you are aware we have recently suffered some extremely bad press due to the actions of a few. Please know that TWHBEA is committed to the horse first. We have a zero tolerance for abuse of any kind and will not tolerate it. TWHBEA is currently experiencing financial difficulties for a number of reasons. The breeding of horses in the U.S. of all breeds is down significantly. This downward trend has greatly affected our revenue. A large portion of our budget comes from registering new foals each year. While we cannot make people breed horses and register these foals we do have the ability to help TWHBEA in a very meaningful way. Membership revenues are a fantastic way to support our great horse. If youonce were a member we need you back and want to understand why you left. If you just forgot and have your renewal sitting on your desk we need you to send it in. If you are a current member we thank you and appreciate your commitment to our organization. It seems during times of uncertainty people often hideout and wait for the cloud to blow over. We need our members now more than ever. As the Owner’s Exhibitors V.P. of TWHBEA I am asking you to support our great horse. The integrity and the history of our horse needs to be safeguarded for the future generations to foster and enjoy. Your membership will make a difference. Thanks in advance for your consideration, Jason A. Bachert Vice President Owners Exhibitors International

CAJUN CLASSIC WEST MONROE, LA. HORSE SHOW~~~CAJUN STYLE
Those Louisiana Cajuns know how to put on a horse show! On April 19 & 20, the Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe, LA hosted the Cajun Classic. After a cloudy and windy Thursday, the sun came out for two full days of well filled classes. The honorable Andy Simpson from Big Rock, TN. made the trip to mark the cards in the well filled classes. Terry Young captured pictures of the lucky winners. Many of the exhibitors, who are fans of the popular reality series, Duck Dynasty, took advantage of the close proximity of the Duck Commander Warehouse to pay a visit and shop for handmade duck calls. Three exceptionally talented horses entered the ring for the championship class. When the winner was called, Dale Watts rode to the blue for Carole Canerday with Jazz Me Up and Edgar Abernathy for Dr. Lance and Rhonda Lincoln accepting the red ribbon and third place to Jeff Givens on the popular Incredible for Mrs. Joann Dowell.

Marshall County Horseman’s Association Versatility Series LEWISBURG, TN-The Marshall County Horseman’s Association Versatility Series hosted their horse show on April 20, 2013. The show started promptly at 1:00 pm and the judge for the event was the honorable Jeff Green of Shelbyville, TN. The show was sponsored by the Marshall County Horseman’s Association and was held on Robin Hood Road at the Marshall Expo Center in Lewisburg, TN. Casual attire was all that was required however, creating a laid back atmosphere in collar shirts and jeans, but the competition was second to none. The show affiliated with Performance Show Horse Association and the 26 class event was a huge success. The show had many top trainers, riders and horses come out to support the show. Many spectators enjoyed their time with firends and horses! Make plans to attend the Marshall County Horseman Horse show on July 26, 2013.
