Following a time of food and fellowship, awards w ere p res ented to th e w i nners i n eac h R i d ers ’ C u p d i vi s i o n, as w el l as , th o s e au x i l i ary members that were voted specific honors. Riding to the top of the leader’s board in the Performance Riders’ Cup division for 2021 was Jimmy McConnell. Laurie Toone topped the chart in the Riders’ Cup Pleasure division. This is a huge honor, annually, because it is voted on by their fellow trainers. In the Pleasure division, Dickie Gardner received Trainer of the Year and Victoria Kalosis received Assistant Trainer of the Year for a second year in a row. In the Performance division, John Allan Callaway won Trainer of the Year with Sam Martin winning Assistant Trainer of the Year. AUXILIARY ELECTS OFFICERS The WHT Ladies’ Auxiliary held a meeting on Friday, December 10th in conjunction with the Walking Horse Trainers Association’s annual banquet. This hard-working group of ladies elected their new officers for the upcoming show year. Those elected are the same as 2021: President- Sarah Smith; First Vice President- Susan Coleman; Second Vice President- Kari Tisma; Heather Beard- Secretary and Allison Becknell- Treasurer.
