United Walking Horse Fall Finale Hits Jackpot In Tunica
TUNICA, MS- A new horse show hit the 2022 show schedule and it was a great success! With combined efforts from FAST, TWHBEA, TWHNC and WHTA, the United Walking Horse Fall Finale was created and held at the Paul Battle Arena on November 10th -12th. The Hollywood Casino was chosen as the host hotel for visitors. Jamie Hankins, Newton Parks and Aaron Self served as judges. 66 classes were offered throughout the three-day show, and 42 of the classes were tied unanimously. The Walking Horse Stake welcomed three entries. OBITUARY- BECKY BULL On November 15, 2022 Rebecca Sue (England) Bull, 66, of Jefferson City, Tennessee passed away at Fort Sanders Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was 66 years old. She was born on May 17, 1956 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Eugene and Arnetta Bray England, and was raised in Tazewell, Tennessee. She was the eldest of four children. Rebecca was totally dedicated to her children and grandchildren. She l ed r e i e er fi er er eing nd n id ni er i Tennessee football fan. In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth England. Survivors include two sons- Brandon (Sandy) Lambert of New Market and Brian (Angela) Lambert of Beechgrove, Tennessee; two grandchildren- Bryan Austin Lambert and Paiton Eliza Lambert; two sisters Sabrina Ramsey of Ashville, North Carolina and Paula England of Tazewell, Tennessee. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date (TBD) at Panther Creek State Park with friends and family. The Scoop was honored to have Becky serve as a correspondent at East Tennessee horse shows and we will miss her. We send our deepest sympathies to her family.
WHOA ANNOUNCES 2023 TRIPLE CROWN The Walking Horse Owners Association will host the Triple Crown Show Series in 2023. The inaugural year was 2022, and it was a huge success. Mark your calendar for the following dates: *March 30-April 1, 2023- Escambia County Equestrian Center in Pensacola, Florida *The second of the three shows is pending show grounds availability and will soon be announced. Darrin Wayne Sisk of Walterboro, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on Wednesday afternoon, November 9, 2022. He was 57 years old. Darrin was born October 18, 1965, in Rocky Face, Tennessee. He was the son of Mary Katherine Love Sisk and the late Jerry Wayne Sisk. Darrin had worked over thirty years, a long and dedicated career, with the Department of Disability and Special Needs in Walterboro and was currently serving as Director, Day Services. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Walterboro, where he had been a member of the Chancel Choir, as well as The Handbell Choir. One of Darrin’s greatest passions in life was horses. His love for Tennessee Walking Horses took great precedence in his life, and along with his wife, he traveled extensively to show their horses, even winning an esteemed World Grand Champion Ribbon at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in Shelbyville, Tennessee. In addition to his mother, survivors include his beloved wife, Linda White Sisk; a daughter, Sarah Sisk Cronan (Weston); a grandson, Lawson Cronan; and a sister, Sherri Kaye Sisk. He is also survived by Linda’s daughter, Jennifer Koblan (Ken) and their children, Chase and Rachel; as well as his beloved dog, “Etta”. A talented musician, he had served as pianist with Zion Baptist Church; Memorials may be directed there in his memory: Zion Baptist Church, 152 fin d, l er r , S r lin A private family memorial service will be held to celebrate his life. OBITUARY- JEAN POARCH Jean Poarch, age 90, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 16, 2022, surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her son, Ronal Young; parents Dennis and Emma Johns; daughter-in-law Judy Young; brother Dennis Johns Jr.: sisters, Faye Scott, Model Kendrick, Anner Lou Ridley, Syble Green, Betty Steelman, Bobbie Jo Stanley.
