YMCA Playing to Learn is our preschool curriculum designed for children from infancy to six years. Child-directed opportunities support the development of self-esteem and self-help skills, language and literacy skills, and create the foundation of knowledge in math, science and the arts. YMCA A Place to Connect is our school-age curriculum for children 6-12 years. Mondays Art Adventure

Children will explore, experiment and manipulate various sculpting materials. Children learn painting techniques, and create with a diverse selection of recyclable material to foster imagination, experience a sense of accomplishment and enhance creative thinking.

Fun Factory

This program is a great combination of fun games, creative crafts, cooking and exploration. Each week the instructor will have a surprise that allows children to be creative and use their imagination.

Movin’ and Groovin’

Children will be involved in an energetic fun program. Enjoy action songs, dance, action games, and everything from classical to hip-hop music.

Martial Arts 1

Through structured physical activity, participants learn self-discipline. Instructors utilize various techniques to give them the ultimate workout.

Martial Arts 2

Through structured physical activity, participants learn self-discipline. Instructors utilize various techniques to give them the ultimate workout. This martial arts program will assist in developing speed, flexibility, balance and coordination.

Kindergym 1

This program is designed to encourage preschoolers to increase their body awareness, coordination, flexibility and balance through physical activity. Children participate in developmentally appropriate activities, games and songs using various pieces of gymnastic equipment.

Gymnastics 1

This recreational program focuses on safe progressions of skills. Children work at their own developmental pace while increasing their physical skills on floor mats, beam and vault.

Y World of Sports 1

This program allows younger athletes to try their hand at lots of fun sports. Floor hockey, indoor soccer, basketball and other active games will be part of this exciting program.

Variety and choice, team building and individual skill development, for both children and adults, are central to the program agenda and outcomes. Enjoy physical activity and social interaction in this fun, engaging program.

Family Sports and Games 6 - 12 years HOME ~ BUSINESS ~ AUTO

Enjoy physical activity and social interaction with your child in this fun, engaging program. Each week different games will take place including soccer, volleyball, floor hockey and more depending on the children’s interests.

Babysitter Training Canada Safety Council Program

Students must be 12 years of age within the calendar year.

Mini Chefs Get ready to mix measure and create in this new children’s cooking program. Children will have lots of hands-on cooking activities and will bring home a treat each week.

Tumbling Toddlers (Parent and Child) Toddlers play on a variety of gym equipment including: climbing tressels, beam, box horse, springboard, floor mats and parachute fun.

Preschool Gym Children play in an action-packed gym program designed to

develop flexibility, coordination and agility. Equipment includes beam, vault, floor mats and parachute.

Ballet Level 1

You’re the Chef

Nutrition is the focus of this fun, interactive program. Children build the skills and confidence necessary to prepare healthy, tasty recipes emphasizing vegetables and fruit. Reading labels and recipes assist children in learning about healthy eating and food preparation. Children will then have the opportunity to enjoy their creations together in an inclusive, relaxed environment.

Co-Ed Volleyball - 16 years plus

This recreational Co-ed Volleyball program is designed to help participants develop fundamental volleyball skills and sportsmanship while promoting teamwork in an active, fun environment.

Children engage in co-operative play where the emphasis is focused on math, science, creative arts and literacy while building on selfconfidence, independence and emotional awareness. This program will help to lay the foundation for a successful educational journey. Please provide drink and snack.

Children will explore experiment and manipulate various sculpting materials, use an assortment of painting techniques, and create with a diverse selection of recyclable material to foster imagination, experience a sense of accomplishment and enhance creative thinking.

Science for Kids

Science for Kids will fuel your child’s imagination an provide a fun, interactive, hands-on science experience that stimulates their mind. There are lots of discovers to be made about the world around us.

Santa’s Workshop

Need some time to get your holiday shopping complete without your children? Drop them off for a fun-filled morning where they will make ornaments or gifts for that someone special.

Holiday Baking

Baking is fun and a great way to learn and make memories especially around the holidays. Children will make yummy treats and parents have the opportunity to shop without children.

Holiday Art & Gifts

Youth will have fun, and create holiday greeting cards, wrapping paper, ginger bread house and more while parents have the opportunity to shop without your children.

• Sometimes excellent programs are cancelled because many people wait until the last minute to register so please don’t delay and register as soon as possible. Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis with limited space available in many programs. • A receipt confirming your registration will be sent to your mailing address. • For pre-school programs (2 1/2 to 5 years), children attend on their own and participate independently from parents, unless otherwise indicated. • Registration must be received at least two days prior to start date.

PROGRAM ASSISTANCE Financial support is available to those individuals or families that are unable, to pay the full fee for a YMCA program. Please call for more information.

For refunds a written request must be reviewed prior to the second class and a pro rated refund, minus $25.00 administrative fee will be granted . If the YMCA cancels a program a full refund is granted and a $30.00 charge will be applied to NSF cheques. Minimum and Maximum participant numbers apply to all programs. Refunds will not be given and or returned for days missed as a result of illness, vacation or any other situation. and a $30.00 charge will be applied to NSF cheques.
