Nasungkit ng John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Molo (JBLFMU-M) swimming team na Dolphins ang pangkalahatang kampeonato sa Binirayan Swim Fest na ginanap sa San Jose de Buenavista, Antique, ika-8 hanggang ika-9 ng Oktubre. Itinanghal na most be-medalled ng torneo sina Adriana Yulo na may 13 na ginto at Georjeana Deb Plenago na may anim na ginto, limang pilak at isang tanso. “Masaya ako/kami na maipresenta ang paaralan sa Binirayan Swim Fest. Kahit pagod sa school, pagod sa morning training and after school training. Thankful po ako sa aking mga coaches kahit na pasaway minsan pero hard works paid off padin po,” sabi ni Adriana Yulo.” Ang naturang kompetisyon ay in organisa ng Binirayan Tadpoles Swim Club na siyang nilahukan ng iba’t-ibang manlalangoy mula sa ika-6 na rehiyon tulad ng Iloilo Sea Warriors Swim Club, Capiz Turbo Sharks Swim Club, Iloilo Kraken Swim Club at ng Binirayan

Yulo, Plenago clinch slots in FINIS Swim National Championships

Attesting the Lacsonian’s prowess in swimming, two students of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Molo (JBLFMU-M) will take centerstage as Adriana Yulo and Georjeana Deb Plenago clinched a spot in the FINIS National Championships for swimming at New Clark City Aquatic Center, Capas Tarlac, December 17-18. “More than 200 swimmers from 25 teams and clubs participated in the tournament. We’re happy and proud, despite the enormous effect of Tropical Storm ‘Paeng’ in the region, a huge number of teams have confirmed their participation. ‘Yung resiliency nila is very commendable and we in Finis are doing our best to provide them an internationally-like competition environment,” said Vince Garcia, Chief Director in an interview with The Manila Times. Adriana Yulo competed in 50m, 100m, and 200m breaststroke, butterfly, freestyle, and backstroke which made her to the top against other competitors as she garnered the highest points for girls 19 and above category. “Before stepping to the pool, I know that I have the capabilities in creating history and making my name on top of the competition because I know that I trained a lot, I joined many competitions, and I am in a good condition for this leg. I am thankful that there are three of our coaches who have merged with me once, coach Mark Catalan, Brian Caluba, and Karl Jayme,” Adriana Yulo expressed. Moreover, Georjeana Deb Plenago garnered 11 medals with four gold, six silver, and 1 bronze. Plenago advanced to the national championships as she was able to secure highest points for girls 17-18 category. “Qualifying to the national finals was huge and exciting because I saw my struggles and sacrifices paid off,” said Georjeana Deb Plenago. The DOLPHINS’ Yulo and Plenago will compete against other teams from the different schools/ club teams who qualify in the FINIS national championships.
