Lot 1 H U S TO N 10 7 E T SIRE: Monopoly DAM: HCC R2 BC Marathon x Meyer 734 March 18, 2010 • Chi I visited with Dr. Michael Pugh, of Westwood Genetics about flushing our best seven or eight virgin heifers last spring. Well, as you will see for yourself, the results were more than worthwhile. Lot 1 is plain and simple, my kind of cattle. Big legged, huge ribbed, good hipped and really good in her neck and shoulder. I really don’t think you can build one any better in terms of foot and leg structure. As an added bonus, we sold her full brother to Gray Show Cattle for $7,000.

DAM of Lot 1. Owned by Dave Knupp of Orion, IL. Sold as Lot 32 (HCC R2) in 2009 HCC Sale.

Lot 2 H U S TO N 1 9 SIRE: Monopoly DAM: HCC W19 Cheap Trick x PB Red Angus April 7, 2010 • Chi Some one said Matt Lautner had a challenge or bet that Monopoly calves would out sell all other sire groups this fall. I don’t know the outcome of the bet, but I would sure think that Lot 1 & 2 here at my place would make it tough on the competition! This is a really good show heifer folks. She will be more than capable of holding her own in any race she runs next year. I know I might be a little different than most breeders, but I’m really excited about making cows out of my Monopoly heifers.

One thing about the After Shocks this year, they all seem to be flatter in their shoulder and longer necked. That just makes it that much better for raising club calves.

This might be the best one of the bunch when they reach maturity. So good in her lines, and really good hair for an After Shock. These are really big boned heifers with a huge foot under them.

Lot 26 HUSTON 60

SIRE: Black Label DAM: Angus Y3 A.I.: 6/8/2010 Tryon

Lot 27

What a bred to lead off the Maine-Anjou influenced section. This Black Label daughter is everything a person would want in terms of a donor cow. Her shear power alone is enough to make the mind wonder what could happen?

HUSTON 57

SIRE: Whiskey 7 DAM: Angus 4137 A.I.: 5/25/2010 Tryon

These Maine influenced breds are very different than what I’m used to. These cattle are so massive, yet still possess enough of the maternal traits that I preach, it’s scary. There should be something for everybody here Nov. 21st.

Welcome

M

ost of you, if you are like me, did not even notice that I skipped all the boring stuff at the beginning of the catalog. It’s not that I skipped it, I just thought the cattle took precedence. I’m very proud of this group of females and the 2 bulls we are selling Nov. 21st.

As you might have noticed, 11 of the 12 calves selling are offspring out of our top breds from a year ago. I knew these genetics would work and I just wanted to show you, my customers, what these cattle were capable of producing. With that being said, I’m proud to say we flushed 26 virgin heifers this year. That’s right, 26 head and we transfered or froze 242 embryos this summer.

Lot 28 HUSTON 50

SIRE: Black Label DAM: Angus Y551 A.I.: 5/24/2010 Tryon

These females were mated to the following bull battery: Heat Wave, Monopoly, Walks Alone, Walks on Water, Meyer 734, Bates and One & Only! I honestly believe that if you are trying to raise the elite type of composite cattle, like many of you are, this is a sale you simply can not afford to miss.

Check out this chromed up Black Label. She might be the best haired one in the offering. Don’t be afraid to try a good Hereford bull back on this one.

nt@theshowcircuit.comQuint@theshowcircuit.com

Thanks to all my customers, whether from the auctions or privately, without you I have nothing. We look forward to seeing you the 21st! Mike Huston Huston Cattle Company

For those of you who never saw the bull we raised in 2000, that we called Bates, my apologies. However, I tried to re-create him. This red & white beast is a Bates out of an own Cunia daughter whose dam was essentially a full sibling to Bates mother! This Cunia cow is now 14 years old and looks like she is about 6. We sold Bates mother when she was 23 and weighed about 1680 lbs. Trust me folks, these genetics can’t be duplicated. You will not find cattle bred like this or built like this anywhere in the world. We are selling choice of possession and 1/2 semen interest. This might be the biggest thing to hit the club calf industry since Heat Wave! If raising slick shorn cattle is your business, then you better make it a point to see this calf before Nov. 21st! He is so damn stout & cool looking, it is actually kinda funny! TH & PHA carrier. Remember, PANDA’s mother is a Bates!

This is the Meyer 734 bull prospect that many have stopped by to study! I sure don’t think anyone has been disappointed after their visit. Even Jon Webster, who stopped by the day the wind reached 60 mph. I will be the first to admit of my addiction to Meyer 734 genetics. People wanted to know why waste a flush on such a valuable female to Meyer 734. Well, this bull is exactly why I wanted to “waste” a flush to Meyer. This bull is exactly what we ALL have been waiting for. We can breed anything we want to him. He is TH & PHA clean. He is as hairy as they come. And, oh yea, he is out of what I honestly think is the most impressive looking cow I’ve EVER seen. We are selling Spring breeding possession and 1/2 semen interest. The breeding possession is good for 70 days each Spring.
