VOL. XXII, NO. 28
Berger Solar and Electric Powering up a business from the sun and beyond Eastern Sierra, CA”The sun is new each day,” Heraclitus once said, and Berger Solar Electric is once again making the most of that notion. Expanding, exponentially, the one-man business model Scott Berger put into action decades ago is now successfully grown into a brick-and-mortar enterprise based in Bishop, with eight team members, several work vehicles, an expanding customer base (in the Eastern Sierra and Nevada), and numerous innovative solar and electrical projects. A year ago, Matthew Berger, Scott's son, joined the business as the consultation and project development aspect of the company, and this year, Peter Renfro, with an extensive background in the solar industry, is contributing his expertise as the general manager. Brandie Scott is expanding the storefront's presence and increasing the customer base as office manager, and coordinating the many new staff and projects. The newly expanded team, including Renfro, are working with Scott on

“Every 24-hours, enough sunlight touches the Earth to provide energy for the entire planet”-Martha Maeda the solar and electrical jobs, and Berger is training the staff in the many facets of solar and electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs. William Elliott, Steve Foster, T.J. Richardson, and Anthony Landaverde are a part of the business expansion,
which has increased Berger's scope and reach in providing highly efficient products and services. Berger Solar Electric is the only authorized SunPower dealer in the region, and Matthew emphasizes, “with the industry-leading
warranty of 25 years and an expected life of 40 years, adopting solar power is now a guaranteed investment.” The SunPower affiliation provides an umbrella warranty over the entirety of the system, active monitoring capabilities, and record-holding
production efficiency. Innovative applications for solar and electrical installations are the hallmark of Berger Solar Electric, and each day the capabilities of the solar industry to reduce electric bills and dependence upon conventional electricity rise on
the creative spirits and craftsmanship of businesses like Berger's. A two-home, single-array system in Round Valley, mobile home solar installations, and everything from removing old to installing new solar systems in the heavy snow mountain regions are a few of the successful projects Scott and the team accomplished this year. With individualized consulting, home energy need evaluations, and a premium product inventory, Scott explains, the benefits of going solar are becoming well-known with each new solar home. SunPower is a “turn key” solar solution, adds Renfro, including products, delivery, installation standards, best-in-class warranties, live energy monitoring, and financing. Going solar is easy, with many programs available. “All you need is a sunny roof or space in your yard,” Scott adds. And with Berger Solar Electric, the customer always solely owns the long-term savings. “Everyone under the sun needs electricity,” Matthew says, “We want to make energy easy.”
