Beach Insurance Services 2021
Family business, with deep ties to the Eastern Sierra, continues large range of services

By Christina Reed The Hired Pen Eastern Sierra, CA—The pandemic shifted our every day life, and thus our needs, the needs of business owners, employees, retirees, and the insurance industry. The obstacles have been large, and many of the insurers had to be quick to adapt, to insure continuity for policy holders. Beach Insurance Services, in the Eastern Sierra since 1988, is no exception to the effort it takes to overcome the current hurdles presented by the pandemic. Offering a

pened “to keep the business as seamless as possible.” She has been with Beach's office for 15 years, and Vega has been a staff member for seven years. Beach Insurance Services is an independent agency, and they can represent a number of insurance companies or carriers. The independence allows for the business to find the appropriate insurance coverage for individuals, and they aren't limited by any one source or company. Williams says a big challenge to insurance today is how large the industry is, but at the same time, another challenge is many carriers not choosing to provide certain insurance products, or “completely leaving the state.”
Licensed in all 50 states to write insurance, Beach Insurance Services handles insurance products ranging from pet insurance to workers compensation, and renter's, auto, boat, motorcycle, water craft, vacation cabin, fire, theft, storms, commercial and business, and property and liability products. Vega says “marketing is challenging,” and what with “wildfires” and other issues, like the ebbs and flows of insurance, Vega notes, “We're [Beach Insurance Services] taking the challenge in stride.” When asked, “Who needs insurance?” Williams quickly responds. “Who doesn't?” “Everybody needs insurance,” she continues. Independent agents can help you with “your needs, and tell

resilience by maintaining high standards, Beach Insurance Services recently announced two new owners, both of whom were longstanding employees, as the business moves ahead. And, Amber Williams and Ashlynne Vega, will continue the independent insurance agency's direction. Robert Beach, long-time owner of the business, retired, and he knew the two staff members “wanted to own the business, when we were employees,” says Williams. Williams adds, the “purchase of the business from Robert” hap-

Ties Run Deep in the Eastern Sierra Williams and Vega enjoy the small communities of the Eastern Sierra, where their customers are also “friends,” and neighbors, Williams explains. “Being a home town agent” is “not just that [being a home town agent]. But also to consult [customers].” She adds, “We [Beach Insurance Services] have a bigger reach, nationwide.” Vega says the “ties run deep in the Eastern Sierra.” Both owners and their families are residents of the Eastern Sierra, and both are graduates of local schools. the insurance industry interests her in many ways. “It's very broad, very big, and there's no time to get tired of it.” Vega seconds that notion by saying, “It's being challenged. Constantly. And I learn sometime new.”

While securing Orosi is a big step forward, we are still hopeful to add additional games on April 16th and 23rd. We will keep you posted as the schedule develops. Huge thanks to Athletic Director Stacy Van Nest, Principal Dave Kalk and Superintendent Katie Kolker for securing this opportunity for our team.
Save the Bishop Twin Theatre The Bishop Twin Theatre has been providing entertainment and joy to the Bishop Community for 97 years. Due to COVID 19, the theatre has been required to remain closed for an entire year. Its owners have been creative in their efforts to keep from permanently closing, but no small business can survive being closed for a year and counting. We are asking that Bishop residents come together and give whatever they can to support this small business and ensure that when COVID 19 restrictions lift, we will be able to continue enjoying our beloved Twin Theatre! All funds raised will go to the Bishop Twin Theatre. Go to: https://www.gofundme.com/f/savethe-bishop-twin-theatre

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month Abril es el mes nacional de la Prevención del Abuso Infantil CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION
PREVENCIÓN DEL ABUSO INFANTIL
April was first declared Child Abuse Prevention Month by presidential proclamation in 1983. Since, then April has been a time to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse, and to promote the social and emotional well-being of children and families.
During the month of April and throughout the year communities are encouraged to share child abuse and neglect prevention awareness strategies and activities to promote prevention across the county.
Durante el mes de Abril y todo el año comunidades son alentadas a compartir estrategias y actividades para prevenir el abuso y negligencia infantil a través del condado.
Blue Pinwheels are the national symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention. Shining in the sun, the pinwheel is reflective of the bright future ALL children deserve! Keep an eye out for Blue Pinwheel Displays in Mono County.
