Grocery Outlet Bargain Markets open its doors – twice Bishop and Mammoth Lakes cut the ribbon on two new grocery stores By Christina Reed, The Hired Pen Eastern Sierra, CA—The Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, “Grocery Outlet,” opened two new stores in the Eastern Sierra, on January 24, 2019. Independently owned and operated by Dennis and Sarah Freundt, Bishop's grand opening was celebrated by the couple, the staff, and about 200-plus customers, who lined up early to be in line for specials at the opening. The Freundts cut the Bishop Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center's ribbon, with numerous county and City of Bishop officials in attendance, and then the doors were opened for business; which is located near the Ford dealership, and downtown Bishop. In the Town of Mammoth Lakes, Bobby and Ronica McGhee, independent owners / operators, opened the doors to the Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, on January 24, too. This store is located on Old Mammoth Road, next to the Shell gas station. The local Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post #8988 received a check from a percentage of the customer savings for the first couple of hours of operation in Bishop. Bob Patterson, VFW Post #8988's Quartermaster, said the funds would be used for many of the VFW's projects. The Grocery Outlet Bargain Markets were founded, in 1946, by Jim Read, who was a San Francisco, CA business man. Read sold surplus military items, mainly canned goods, under the name “Cannery Sales,” initially, then in 1987, the stores became the Grocery Outlet. The Use of Mind

Scientific Prayer For as long as there has been a belief in a higher power; be it a god, saint or monarch, mankind has sought some kind of divine intervention in their affairs. We have called it prayer, and despite the teachings about prayer by people like Jesus, it usually consist of begging, playing let’s make a deal or trying to convince God why you are worthy, so that your petition may be granted. In the Book of Mark, Chapter 13, verses 22-27 Jesus said, “Have faith in God. Truly I say unto you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe you have already recieved it, and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against any one; so that your Father also who is in heaven may for give your trespasses.” Clearly, there is no pleading, requiring of sacrifices or bargaining involved in the prayers Jesus is talking about. Ernest Holmes said, “The answer to the prayer is in the prayer itself.” When you pray for healing; what image of the one who needs healing do you have in mind? You want them well, but do you see them well? If you are praying the way Jesus talked about, your prayer would consist of an image of that individual perfect, whole and complete. The image you hold in mind is your prayer Paul said that we should pray without ceasing, and we surely are. Our thoughts and words constitute a ceaseless prayer. Our mind is ever active, and as such, we must do our work in mind. In Religious Science we say there is only One Mind and that is the Mind of God, and we are all using it. How you use that mind will determine the quality and outcomes of your life. We are thinking individuals and we never stop thinking, and since our thought sets up our experience, it would be advisable to think aright if you desired a particular outcome. God’s thought created the Universe and everything in it. Your thought creates your universe and everything in it. Holmes says, “Thoughts are more than things, they are the cause of things. Things have no independent existence since there can be nothing external to some comprehending mind.” The prayer work in Religious Science is called treatment. A treatment consists of a series of statements including: identification, unification, realization, thanksgiving and release. This would be the classic treatment, however; if you can picture the sick as well, and the poor as prosperous, and the unhappy as happy; you are treating Remember Jesus said to not have a doubt in your heart. Sometimes that takes a little practice, but it is a great way to live. God is Love and Loving You Right Now!

Repelling race favorite and Breeders' Cup classic winner Accelerate at the top of the stretch, the Mike McCarthy trainee rolled to an easy 5 3/4 length win in the mile and an eighth race over a sloppy track.This marked the final race of a fantastic career and what a show it was. Winning North America's richest race moved City of Light's total earnings to $5,662,600 and was his sixth win in eleven career starts.
