Eastern Sierra, CA—A Realtor®, a real estate agent, and a real estate broker are all professionals who are licensed to help people buy, sell, rent, or property manage real estate or investments. A Realtor® is a trademark for someone who is a licensed real estate agent or broker, and who is a member of the National Association of Realtors® (NAR). Realtor® is a registered trademark term (since 1950), and is always capitalized. And, NAR members must comply with NAR’s strict Code of Ethics.

Fire and Emergency Preparedness 2021 Bishop Fire Department

The Bishop Fire Department is a cooperation between the Bishop Rural Fire Protection District and the City of Bishop that provides fire protection and other emergency services in the Bishop area. The Bishop Fire Department also serves the Bishop Paiute Reservation under contract with the Tribe. As a result, the Department’s service area includes Bishop, West Bishop, North Bishop, the Bishop Paiute Reservation, Rocking K, Laws, and Wilkerson. The Bishop Fire Department is a volunteer fire department with 39 volunteers that provides superb service at a low cost. The only full time paid employee is the Fire Chief. The Assistant chief is a part time paid position. As a cooperation between the Bishop Rural Fire Protection District and the City of Bishop, the Department works under both the District Board and the City Council. The Bishop Fire Department urges you to be fire safe and prevent fires before they start. When a fire does start in the Bishop area, rest assured the Bishop Volunteers will be on their way to save lives and property!

From the search and rescue teams to the local paramedics, to the fire fighters and law enforcement officers, its not an easy task covering the thousands of square miles of these counties. And, we’re an active area for adventure, and smart service goes along way to saving lives. Our local fire and safety service members provide emergency and community benefits, and they live with us in our towns, cities, and neighborhoods...it doesn’t get any better than that.

Bishop Fire Department to host 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb community invited to participate in event honoring fallen 9/11 firefighters Of the 2, 977 people who died on Sept. 11, 2001, 343 were firefighters. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that forever changed the New York skyline and American hearts, and the Bishop Fire Department is inviting the community to join with their volunteer firefighters in remembering the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice that day. “The vivid images of towers collapsing continue to follow me 20 years later,” said Bishop fire chief Joe Dell. “The Bishop Fire Department has been climbing to pay tribute for the past three years and this year we would like to open our event to the community. We will not forget”. The event will begin with onsite registration at 7 a. m. Saturday, Sept. 11, on the bleachers in the Mike boothe Memorial Arena at the Tri-County fairgrounds. A ceremony will take place at 8 a.m. with the climb to follow at 8:30 a.m. The firefighters hope to have 343 people participate in the climb. Each participant will be given the name of a fallen FDNY firefighter to carry with them as they ascend and descend the equivalent of 110 flights of stairs. Water will be provided. Proceeds from the event go to the Fallen Firefighter Foundation, which provides support and services for the families of fallen firefighters nation-wide. Registration is $30 per person and includes a commemorative event T-shirt, which participants will be able to pick up at the fire department in October. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Eastern Sierra Community Service District (“District”) invites and will receive sealed Bids up to but not later than 2 p.m. on September 30, 2021 at the administration office of the Eastern Sierra Community Service District, located at 301 W. Line Street, Suite D, Bishop, CA 93514, for the furnishing to District of all labor, equipment, materials, tools, services, transportation, permits, utilities, and all other items necessary for Emergency Generator Project. At said time, Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at administration office of the Eastern Sierra Community Service District. Bids received after said time shall be returned unopened. Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 calendar days after the Bid opening date. The major work consists of furnishing a mobile emergency diesel generator and installing a manual transfer switch and a docking station with breaker at the existing Wastewater Treatment Plant and furnishing a portable emergency generator for the Valley View Sewer Lift Station and installing a manual transfer switch and an outdoor receptacle. Bids must be submitted on the District’s Bid Forms. Bidders must be on the Official Bidder’s list by obtaining a copy of the Contract Documents from the office of AM Consulting Engineers, located at 5150 N. The Colonel touched the lives of many here in the Eastern Sierra. The ceremony will start at 2pm on September 12 at the Tri County Fairgrounds in Bishop. There will be an Honor Guard from Nellis Air Force Base providing full honors of respect for the Colonel. T-38 air craft from Edwards AFB will provide the fly-over honors deserving of the Colonel.
