“”Tis the season to be thankful.
Editor’s Note There is no doubt that 2023 has been a year for the record books. By that, I mean being present for some the most unprecedented moments to date. Hip hop turn 50, female CEO’s of color were removed or resigned and movements came from any issue that social medio clicked on the most. Likewise, it has been a pruning time for many. Post-pandemic, we are still learning what we will no longer tolerate. We are moving into career transitions and diversified portfolios. One of our faves is seeing that we have protections in place to wear our hair like we please.

We were outside this year and enjoyed every moment. Every event has been filled with sisters relocating for work, heading to school, retiring or a local looking to meet new people. The diversity of our market is indeed a plus. We have discussed hard topics such as finance and estate planning and celebrated with our annual All White and Black and Gold affairs. We have watched business after business start and thrive. The pictures you see are front actual The Stiletto Talks events...the smiles say it all.
Networking is Queen No matter if you are looking to meet individuals professionally or personally, the best way to do that is through networking. Yes, that means business cards printed or QR codes. Yes, that means being organized with tasks so you can head out. Yes, that means having your digital space or background on point to network online. Networking helps you to know who you need to know. It helps individuals form strong alliances because now they know of you. Lots of trends are coming and going but networking is here to stay.
Calendar Planning Time Now is the time to grab your favorite planner, download your preferred calendar app or both, and get ready for 2024!! Events are EVERYWHERE!! If you prefer to selectively meet folks, try setting a goal such as 2-4 events per month. For many, that adds up to 8 hours a month plus travel time there and back. Now that the math is done, ask yourself ...what are my goals when at events? For some, it’s conversation, others , opportunity to add value to their brand. Networking looks different to everyone, so write it down and make it plain.

STRATEGY Strategies and Tips for Success in becoming an Entrepreneur You must have a strong spirit if you want to be a successful person. The spirit factor is very influential in a person's success in starting a business, the greater the enthusiasm you have, the more opportunities for success will be opened. Even when you experience failure, you will have difficulty rising from that failure. On the other hand, if you have a strong spirit, no matter what the failure, you will get up and move on.
5 Tips to be a successful Entrepreneur : 1. Manage time 2. Focus on objectives 3. Self respect 4. Don't give up easily 5. Self-confidence
Lasandra Collins LLC How did you get started ? While engrossed in a movie depicting a woman's struggle with identity and pretense, I was struck by a powerful realization: the need to host a conference dedicated to women, delivering the message that it's perfectly okay to be yourself. However, fate had different plans for me, leading me to write and publish my book, "Uniquely You: Pulling Off the Mask," back in 2020. In the wake of its release, I was deeply moved as numerous women reached out to me, sharing how they resonated with my story and had experienced similar life challenges. This outpouring of support and connection fueled my decision to embark on a new path establishing my transformational coaching business. My mission is clear: I aim to assist women who, like my former self, find themselves wrestling with societal pressures to fit in, questioning whether their true selves are truly worthy. I am dedicated to helping women perceive themselves through the lens of Christ, fostering a sense of acceptance and empowerment. Together, we can embrace our uniqueness and live authentically, knowing that who we were created to be is not only good enough but truly remarkable.

Lasandra Collins LLC How do you feel your organization of business impacts the community? I strongly believe that when women embrace their unique selves and heed the calling of Christ, it has a profound impact on our community. You see, their "yes" is intricately linked to someone else's destiny. We're all interconnected, and when individuals discover and walk in their purpose, it inevitably brings them closer to those they are meant to assist. It's a beautiful cycle of empowerment and support - as women find their true calling and live authentically, they become a source of inspiration and guidance for others. By encouraging this authenticity, we create a ripple effect of positive change in our community, ultimately helping each other fulfill our God-given purposes and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we are destined to touch.
What's your "why"? I'm on this path because I believe it's my divine calling. My life's purpose revolves around guiding other women to fully embrace their Christ-Identity, empowering them to stride forward with unwavering confidence in their true selves. Through this journey, they not only discover their authentic selves but also gain a profound understanding of their purpose on this Earth and how they can serve in meaningful ways.
"I’m on this path because it is my divine calling."
Lasandra Collins LLC What’s your why continued.... It truly pains me to witness women caught in a repetitive cycle of making poor decisions, which often lead to unfavorable outcomes due to their mindset. My deepest desire is to witness these remarkable women triumph in every aspect of life, both in the physical world and their spiritual journey. Seeing them flourish and succeed brings immeasurable joy to my heart.

THE STILETTO TALKS BUSINESS
www.thestilettotalks.com How did you get started? I was always intrigued with being the planner for friends, family, and co-workers baby showers and birthdays. I loved it! I figured I could do it as a business and be really great at it, so I prayed about it for a while, and then, I finally took that leap of faith and started the business.
How do you feel your organization of business impacts the community? SIS is actually an acronym that stands for SISTERS INSPIRING SOCIETY. At SIS, we wanted to ensure no matter what the event, a portion of our proceeds would be donated back into the community. With our AMAZING clients, we have paid for housing for those who were in emergency situations, we have provided book scholarships, paid for groceries, provided transportation services, and partnered with other local organizations to provide backpacks and other supplies to those in need. What we do at SIS may be small in number, but it is EVERYTHING to those we are able to help.
What's your "why"? I am able to see the relief on my client's faces because they trust our team has their back. The smiles and memories they are able to create with their loved ones because we were able to take care of their needs. The relaxation and enjoyment I sense from their energy because the decorations are in place, their special occasion is on schedule, and mishaps are taken care of without interruption of the moment. The appreciation and tears of joy our team has been able to give over the last 4 years has been priceless. The reinvestment of my team in their professional development, and their trust in what we are able to deliver is what motivates me to continue to be a servant leader to my team, my clients, and my community.

My journey into the world of finance and entrepreneurship was anything but conventional. Diagnosed with dyscalculia in college, I was advised to steer clear of math-intensive fields. But I've never been one to back down from a challenge. Instead, I chose to pursue a degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance, defying the limitations that society tried to impose on me. After graduation, I entered the corporate world, managing multi-million dollar budgets and leading transformative projects in finance departments. However, I quickly realized that the corporate ladder had a glass ceiling, especially for a woman of color like myself. Despite delivering exceptional value, I found myself consistently undercompensated and underrepresented. That's when I knew I had to pivot. I took the invaluable lessons, strategies, and insights I had gained in the corporate sector and channeled them into a venture of my own: Malloy Management Group. I was determined to use my expertise to empower other women, particularly women of color, to navigate the complexities of the financial world, from IRS tax codes to wealth management. Starting my own business was a leap of faith, but it was a calculated one. I knew the challenges that lay ahead, but I also knew the transformative power of financial literacy and the impact it could have on marginalized communities. With a clear vision and an unshakeable resolve, I set out to build not just a business, but a legacy. Today, Malloy Management Group stands as a beacon of financial empowerment and education, helping visionary women of color CEOs and entrepreneurs scale their businesses to 7+ figures and beyond. We are not just making a difference; we are making history.

Malloy Management Group, LLC What’s you why continued.... Despite the odds, I excelled, managing multi-million dollar budgets for leading corporations and becoming a subject matter expert in accounting, insurance, taxation, and wealth management. Yet, even as I climbed the corporate ladder, I noticed a glaring gap: the absence of women of color in decision-making roles, particularly in finance departments. I was often the only woman of color in the room, expected to drive transformation and increase profits, but not adequately compensated for the value I brought. That's when I realized my true calling was beyond the glass ceilings of corporate boardrooms. I founded Malloy Management Group to bridge this gap, to bring the strategies and insights from the corporate world to visionary women of color CEOs and entrepreneurs. My mission is to empower you to navigate the complex landscape of IRS tax codes, build unapologetic wealth, and leave an unshakable financial legacy. I combine the acumen of a corporate C-Suite executive with the fiery passion of an entrepreneur. I am committed to empowering marginalized groups—women of color, minorities, and the LGBTQ+ community—to not just make money but to master it. So, why did I start this business? Because I believe in the transformative power of financial literacy and the right for everyone, regardless of their background, to build a legacy that lasts. I am here to ensure your business doesn't just survive; it thrives.

SEASON 23/24
CHIZOBA NZEAKOR The Zoba Advisory, Nigeria, Africa
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED? At the United Nations Framework for Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP26), Nigeria's most recent former President, Muhammadu Buhari, made a significant announcement. He declared a net-zero emissions target for the year 2060. Shortly after the conference, President Buhari took action by signing the Climate Change Act, 2021 (the Act) into law. This Act, which had been passed by the National Assembly in October 2021, establishes a comprehensive framework for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and integrating climate change initiatives into national plans and programs. However, despite these promising developments, no concrete steps had been taken to implement the Act by 2022. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, we established the Zoba Advisory Youth Group, who went ahead to participate in the Nigerian Policy hackathon organized by The Debate Nigeria in Coordination with Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, to address this issue. Through this hackathon, we established the Zoba Advisory, a youth organization dedicated to driving climate action. The Zoba Advisory formulated a policy titled "Beyond Fossil Fuel: Achieving Economic Impact," which aimed to compel the Legislative to fulfill their proposed climate change policies and commitments.

SEASON 23/24
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED CONTINUED In February 2023, the Nigerian Government took a significant stride forward by announcing the implementation of a carbon pricing system and an international credit plan. Under this system, polluters would be required to pay the state a fee per tonne of emissions. Additionally, the government committed to developing a strategy for generating credits through climate change projects, both domestically and internationally. These policy recommendations were among the proposals put forth by the Zoba Advisory during the policy hackathon, where they emerged as winners in the Climate category in 2022. Since then, the Zoba Advisory has remained actively engaged in policy recommendations, consultations, advocacy, research, education, and community development projects. Their unwavering commitment to addressing climate change demonstrates their dedication to creating a sustainable future for Nigeria and the world.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip. Let us meditate as we head into the marathon of holiday gatherings. We want to manifest the best experiences in the best environment that aligns with us. We want to smile, network and be cheerful. We cast out any negativity... but wait, negativity ??? Yes, there are instances when your foe may be at an event, your cousin that you cannot stand will be at the dinner table and the boss you don’t like will attempt to shake your hand or use you for a photo opt.
Crown Saver
Crown saving means just that. We all experience time where we could set the crown aside and give someone the business. the issue is everyone does not deserve our response. You do not have respond or social media or at all. We must learn to practice pausing prior to responding.
Before you head out to engagements, center yourself. Remember who you are and what your limits are. Avoid prolonged times in negative spaces. If there is a possibility of you being triggered , respectfully decline. If you have a therapist, it may be good idea of discussing strategies before attending any events. Let’s practice, prepare and when we return home, be in praise for protecting our boundaries.
The Stiletto Talks Travel It’s cooling down, finally! As the holidays and new year approach, many are taking time to rest. While there is a short window to recover, let’s get into some wintry ideas. It’s not the beach but having an open mind to experience something different may be just what is needed.
Cabin Fever There’s nothing like a comfy cabin with those we love. Whether looking for a mental retreat, a snuggle spot, or a place to get those 2024 plans together, cabins are a great way to get away from the hype of life and have many modern amenities. Many travel sites offer cabins for every budget and often, they are cost effective and near breathtaking sites.
Ski Sister, Ski!!!
Did you know that we ski?? Even those who love warmer temperatures often take to the skis instead of the skies. There are many local and national ski organizations. The National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS) is a nonprofit that hosts multiple ski events throughout the year. Their biggest is the Summit, which will be held February 24-March 2,2024. Go to www.nbs.org for more information.
