Lano has the European rights to manufacture top quality carpets with the SmartStrand fibre – the impressive plant-derived renewable fibre that has transformed carpet buying in the United States.

Billed as “the world’s most forgiving carpet”, Live life worry free with a SmartStrand carpet, the first bio-based carpet using a rapidly renewable resource, The amount of energy required to produce the SmartStrand fibre is a full 30% less than with other fibres. The whole production process consequently emits 63% less CO2 than is the case with other synthetic fibres, is the first new fibre introduced in over 50 years and is the only carpet that boasts durability and permanent, built-in stain resistance.

Celeste has been Lano’s best-seller with SmartStrand for several years but now retailers will have an opportunity to upsell discerning consumers to Sofia – a new denser, tighter finish at 2,200gr m2 compared to 1,800gr m2 with Celeste. It will be available this summer in 25 colours, a premium KT backing and in both 4 and 5 metre widths.
