Campaign for Wool Keep warm with wool

The Campaign for Wool comes together with the Wool Carpet Focus Group for the 2023 edition of The Flooring Show in Harrogate, which this year highlights how to 'Keep Warm With Wool’. This year’s show will be looking at all aspects of sustainability, and the role this plays for the flooring industry.

With utility bills expected to rise again this winter and governments advocating for energy-saving measures, wool is one of the most sustainable, natural, healthy and simplest ways to help insulate homes and keep them warmer for longer.

Working together with carpet and flooring trend expert Joanna Ramsden of JR studio, Campaign for Wool has identified several new trends for the emerging season; these will be brought to life by way of a special presentation available for show visitors to see at the Wool Trends Centre in Hall C.

Brands invited to participate: Abingdon, Alternative Flooring, Axminister Carpets, Brintons, Brockway, Causeway Carpets, Cavalier Carpets, Cormar Carpet Co., Crucial Trading, Hugh Mackay, Jorgus, Kingsmead, Lano, Lusotufo, Manx Tomkinson, Penthouse Carpets, The Real Shetland Company, Ulster Carpets, Victoria, and Westex

Unilin Flooring Unlock outstanding innovative design

Visit the house of Unilin Flooring UK & Ireland to discover its leading flooring brands. For the first time ever, Unilin Flooring UK & Ireland will be at The Flooring Show, as the company brings together its leading residential flooring brands, Quick-Step, Moduleo and LeoLine.

In Hall C Stand 29, you’ll be able to find the latest product innovations from three of the country’s most recognisable brands. The new Alpha Vinyl collection from Quick-Step, the Moduleo Roots collection including a new herringbone plank, Moduleo LayRed engineered vinyl flooring, and LeoLine’s brand new collection will all be on show.

David Bigland, sales and marketing director, Unilin Flooring UK & Ireland, talks through the reasons for taking the company to The Flooring Show: “Unilin Flooring brings together two hugely successful companies in Unilin, manufacturer of Quick-Step, and IVC Group, the company behind Moduleo and LeoLine. As a single entity, Unilin Flooring now commands a position as one of the country’s largest flooring companies.

Quick-Step

Alpha Vinyl is Quick-Step’s premium luxury vinyl tile collection with integrated underlay that makes the floor even easier to install, more comfortable and much quieter. The feature packed LVT’s underlay is precision made to fit seamlessly, so that there’s no concerns about gaps underneath and uses high-quality materials that ensure the ultimate in durability and stability.

The new Alpha Vinyl Bloom collection features an innovative surface structure that redefines authentic vinyl flooring. Whereas most vinyl floors have three or four depths of texture, Alpha Vinyl Bloom now features up to 75 depths. This means a floor that tracks the depth of every detail and a design that’s more realistic than any other vinyl on the market.

“Each brand designs and makes floors in Belgium, so it made sense to align together and share distribution and warehousing capacity so that we could service our retail customers better. However, Quick-Step, Moduleo and LeoLine still remain as individual brands with unique products aimed at different parts of the market. We’ll bring this collective strength and unique individuality to The Flooring Show at the House of Unilin Flooring.”

Hall C Stand 29 • www.unilin.com/en/flooring

Alpha Vinyl also includes Ciro herringbone flooring. The collection features the innovative Unizip click profile which needs just one plank type, allowing for a much simpler and faster installation. This revolutionary system also minimises installation waste, as it’s much easier to know how many planks are required.

Moduleo

Designed and made in Belgium with the future in mind, the reimagined Moduleo Roots collection embraces the newest interior trends for a luxury vinyl floor that’s appealing, aspirational and in tune with nature. The Flooring Show will be a chance to see how Roots can transform your LVT offer. Alongside, there will be an exclusive preview of the new Roots herringbone format, which brings a more versatile plank size suitable for a wider range of rooms.

LeoLine

A market-leading residential flooring brand for 25 years, LeoLine recently unveiled a smart new look as it sets out to make cushion vinyl cool again. With a manifesto to create the next generation of flooring, LeoLine is on a mission to engage with a new wave of flooring buyers through floors that bring the choice, colour and vibrancy for any space. Across nine cushion vinyl flooring collections, homeowners can now discover a LeoLine floor that’s as unique as they are. So, whether they are hunting out herringbone or tracking down tiles, the LeoLine collection holds the perfect look.

Moduleo’s award-winning LayRed engineered vinyl collection will also be making an appearance. The multi-layered floor with integrated underlay offers exceptional pattern variety and realistic natural design along with easy installation, excellent acoustics and impressive strength.

The Flooring Show will be the first chance to see LeoLine’s new display that continues the brand’s journey to position cushion vinyl as a desirable option. With clever lighting, floating samples and a smart back finish it puts LeoLine firmly in the realm of desirable flooring choices.

You can find the house of Unilin at The Flooring Show.

Kenburn Carpet Crusher Eco warriors

The Kenburn Carpet Crusher is back again highlighting the financial and environmental benefits for recycling new and uplifted carpet and underlay waste.

Having exhibited at every Flooring Show since 2014, it’s an ideal opportunity for Kenburn to not only promote its landfill diversion initiatives, but also to meet up with existing customers and receive their positive feedback on the cost savings they’ve made and the improvement to their sales conversion rates as the public appreciate the fact that their waste is being recycled.

To establish the financial viability and to explain in more detail how the waste is collected and recycled, Kenburn's team of experts visit the sites of retailers and contractors throughout the UK to conduct a brief no-obligation waste survey.

It’s inevitable, with the current economic climate, that flooring sales will be affected, which is why, especially this year, the focus of Kenburn customers has been to cut costs.

If reducing your ever-increasing skip costs is something you’ve considered, please visit visit the Kenburn stand or call for more information.

Carpet Recycling UK Know your waste

‘Come prepared with knowledge of your current waste and recycling contracts if you want help in finding sustainable solutions to your carpet and textile flooring waste streams’ is the message from Carpet Recycling UK (CRUK) for show visitors.

“Understanding the impact of carpet and textile flooring waste on your business operations helps us to progress conversations that can assist you in finding more sustainable outlets for surplus waste materials such as commercial broadloom carpet, carpet tiles and underlay,” says Adnan ZebKhan, CRUK Scheme Manager.

Through its 17 core members, 136-strong membership and wider network, CRUK continues to build on collaborative momentum and act to reduce textile flooring waste and resource usage ahead of any potential changes to UK waste policy and legislation such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). The independent, not-for-profit trade association is urging manufacturers, contractors, retail flooring companies and recyclers to engage with its network to collaborate in putting sustainable processes in place that minimise waste, save on costs and keep resources in the supply chain longer. The aim is to consider reuse and recycling at the design stages and produce products for the circular economy and to implement processes to retrieve them for recycling.
