November 2015 Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program – (deadline is June 10, 2016) The scholarship recipient will be awarded up to $1,000. Students are required to submit an essay. Career In Teaching Scholarship – (deadline March 31, 2016) Eligibility includes a GPA of a 3.0, must graduate from a York County High School, must be a Pennsylvania resident for one year prior to applying and must be accepted to a Pennsylvania college in a certified teacher preparation curriculum. Selected candidates may be required to attend an interview. More information including an application is available in the guidance office. Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship – (deadline is November 18, 2015) This is a scholarship awarded to a nominated student. If you are interested in being nominated, please complete a nomination form located in the guidance office. Must be a full-time high school senior planning to attend a College, University, Vocational or Technical School in the U.S., must have a 2.8 GPA or higher, demonstrate leadership abilities and have a commitment to community service. Dudley & Sylvia Kramer Memorial Scholarship – (deadline is June 6, 2016) This is a $750 scholarship available to students who are a resident of York County, Pennsylvania and are currently working with or have a goal of working with persons with intellectual disabilities. Epilepsy Foundation Western/Central Pennsylvania Scholarship – (deadline March 15, 2016) Applicants must have a diagnosis of epilepsy/seizure disorder, which must be confirmed by a statement from the applicant’s physician. Must provide proof of acceptance to a post-secondary academic or vocational program, be a high school graduate of the class of 2016, attend school full-time in the 2016-2017 school year and be a legal resident of Western/Central Pennsylvania. Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising – (deadline is April 30, 2016) This scholarship is for students who demonstrate an exceptional talent and interest in Fashion Design, Visual Communications, Interior Design, Digital Media, Fashion Merchandising, Graphic Design or Product Development. Seven first place winners will each be awarded a full, one year scholarship to attend FIDM, which includes tuition, fees, books and most supplies. GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship – (deadline is January 7, 2016) In honor of the legacy and character of President Ronald Reagan, this program annually rewards up to 20 college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with $10,000 renewable scholarships (up to $40,000 per recipient). Her Traditions Scholarship Program – York Traditions Bank – (deadline is February 29, 2016) Up to four (4) scholarships of $500 will be awarded to York County women who have demonstrated exceptional leadership potential, to be used toward college expenses at an accredited college or university. Eligible participants must be a female resident of York County seniors who are graduating in 2016, served as a class officer or held another leadership position in an organized, school-sponsored activity, have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher maintained through the end of the junior year in high school. Applicants must also have accumulated a minimum of 20 hours of community service within the past calendar year (12 month). Miss York County Pageant Program – (deadline is December 18, 2015) This scholarship is for two age groups. The Outstanding Teen program is for ages 13 to 17 and the Miss program is for ages 18 to 24. National CO-OP Scholarship (WACE) – (deadline February 15, 2016) This scholarship applies only to select institutions. Interested applicants must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and must apply for the 2016-2017 academic year at one of the WACE Partner Institutions listed. Davis Scholarship – (deadline is May 23, 2016) This is a $1,000 scholarship available to high school juniors and seniors, as well as all students currently registered in any post-secondary institution. The Central PA Chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) – (deadline November 10, 2015) Any female student who is a U.S. citizen that is currently attending high school, trade school, junior college, undergraduate school or graduate school in PA and who is considering a career related to transportation may apply. The Garden Club of York Pennsylvania – (deadline is January 15, 2016) A $1,000 scholarship is available for students who have interest in the following college course subjects: Biology (excluding Medical), Horticulture, Floriculture, Landscape Architecture, Conservation, Forestry, Botany, Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Environmental Control, City Planning, Land Management, and/or allied subjects, Wildlife Sciences, Environmental Control (rural/urban) Planning. Applicants must be a resident of York County Pennsylvania. More information including an application is available in the guidance office. The SportQuest Play With Purpose Scholarship – (deadline is February 1, 2016) This a $2,000 scholarship for sophomore, junior or senior CHRISTIAN STUDENT ATHLETES who maintain a minimum “C” grade average or higher, currently a varsity level athlete in one or more sports and a committed follower of Jesus Christ. York USA Soccer League Scholarship (Beth Hufnagel Scholarship) – (deadline is March 15, 2016) This is a one time scholarship of $1,000 awarded to one male and one female high school senior. An additional $800 scholarship will be awarded to two second place winners, one male and one female high school senior. Eligibility includes high school seniors who participated in York USA for a minimum of 3 years or 6 seasons (fall or spring). Application is in the guidance office along with additional information.


Young Entrepreneur Awards – (deadline is December 18, 2015) This scholarship was created to recognize young people who have demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and initiative. The scholarships are valued between $2,000 and $15,000. Eligible participants are any graduating high school senior who owns and operates his/her own small business. Additionally, the student must enter their freshman year at an accredited two or four year university, college or vocational/technical institute during the Fall 2016. Boston University Merit-Based Scholarship Trustee Scholarship and Presidential Scholarship are both for high-achieving students. The Trustee Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship that recognizes extraordinary academic performance and leadership ability. Interested students must submit an additional essay with their application for admission. Nomination are not required. The Presidential Scholarship is a $20,000 renewable tuition scholarship awarded to students with exceptional academic achievements. No additional essays or nominations are required. Gettysburg College ‘STEM’ Scholarship This scholarship program is for students looking to pursue careers in STEM field (Biology, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics). Ithaca College Martin Luther King Scholar Program The MLK Scholar Program is open to academically talented U.S. citizens and permanent residents from ethnic and racial backgrounds that have been historically underrepresented in U.S. higher education. Scholars receive a minimum award of $25,000 and in some cases up to full tuition annually in both merit and need- based aid. Mount Aloysius College Mercy Presidential Scholarship This scholarship is designed to enhance and bring student leadership to the college. Candidates must demonstrate a solid academic record, commitment to home, school and community. Must have leadership abilities, participate in extra-curricular activities, volunteer and be involved in community service projects. Oral Roberts University Quest Whole Person Scholarship Nominate a high school senior student for up to $20,000 per year for college. University of Dayton This scholarship will be awarded to nominated students who have an innate desire for personal development and is committed to service within his or her school, church or community. This scholarship is worth $10,000 ($2,500 per year for four years) and recipients will also become members of the National Society of Leadership and Success, collaborate with other leaders on campus and participate in a fall leadership conference. University of Pittsburgh Nordenberg Leadership Scholars Program The Nordenberg Leadership Scholars Program is available to current Pennsylvania high school seniors who plan on enrolling as Pittsburgh freshman in the Fall of 2016. Prospective candidates for the program must be admitted to the University of Pittsburg, Pittsburgh campus and demonstrate exceptional leadership and commitment to service. Washington University in St. Louis Williams H. and Elizabeth Gray Danforth Scholarship This scholarship program is for students who have exhibited a capacity for service and leadership, as well as academic excellence and who will embrace the challenges of a rigorous academic curriculum.
