Introduction to Naviance Susquehannock High School is proud to present our latest technological link. Naviance’s Family Connection is a computer-based college and career database available to all Susquehannock High School students. Students can access their personality profile, learning style inventory, and specific details for more than 3,000 colleges. Additional features include resume creation and career information. Naviance’s Family Connection is designed to supplement college related meetings with the guidance counselor. An information letter with access codes will be coming home in the near future. Please activate your accounts so that you can be informed about the latest news in college admissions and career planning.
Southern York County School District Foundation Scholarships Seniors should begin to build their profiles now for Southern York County School District Foundation scholarships. An application for the SYCSD Foundation scholarships is located at http://sycsdf.dollarsforscholars.org Please click the “Students and Parents” tab on the right side of the page. Then click the "Click to Login" button. If this is your first time signing into Dollars for Scholars ChapterNet, click the “Click Here” link in the top center of the page. Otherwise, use your existing account information to sign in. Once you sign in and complete the application, you will be matched to Foundation Scholarships for which you qualify. It is important to answer all information completely and thoroughly. Some scholarships will require parents and references to sign into the system to complete required sections. A quick guide to completing the application can be found here: http:// www.sycsd.org/syc_foundation.cfm?subpage=59565 Note: Please remember these important items when entering your information on the SYCSDF DFS scholarship website. Students should check that the school uses a weighted 4.0 scale in the GPA section. Parents must fill out financial information and give student’s permission to apply for scholarships. Students should also enter Samantha Whittie (Samantha.Whittie@sycsd.org) as the School Counselor in the transcript section. In 2015, 172 scholarship awards were distributed. There is a very good chance that an application will result in an award. In addition, by applying for SYCSDF DFS scholarships, students may be matched to other DFS scholarships nationwide, giving them additional opportunities for scholarship awards. SYCSD Foundation/Dollars for Scholars Scholarships will become active on the website in mid January. At that time, scholarships will be matched to students according to their profiles. Also, please note that the deadline for the SYCSDF DFS submission is February 12, 2016; a date that must remain firm for the processing of scholarship awards. Specific inquiries about these and other scholarships should be directed to Samantha Whittie in the SHS Guidance Office by email at Samantha.Whittie@sycsd.org or by phone at 235-4811, Extension 4243.
