September 2015 Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship – (deadline is December 3, 2015) This is a scholarship awarded to a nominated student. Must be a full-time high school senior planning to attend a College, University, Vocational or Technical School in the U.S., must have a 2.8 GPA or higher, demonstrate leadership abilities and have a commitment to community service. Dudley & Sylvia Kramer Memorial Scholarship – (deadline is June 6, 2016) This is a $750 scholarship available to students who are a resident of York County, Pennsylvania and are currently working with or have a goal of working with persons with intellectual disabilities. Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising – (deadline is April 30, 2016) This scholarship is for students who demonstrate an exceptional talent and interest in Fashion Design, Visual Communications, Interior Design, Digital Media, Fashion Merchandising, Graphic Design or Product Development. Seven first place winners will each be awarded a full, one year scholarship to attend FIDM, which includes tuition, fees, books and most supplies. In addition, the top three finalists in each category will each be awarded a $5,000 scholarship. Interested students, please visit www.fidm.edu/go/fidmscholarships. Horatio Alger Association Scholarship – (deadline is October 25, 2015) This is a $7,000 to $22,000 scholarship for graduates in the spring/summer of 2016 and plan to enter college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation. Students must exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States. Interest students can visit www.scholars.horatioalger.org to apply online. In order for an application to be considered, an online certification form must be completed by the applicant’s counselor. National CO-OP Scholarship (WACE) – (deadline February 15, 2016) This scholarship applies only to select institutions. Interested applicants must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and must apply for the 2016-2017 academic year at one of the WACE Partner Institutions listed. Davis Scholarship – (deadline is May 23, 2016) This is a $1,000 scholarship available to high school juniors and seniors, as well as all students currently registered in any post-secondary institution. The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program – (deadline is November 3, 2015) This is a local, state and national recognition program for grades 5-12. Eligibility include being engaged in a volunteer activity that occurs at least in part after September 1, 2015 and you must be a legal resident of one of the 50 states of the United States or the District of Columbia. Interested students must complete an application and submit it to the school principal. Applicants must submit completed application to one of the following: A middle level or high school, a Girl Scout Council, a County 4-H Organization, an American Red Cross Chapter, A YMCA or an affiliate of HandsOn Network.


The SportQuest Play With Purpose Scholarship – (deadline is February 1, 2016) This a $2,000 scholarship for sophomore, junior or senior CHRISTIAN STUDENT ATHLETES who maintain a minimum “C” grade average or higher, currently a varsity level athlete in one or more sports and a committed follower of Jesus Christ. York USA Soccer League Scholarship (Beth Hufnagel Scholarship) – (deadline is March 15, 2016) This is a one time scholarship of $1,000 awarded to one male and one female high school senior. An additional $800 scholarship will be awarded to two second place winners, one male and one female high school senior. Eligibility includes high school seniors who participated in York USA for a minimum of 3 years or 6 seasons (fall or spring). Application is in the guidance office along with additional information. YoungArts Scholarship – (deadline is October 16, 2015) This is a cash award of up to $10,000 per student for students ages 15-18 (or in grades 10-12) in the following disciplines: cinematic arts, dance, design arts, jazz, music, photography, theater, visual arts, voice, writing and spoken word. Gettysburg College ‘STEM’ Scholarship This scholarship program is for students looking to pursue careers in STEM field (Biology, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics). Mount Aloysius College Mercy Presidential Scholarship This scholarship is designed to enhance and bring student leadership to the college. Candidates must demonstrate a solid academic record, commitment to home, school and community. Must have leadership abilities, participate in extra-curricular activities, volunteer and be involved in community service projects.
