IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PARENT NOTIFICATION SYSTEM The parent notification system will automatically notify parents of important school announcements including student absences and weather related delays and closings via phone and email. Notifications of student absences are only sent via phone calls and do not include work numbers. New for 2015-16, the District has released a mobile device app included in the parent notification system to improve school-to-parent communications. To use the free District mobile app it must be downloaded from the iTunes store for Apple devices and the Android Marketplace for Android devices. The District will transmit the confirmation message below to parents sometime during the first quarter of each school year and then every time a parent changes his or her contact information. Confirmation messages are only sent via phone calls. This is a message from Southern York County School District’s parent notification system. You are receiving this call to confirm that your contact information has been updated. Through this messaging system, the School District will notify you of weather-related cancellations, closings or other important announcements. Please notify your child’s school if you need to change your contact information. You will receive this message whenever your contact information is changed. Thank you. Your current contact information is printed on the enclosed green Emergency Care Information form. Please review it and record the necessary changes. A confirmation message will be sent via the parent notification system once the changes have been processed. The caller ID of the broadcast messages will be that of Southern York County School District (717235-4811). Parents may individually choose not to receive these messages for each of their contacts by writing the letter ‘X’ in the box adjacent to the specific phone number or email on the Emergency Care Information form. Special Notes:  Email addresses cannot exceed forty (40) characters in length. 

Work extensions cannot exceed four (4) digits and must not require a code to be entered prior to the extension.

Calls will not be made to work numbers for staff at the Southern York County School District.

The District will continue to report weather related cancellations and school closings on local radio & TV stations in addition to the District’s website and District mobile app.
