Mountain Madness Trail Run
The Dawson County Chamber of Commerce’s annual “Mountain Madness” trail run gives local runners a chance to push themselves in a challenging 15K run while enjoying some of the beautiful scenery in the county. Registration is $55 per runner, and runners can sign up online.

Bowen Center for the Arts Leather Making
Come out to the Bowen Center for the Arts to learn the art of leather making from local leather worker Tom Slavicek. Participants will learn techniques of cutting leather, using basic tools, and stitching styles and use them to make a leather shoulder bag, belt, passport wallet, journal, phone pouch, drawstring pouch, clutch purse, or tote. All materials and tools are provided, and the class costs $85 per person.

Bear on the Square Mountain Festival
Dahlonega’s Bear on the Square
The Bear on the Square Mountain Festival is an incredible weekend of music and art held each spring in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains. Old-time and bluegrass music will fill the square. A juried artist’s marketplace features traditional mountain art and crafts. Visitors can enjoy extensive music workshops, a Sunday morning Gospel Jam, a street dance, a live auction, children’s activities, a heritage center demonstrating mountain traditions, and food.

Annual Lavender Plant Sale
Live Lavender plants of different varieties will be available at Lavendar Lamb Farm beginning in April and will continue through the end of June while supplies last.
