APART MEANT APART MEANT

by Christian George Tomines

It was late afternoon when my classmates and I decided to visit the apartments near the campus. As we walked, a grandam approached us and offered to help us find a comfortable place to settle "Come, this apartment had previously been occupied by Latin honors graduates," she says as she urges us to go on. The grandam vanished as we entered the apartment, and suddenly it began to rain cats and dogs. We played UNO cards to pass the time while cooped up in the apartment. One of my classmates went to the restroom when suddenly, we were startled to hear her screaming and see her running hysterically in our direction She was terrified because the mirror was painted with blood and had writing that stated, "It won't be easy. It would take blood, sweat, and tears to decamp." I heard some obnoxious vehicular noise, and a man suddenly woke me up, asking for my payment for the fare ticket.
