Business Sessions We pride ourselves on providing the most forward-looking perspectives at The Travel Convention. With that in mind, the theme for this year’s business sessions is: Time Travel.

The business programme continues to be developed around three key pillars: Our World, Our Industry and Your Business. These will help delegates to understand what’s going on in our world, how this will impact the travel industry, and how to prepare their business – and themselves – for what’s coming down the line.

Marc Priestley Marc Priestley spent ten years as a member of the McLaren Formula One pit crew as a race mechanic. In that time he worked with drivers including Kimi Räikkönen, David Coulthard, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. Looking at every aspect of F1, Marc examines the communication, teamwork, pressure and strategy involved in a sport where millions are spent shaving hundredths of seconds off lap times. Marc explains the team’s search for high performance under pressure as millions watch and drivers and sponsors expect perfection. He analyses the crucial nature of each and every member of the team, their individual accountability and their role in achieving the marginal gains required. Marc will provide a fascinating insight into the mindset of an industry that demands high performance in short deadlines and how the right strategy and culture can make the apparently impossible happen.
