Excitement builds as Bahamas Gospel Music Awards set to unveil 2024 nominees

Anticipation is building for the Bahamas Gospel Music Awards 2024 and April 8 will see the unveiling of this year's nominees.

Awards officials had the task of reviewing all

the nominations which have been submitted since January. Now, they are ready to release the names of those who are up for awards in various categories.

The unveiling will be an event in itself and will feature artists such as Bazza, Rashad Cunningham,

It will be hosted by DJ Godson and Ghandi Pinder.

"We are excited to be back for our fourth year of the Bahamas Gospel Music Awards. Our returning hosts DJ Godson and Gandhi have been with us from the very beginning and our guest artists are all ready to perform," said Travis Edgecombe, founder of the BGMA.

"We had over 50 songs submitted this year for the BGMA and we are seeing tremendous growth in the Bahamas gospel music in industry."

In order to be considered for Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Producer of the Year, New Artist of the Year, and Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, gospel artists had to submit a comprehensive digital media kit portfolio.

“For all Song of the Year categories, nominees were required to include an MP3 audio format and lyrics for each song submitted. The official submission link can be accessed through the Bahamas Gospel Music

Awards Facebook page," said Mr Edgecombe.

The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 9, at Bahamas Faith Ministries (BFM). The theme for this year is "We Came to Praise."

Mr Edgecombe said he is looking forward to another exciting season for the BGMA’S.

When he first set out the host the awards show over three years ago, he said he

was “terrified” as he did not how things would turn out. Fortunately, the event has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception.

“The Bahamas Gospel Music Awards 2024 promises to be a memorable occasion that honours and uplifts the incredible talent and dedication within the gospel music industry. Join us as we celebrate the power of gospel music and

Pope appears unable to climb a few steps as respiratory and mobility problems take their toll

VATICAN CITY Associated Press

POPE Francis again asked an aide to read his remarks and was unable to get back onto his popemobile Wednesday, as lingering respiratory and mobility problems

continued to take their toll on the 87-year-old pontiff. Francis presided over his weekly general audience, held outside for the first time this year in a chilly St Peter’s Square. But he had an aide read his catechism lesson, as he has done for the past several days. Last

Wednesday, Francis went to the hospital for unspecified diagnostic tests, the results of which have not been released. He has been suffering on and off this winter from what he and the Vatican have said was a cold, bouts of bronchitis and the flu.

Late last year, Francis underwent a CAT scan that ruled out pneumonia, but the pope was still forced to call off a trip to the Gulf because of a bad bout of acute, infectious bronchitis.

Francis has also been suffering from a fracture in the knee and inflammation of its ligaments that starting in 2022 pushed him to use a wheelchair.
