FORMER Deputy Prime Minister Cynthia “Mother” Pratt is favoured to be the next governor-general of The Bahamas, The Tribune understands.

Prime Minister Philip “Brave” Davis told reporters on Friday that an announcement about the post will be made “in short order”, giving no further details.

Minnis Calls For Debate On Sending 150 Troops To Haiti

FORMER Prime Minis- ter Dr Hubert Minnis said a resolution to send defence force personnel to Haiti to help curb the violence gripping that country should be debated in Parliament before officers are sent abroad.
