passed away on October 25, 2024. Born in 1930 to parents Raymond and Caroline Chestnut (née Sands), Florence grew up in Nassau, Bahamas, where she met her husband H. Michael Carey. They were married in 1950 and shared their lives in Nassau, working hard to build a foundation for their future shared life.

Florence was loved and appreciated by family and friends for her warmth and kind spirit. She was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Methodist Church and a cherished member of the Focus Group. After her children were grown, Florence followed her dream of owning her own business, establishing and running Florinda’s in Palmdale for over twenty years.

Predeceased by her husband and siblings.

Florence is survived by her children Raymond (Mary Jane), Helen (Chris), and Paul (Inna), grandchildren Chad, David, Thomas, Alan, Vera and Mark, seven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
