I'm local but I've never stayed away from home (here come those crazy drunk stories I'll be telling my grandchildren about) so it's like a whole new world for me! Well, it's not much of a world what with the absence of Starbucks, McD's delivery service at 4 a.m., nasi lemak at 2 a.m., thosai at 3 a.m. (God, I'm hungry) - incidentally, why do we have waffles at our cafeteria but not pancakes? I'm not sure what the relevance between the two is but now that it's been brought up, seriously, why no pancakes?! *recovers from sudden lack-of-pancake shock* Right, it's a whole new world, nonetheless. Unfortunately, I sent in my application late so missed out on the on-campus accommodation. And so, the last-minute begging session A.K.A. Mum's-moment-to-shine took place: "Please miss, you have to understand - we come from Ipoh (We're from KL but shhh) and we're staying in this expensive hotel in KL (We've been living in KL for almost 10 years now) and our flight back is in one week (Mum was close to fake tears now)! You have to find my daughter a room on-campus!" (Bravo, Mum). This was followed by an encore and another failed attempt. Anyhow, now I'm in TTS3 and it's actually not that bad! Now if I miss the shuttle bus I get to have two lunches! Because you know‌ all those burnt calories after walking all the way to campus *sad silence* ... No, but really, it's actually quite nice and I'm loving my housemates who (Thank the Heavens, God, the force, Dumbledore, you - just thank you, all!) are amazing and are NOT like those scary, evil room/house mates (People getting locked out of their bathrooms or having food, bras, knickers, drinks getting stolen etc. I've been hearing about). "If I had a glass of water and you were on fire – I would drink the water" applies here. Moving on, the first few weeks of classes have gone by so fast! Like WHOOSH! (Somewhat similar to the sound my head makes when information goes in one ear and out the other). But lectures are fun, seeing as this is finally something that I have chosen to do, I'm actually quite enjoying it (No, this has nothing to do with that hot new lecturer with oh-so dreamy eyes). As for the events that I have been to, nothing has been branded onto my brain but I'm sure I will have the The Music best time of my life here - yes, I can feel it this place Society had their has a good aura, a smell. No, no wait- that's my toast first show of the on fire (there goes cooking for myself as an option).

SA circle was packed and everyone was pumped.

SPOTLIGHT is a sort of mini-showcase slash concert that the Music Society organized as the first of many events they plan to carry out through the year. This little show was held at the SA circle from 7.30pm to 10.30pm and also served to literally put the spotlight on some of the talent our students here at UNMC possess. And what a show they put on.

The performers were all students of UNMC who signed up to perform. One particular stand out performance was by Kareema Ramli, who belted out a Jason Mraz number accompanied by a guitarist. After she finished, she informed the crowd that the guitarist was her boyfriend and then proceeded to sing a song she wrote and composed for him herself. It certainly got the crowd going wild.

It kicked off with a warm-up performance by a band headed by Muhammad Agneza Arifin. The act was followed up with a piano and guitar solo, making the atmosphere both mellow but hyped as everyone was eagerly anticipating the other performances. Despite the less than favourable conditions, there was a huge turnout. The
