We're here to help. At Scranton, you are a person, not a number. That’s why we don’t make our admissions decisions solely based on numbers. We consider many factors including coursework, letters of recommendation, leadership, community service, extracurricular activities and life experiences. We realize that one of the most important factors in your decision is how many credits will transfer to Scranton. Transfer credit is reviewed on an individualized basis for courses in which a C or better has been earned. Students transferring are required to complete a minimum of 63 credits at Scranton to earn a bachelor’s degree. Our transfer process is very simple, so let our professionals help guide you through each step.

FI NANC IAL AID We offer a variety of programs in recognition of academic achievement, financial need, diversity and ROTC service. State and federal assistance, installment payment plans and work-study can also be part of the mix of financing options.
Merit-Based Scholarships
Financial Aid Awards Students who wish to apply for need-based financial aid should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa. gov by April 15 for the following fall semester. Spring term entries need to update their FAFSA to include The University of Scranton (code 003384) on the college section.
Loyola and Arrupe Scholarships are available to qualifying transfer students and range from $12,000 to $19,000 annually. All accepted students are automatically evaluated for scholarships based on the complete Admissions application. Scholarship recipients will be notified in their acceptance letters.

These information-filled events take place in October and November and include campus tours, presentations by Admissions and Financial Aid and meetings with faculty from the 66 undergraduate majors.
This half-hour session with an Admissions counselor is non-evaluative and is perfect for students and parents who may have questions about the University.
Depending on the student’s academic interest, it may be possible to meet one-on-one with a faculty member, based on faculty availability and the student’s visit schedule.
GROUP INFORMATION SESSION
This one-hour tour of campus, led by a student tour guide, will allow you to see the campus center, a first-year residence hall and room, athletic facilities, classrooms, the library and more.
CAMPUS TOUR This 45-minute presentation by an admissions counselor provides an overview of the University and the admissions process, with time for questions.
