Here at the University of Winchester, we take sport and fitness seriously
Training the next generation of sports scientists, therapists, coaches and psychologists through our sports courses, supporting elite studentathletes and developing a passion for teamwork through the Team Winchester sports teams run by Winchester Student Union are all just the start of what we do. The doors of our outstanding facilities are truly open to the whole community.
On campus you can find our gym, sports hall, fitness suite and multi-use games area. Meanwhile, a floodlit 8-lane athletic track and all-weather pitches await at Winchester Sports Stadium at Bar End. Used by students, community sports groups and elite athletes alike, Winchester Sports Stadium is the perfect setting to train and gain. Winchester Sports Stadium is a sports facility of choice for individual athletes, teams and events. In fact, it is England Athletics’ preferred training location in the south for ‘throws’ athletes.
Adjacent to the Winchester Sports Stadium is the Winchester Sport and Leisure Park. We are proud to be a funding partner in this fantastic facility which is home to our Winchester Health Clinic offering physiotherapy treatment for members of the public.
This brochure is designed to be a first step to discovering sports here at Winchester. There’s bound to be more you’d like to know, so please don’t hesitate to use the contact details you’ll find in each section, we would love to hear from you.
