At Ursuline, we celebrate the whole student. That means 21st century learning takes many forms so that all students have educational experiences preparing them to be effective lifelong learners and contributors to society.

A peek into our learning spaces shows students demonstrating their skills: middle school students programming Edison robots in our Innovation Hub; High School Global Scholars presenting their Capstone Project; students of the Model United Nations Club in the High-Tech Media Conference Center preparing to compete in a regional tournament.

Our innovative programs help students to imagine and grow their understanding of themselves, their world, and the future. In our growth mindset culture, Ursuline students come to recognize that their abilities are not fixed; that they can train their brains with practice. Our unique Personal Development Program aims to help our students become more confident, articulate and empowered leaders. Whether learning to navigate friendships or developing resilience, students become prepared for the world beyond the Ursuline campus.

Guided by our Catholic faith, we inspire students to act with compassion and provide opportunities for them to actively participate in daily prayer and school wide liturgies. Each year, students participate in grade level retreats led by Peer Ministers. Ursuline students learn to create change in the world around them through service and social justice projects.

We are dedicated to helping students find their voice, and to follow their path. Faculty and staff encourage Ursuline students to discover their interests and meet other students who share the same passions whether in the arts, athletics, clubs, or service.

In our approach to educating young women, we are guided by our mission. Core values and relationships connect us as a school community – students, parents, alumnae, and Ursuline sister schools around the world.

I hope that you will find Ursuline as full of exciting possibilities and excellence as I do.

COMMUNITY.

FOUNDED IN 1897

The Ursuline School is a Catholic, college preparatory school for young women, grades 6-12. Located just 20 miles north of Manhattan, we belong to a network of secondary schools and colleges of the Ursuline Sisters across the United States and abroad. We offer a rigorous academic curriculum, guided by exceptional faculty who are committed to challenging and supporting our students. As a Catholic high school, we are committed to the faith life of our school community.

Rooted in the foundation of our 125-year history, The Ursuline School celebrates the past while carrying our core values into the future. We thrive at the intersection of old and new, developing curious, intelligent and confident women of tomorrow.

COME DISCOVER THE URSULINE SCHOOL.

Enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion is a core institutional value at The Ursuline School.

We are committed to thinking critically, realizing and challenging our assumptions, and collaborating to forge a greater understanding of the multicultural world. This means enhancing our diversity of thought, perspective and experience, and excellence in education today requires nothing less.

St. Angela, watch over us all our days. St. Ursula, protect our future.

IN THE CLASSROOM

The Ursuline School’s rigorous academic program challenges, engages, and inspires students to reach their greatest academic potential—at Ursuline and beyond. Our 21st century learning and project-based experiences help students develop lifelong critical thinking and analytical skills.

From Computer Applications to Religious Studies and Physics to Fashion Engineering, the breadth and depth of course offerings allow students to take learning to the next level.

In Ursuline classrooms, the possibilities are endless!

• Average Class Size: 16

• Student/Faculty Ratio: 9:1

• Advanced Placement Courses: 17

Ursuline students understand that the world’s issues are our shared issues.

Our Global Education & Serviam program explores different cultural perspectives, inspires innovative critical thinking, and empowers students to be empathetic, active changemakers. Through the program, students participate in an annual Global Symposium to explore climate change, food insecurity, and more with prominent organizational leaders, authors, and humanitarians.

For students passionate about global studies, the renowned Global Scholars Program will help them to become citizens of the world. The program requires a semester elective and Global Scholars Seminar, and culminates with an individual Capstone Research project.
