Cafaro Family Foundation supports local Scoutreach The Cafaro Family Foundation has provided a $5,000 donation to the local Boy Scouts of America’s Scoutreach program for this coming school year. This recent donation reflects the perennial support by the Cafaro Family Foundation for Scoutreach, which brings Scouting to disadvantaged youth in the Warren and Youngstown City Schools at no cost to either the schools or to youth that become Cub Scouts. This past school year, more than 1,000 boys in grades 1-5 participated in this Scouting program, which is not only well received by the children, but also by the teachers and school administrators. This Scouting program reinforces good study habits, attendance and individual recognition. The generosity of the Cafaro Family Foundation will support Scoutreach’s current initiative to expand the program to include sixth-graders, which is a request by school administrators.

The Poland library hosts a series of Baby Brilliant programs throughout the week and on Aug. 4, the children who attended the Tales and Talk for 2s and 3s learned about the letter “M” and mice. Poland librarian Jen Kuczek

There were activities to get the children up and moving pretending they were mice. A paper was passed out with all of the lyrics to the songs and rhymes

for the children and caregivers to follow along to. To get the children on their feet, Kuczek played the song “Hickory Dickory Dock,” and every time those three words were said, Kuczek would blow bubbles for the children to chase around the room and See TODDLERS, Page 6
