Independence. John Hancock,
president of the Continental Congress, was the first to sign. Edward Rutlede, 26, was the youngest. Benjamin Franklin, 70, was the oldest. They all had one thing in common: The believed in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They also understood the dangers of tyranny and a corrupted government. Standing up for liberty put their lives, fortunes and families in great peril – but they did it anyway. That same revolutionary spirit lives on in the U.S. today. There is a grassroots stirring in the hearts of God’s patriots that I have never seen in my life time. The awakening has begun!
Politicians – both Democrats and Republicans – have been violating the U.S.
Constitution for years and ignoring the will of the people. Many regular “Joe-the-Plumbers” feel government is not serving their best interest but plundering them as tax surfs to save the ones who led us into financial crisis to begin with. Despite the fact that the U.S. has the worst debt-to-GDP ratio, our Congress continues to pass fiscally irresponsible bills – without even reading them. To me, that’s criminal.

The Federal Reserve continues devaluating our currency. The July unemployment rate is 9.5 percent. That represents an entire lost decade of gains! For many Americans, Washington D.C. has offered nothing more than hype, vain words, political rhetoric, check-writing bailouts, socialist program funding and bigger government.

As Christians we need to make our voices heard. Many
are calling for prayer.
That’s true, but we must also speak to our leaders and hold them accountable to the Word of God. When God called Moses, He did not tell him to pray for Pharaoh but to speak to him. taken an uncompromising stand on the Word of God. He has put the Lord ahead of everything – including his position as Alabama Supreme Court justice. Moore lost his seat on the bench when he refused to stop acknowledging God.
Now, Moore is looking to resurrect his
public service career with a run for the governorship of Alabama in 2010. Moore would bring integrity, morality, and leadership to Alabama that is much needed in this hour and set an example for other states looking to rebuild trust in uncertain times.

t is surprising how little the medical
community knows about progesterone, especially the consequences of a progesterone deficiency. In many cases, these consequences can be prevented with the use of natural progesterone replacement. It is fairly easy to diagnose women with low progesterone levels because these women are the ones who have PMS, severe menstrual cramps, headaches with their periods, and breast tenderness. They will be estrogen-dominant and very often will wind up with complications such as fibroids in the uterus and fibrocystic disease of the breast.
A recent article in the British medical journal, The Lancelet, indicated that women with fybrocystic disease have a higher incidence of breast cancer. This is not surprising when you consider that fybrocystic disease is found in women with low progesterone levels. Low progesterone levels leads to an over-production of estrogen. Estrogen is known to cause cancer.
In
the pre-menopausal woman, administration
of natural progesterone eliminates PMS, menstrual cramps, headaches, and breast tenderness. In addition, it helps eliminate migraine headaches and allergies, including asthma. Progesterone prevents weight gain for several reasons. It is thermogenic – it helps fat burn. Progesterone helps the thyroid to function better. And, most importantly, progesterone prevents the overproduction of insulin, which is the main hormone that creates fat and keeps fat stored.
For those women who already have fybrocystic
disease or uterine fibroids, administration of natural progesterone cream will tend to make these problems disappear. There are 300 different receptor sites throughout the body for progesterone so it is easy to comprehend how important this hormone is. Women with low levels of progesterone often suffer from morning sickness when they’re pregnant and may have problems with miscarriages.
For those women in their menopause, natural progesterone
should be the primary replacement hormone and not estrogen as the usual case. Natural progesterone is more beneficial for osteoperosis than is estrogen because it both prevents osteoperosis, as well as helps bone to calcify. Estrogen is damaging to blood vessels, which is the reason why it is not recommended for women with coronary artery disease. Progesterone is very beneficial for blood vessels, and can even prevent coronary artery spasm.
As stated previously, estrogen is known to be carcinogenic. In
fact, first year Premarin was released, 60,000 women developed cancer of uterus. This is the reason why women who still have their uterus are given synthetic progestins, such as Provera, to prevent uterine cancer. Estrogen has always been a risk factor for breast cancer, and recently they discovered that Provera doubles a woman’s chance of developing breast cancer. Natural

Progesterone is very beneficial for blood vessels, and can even prevent coronary artery spasm. progesterone, on the other hand, helps to prevent cancer of the breast, uterus, and ovaries.
In addition, estrogen and synthetic progestins are lipogenic –
they create fat and cellulite. Natural progesterone helps to eliminate fat. Progesterone is the “feel good hormone” for women and helps to enhance a woman’s libido – estrogen does not. There are several factors I want to leave you with.
1. PREVENTING DISEASE
It is a lot easier to prevent disease than it is to treat it. It is very likely that breast cancer can be prevented with the simple administration of a natural hormone.
2. HORMONAL BALANCE
It is extremely important for the body’s hormones to be in balance. A deficiency of one often leads to an over-production of others which can lead to unfortunate consequences. A simple blood panel can determine a person’s hormone status, and the judicious replacement or enhancement of various hormones can allow one to live healthier for a longer period of time.
3. PROGESTERONE IS NOT A DRUG
One last thing to keep in mind. I realize that people reading this piece would think, “If natural progesterone is so beneficial why don’t we hear about it?” Please keep in mind that business runs this world. Pharmaceutical companies are big business. They cannot patent a natural product and thereby have no interest in natural hormones. Pharmaceutical companies support most of the drug research in this country, which is the main source of articles published in medical journals. This is the reason most doctors are unaware of natural progesterone, or other natural hormones, which can be replaced. This allows Premarin, and drug known to cause cancer and in damaging to blood vessels, to be the largest selling drug in the world. often think of how spring is such a lovely time of the year, but we’ve also seen some pretty nasty storms. Just because it’s a great time of the year, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have some “issues” that come with it. Too often in our life we get excited about a new season and then have our hopes “dashed against the rocks” at the first sight of a storm. We think we’re back in the old season again and that we’re never going to change. Recognize that when things start to change, the weather may get rough but that doesn’t make it a bad season.
The very rain that has been
so wonderful this spring season has been accompanied by the windy storms and the booming thunder. They will uproot things in our lives that aren’t stable and securely rooted, but that’s just part of the spring season.
Learn to measure the seasons
H
ow often do we change
seasons in our lives and never take the time to stop and look around and recognize what season we are in? The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes that there is a time for every season and a time for every thing under heaven: a time to plant, a time to sow, a time to build, a time to grow, a time to plow, a time to reap. There are all kinds of times! However, how do we know what the times and seasons of our life are? Here are three basic ways we can measure the seasons of our lives.
WHAT ARE OUR ROO T S TELLING US? We often get caught up with a “new” revelation, and we try to move beyond the foundations of truth that God’s
Word and God’s leaders have established in our lives. In this season, get back to your roots! What is your foundation trying to tell you to do? Is it pushing you to expand and grow, or is it in a time of having you contract and protect what’s inside of you? Are we even connected to our foundations enough to know what they are telling us? If you are disconnected from your roots, you’ll never know what season you are in.
WHAT ARE OUR RESOURCES GIVING US? For some people,
the recent “economic crisis” has been the best thing to ever happen; they are actually more financially stable now than they were a year ago! For others, the resources may seem a little scarce right now. What are your resources telling
you about the season you are in? If it’s raining outside and it’s sunny and warm everyday, then the trees begin to act as if it’s a spring season, but if the resources are a little dry, a little cold, and a little dark all the time, it might be a winter season… a time to contract and prepare for the next spring.
On a side note here, recognize
that a single day change isn’t a season change. I remember a few days back in winter when it bumped 70 degrees outside, but that didn’t make it spring. Wait to see if the circumstances around you are consistently different or if it’s just a temporary change. Don’t start acting like it’s winter because of one cold day, and don’t start spending like it’s “spring” just because of a few warm days.

R
ichard got his big break when a tornado roared through town and damaged much of the inventory in his small chain of highend electronics stores. Rather than bemoaning his bad luck, Richard and his team immediately began digging for the ‘golden ring of opportunity’ they knew was buried beneath the rubble. They quickly organized a tornado sale, where they discounted their remaining inventory and let customers pick it right off the shelves of their undamaged warehouse.

The sale was a huge success, so much so that Richard eventually changed to a discount warehouse model permanently. At the time of the tornado, the chain had about fewer than a dozen stores. Today, it has over 1400 all over the world. You may have heard of it – it’s called Best Buy. You could say Best Buy got its start when its founder, Richard Schulz, was nearly wiped out by a tornado.

T H E many of us are experiencing the
effects of a virtual tornado that has torn through our economy with awesome strength and fury. Jobs have been lost, mortgages foreclosed, cars repossessed, bills left unpaid, and relationships strained to the breaking point. A survey of the daily headlines points to doom and gloom, and hope seems faint and scarce.
But there is good news amidst the ‘rubble’
of change, or the disruption, fear, and uncertainty left in the wake of this economic storm: Change always creates opportunities. There is always a ring in the rubble, but you have to go find it, and I’m going to share with you how. Below are some tools to help you dig through the rubble of change in your life to find the golden ring of opportunity that lies within.
Handling Change
Recognize change is not a bad thing. Change, in and of itself, is not bad. In fact, change is the essence of life. As William Safire once wrote, “when you’re through changing, you’re through.” It’s how we handle change that makes all the difference. If we see it as an opportunity to grow, we will. Conversely, if we see it as an obstacle to growth, it will be. That’s not to say change is always easy—far from it.
Change, especially surprising or unwanted change such as losing a job or loved one, can be very difficult and extremely painful. But if you believe there is good to be found in a bad

When change hits, rather than bemoaning your fate or staying stuck where you are, trust Him and get digging for that ring instead. situation, you give yourself a chance to find it. It may be helpful to remember that God is always in the rubble, too. There is no change that is too big for Him to handle. You Are Not Alone
Use painful change as an opportunity to get closer to God. When life is easy and things go the way we want and expect, we may begin to take our blessings for granted. Therefore, use
painful change as an opportunity to get closer to God. It’s when we need God the most that He wants to comfort us the most. Let tough times remind you that you are not alone, that you can’t do it alone, and that He is always there, through good times and bad. Pray that He will be right there digging for the ring along side you, and His presence will sustain you. And, when time passes and things change for the better (as they always do), carry that strengthened relationship forward and build it from there.
Looking to God, Not Man
Don’t expect loved ones to provide the peace and comfort that only God can provide. Change can create pressure, and as the pressure builds, we naturally turn to those we are closest to for comfort and emotional support. But recognize that change is very likely impacting your loved ones too, and they are also feeling the pressure. Unlike God, our emotional reserves can run dry. We may have little left over to give one another. Therefore, rather than turning to each other for sustenance, together turn towards God and pray for His strength and guidance as you dig for the ring. Pray for His power to help build your relationship during times of strain, and that you will not look to others to give you the comfort that only He can provide. By so doing, He will sustain you and help you grow closer to one another, as together, you grow closer to Him.
Letting Go
Forgive: Let go of whatever is holding you down or holding you back. It is practically impossible to grasp new opportunities when we are clutching onto old wounds and resentments. It is natural to feel anger and perhaps bitterness at first when you feel wronged, perhaps by a company that has let you go, or by a personal relationship turned sour. Holding onto that anger or bitterness only hurts you over the long run. Potential employers may shy away from hiring someone with a soured attitude, and new relationships may become contaminated before they’ve begun.
Forgiveness is a powerful tool for letting
go. Pray that God will lift the burdens you carry, by helping you forgive those whom you perceive burdened you to begin with. Forgiveness brings freedom, and freedom brings energy, and energy brings life. Forgive others to free yourself.
Unchanging Truth
Latch on to your core values and what matters most. While change is the essence of life, some

focus on a cause larger than yourself, your problems will begin to fade in significance. It’s possible, even, that God has us experience painful change so we can learn from it to help others when they go through something similar. Helping others get through change is one of the best ways I know to help yourself get through it, too.
Change is the great equalizer. It impacts

Your core values fall in that category. When times are tough, the hour dark, and you are not sure where to turn next, your core values will guide you. As Christians, of course, we find those values and practical guidance in the eternal word of God, passed on to us via the Bible. While regular Bible study is always a good idea, it is particularly important and comforting to rely on God’s word and unchanging truth when it seems as if everything else in your life is changing and your world has been turned upside down.
Returning to the Word again and again
is like returning to a safe harbor. It is a place of refuge and revival that will support you when change has begun to wear you down and wear you out. With daily Bible study and reflection, you’ll begin your dig anew each day with the confidence that God’s truth reigns in life, come what may.
This is Bigger Than You
Focus on a cause larger than your self. Repeat after me: I am not the center of the universe. When change hits it is easy get caught up in our own experience and believe no one else has ever gone through anything like it before. In fact, nearly the opposite is true. Whatever you are going through, others likely have gone through it many times before. We all experience health and sickness, gain and loss, life and death. As we have seen, it is how we respond to that change that makes all the difference.
One
of the best ways to respond is to
reach out beyond yourself to help others. When you focus on helping someone else, when you
us all. God is the Great Ruler, and He loves us all. Where He creates rubble, He also creates rings. If we trust Him and dig for the ring He has provided, even the most difficult change and times of our lives will eventually lead to us to something good and something better. God is there in the good times, and He is in the rubble too. Digging for the ring only brings us closer to Him. DR. did – then why are legislators on Capitol Hill issuing 300-pluspage bills at 3 a.m. in an effort to give earth dominion over man?
In yet another political victory for President Barack
Obama, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the cap-andtrade bill, also known as the American Clean Energy and Security Act, in late June. The vote was a slim 219-212. In the guise of cutting U.S. emissions of greenhouse gases, the bill violates God’s Word: “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have dominion…” (Genesis 1:28 AMP).
At the heart of the American Clean Energy and Security
Act is the controversial cap-and-trade program. Here’s how it works: In order to emit greenhouse gases, a company needs government permits equal to the number of carbon dioxide tonnage it wants to emit. The federal government plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by issuing fewer permits each year. Specifically, the bill mandates U.S. emissions be cut by 20 percent below 2005 levels by 2010, 42 percent by 2030 and 83 percent by 2050.

promise of cap-and-trade is to stimulate innovative
ways to produce goods and services using less energy from carbonbased fuels. But it comes at a great cost to American consumers and flies in the face of Scripture. Indeed, some characterize cap-and-trade as nothing more than a hidden tax on the American people while the poor get poorer and Wall Street gets richer. The good news is the American Clean Energy and Security Act hasn’t passed through the Senate yet. That means there’s still time to enforce God’s Word on the earth.

tax proposals would cost the average American household $3,900 a year. Climatologist Dr. S. Fred Singer has called cap-and-trade the “equivalent of an atomic bomb directed at the U.S. economy – all without any scientific justification.” Experts insist capand-trade would raise taxes, raise the cost of energy, raise the

number of companies that go bankrupt, raise unemployment, and raise poverty. Again, God’s Word says that man has dominion over the earth. The cap-and-trade program clearly gives the needs of the earth priority over the needs of man.

CRIPPLING U.S. MANUFACTURING
Cap-and-trade is not just going to cost the American people more of their hard earned money, it’s also going to drive up the federal debt. According to the Heritage Foundation, the federal debt would rise to about $30,000 per person by 2035. That means the next generation would see higher energy costs, less income and fewer job prospects, says David Kreutzer, a senior policy analyst in Energy Economics and Climate Change at The Heritage Foundation, a public policy research institute in Washington, D.C.
“This bill is supposed to be for the benefit
of the next generation,” Kreutzer says. “But cap-and-trade reduces temperatures only five one-hundredths of a degree by 2050. I don’t think I want that deal. My family would owe $115,000 more and it’s not much cooler. What people need to realize is that cap-and-trade works like a tax. This is an energy tax – and it’s a big one. All taxes discourage economic activity.”

SAP expects to accelerate its ability to meet the carbon management requirements of organizations in this time of increasingly stringent government regulations and expectations for better transparency by the public.

STOPPING CAP-AND-TRADE
The move toward the hidden taxes that are capand-trade didn’t spring up overnight, and the root runs deep into the green movement. Environmental activists have been driving toward this type of sweeping climate legislation for the past 30 years. The goal is to reshape the way America uses energy, according to Andrew M. Langer, President of The Institute for Liberty, a Washington, D.C.-based advocacy organization focused on the impact of federal public policy on small business and entrepreneurship.

So wide, in fact, that few voters even know what the proposed legislation is all about, according to a May Rasmussen poll. Given a choice of three options, just 24 percent of voters can correctly identify the cap-and-trade proposal as something that deals with environmental issues. A slightly higher number (29 percent) believe the proposal has something to do with regulating Wall Street while 17 percent think the term applies to health care reform. A plurality (30 percent) have no idea.

Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). And He certainly doesn’t respond to your doubts. He responds to your unwavering faith. The storms will come, but they won’t blow you hither and thither if your faith is unwavering.

DOUBT WILL DESTROY YOUR PRAYER LIFE The Apostle Paul used doubt and wrath in the same breath when he gave his spiritual son Timothy instructions for godly behavior. “I desire therefore that in every place men should pray, without anger or quarreling or resentment or doubt [in their minds], lifting up holy hands” (1 Timothy 2:59 AMP). Resentment, quarrelling and anger will hinder your prayer life – but doubt will destroy it.

od has not given us a spirit of
fear. So why do we fear? Where did fear first manifest in the soul of man? Like many other problems that plague mankind today, fear can be traced all the way back to the Garden of Eden. Fear’s first manifestation comes shortly before Adam’s fall from dominion. In fact, it had a role to play in Eve’s poor judgment. If we read Genesis Chapter 3 through that lens, we find a perspective on fear we may never have considered – and one that may positively impact our lives.
Indeed, by taking a fresh look at Genesis
3 we’ll see that fear first entices us not to trust God with its subtle whispers. If we act on that distrust, a different flavor of fear follows as a result of our disobedience. This destructive cycle continues as fear attempts to keep us from taking responsibility for that disobedience so it can continue to torment our unrepentant souls. Fear doesn’t fight fair. I see it as the enemy’s wickedest strategy of all. I am convinced that fear is the master spirit the devil uses to steal, kill and destroy. It is a perversion of faith and it seeks to discredit the love of God at every turn. Without a revelation of the love of God, we cannot mature to the full stature of Christ.

So let’s go back to the very beginning and
look at fear’s first manifestation. We learn in Genesis 3:1 that the serpent (through whom the devil was speaking) was subtler than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. He demonstrated that subtlety with his clever interrogation of Eve. “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” the serpent asked. Eve told the serpent she and Adam were permitted to eat of the from any tree except the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. If they ate from that tree, she explained, they would die.
Fear Challenges God’s Will
The serpent wasted no time in challenging God’s Word in Eve’s life. “You shall not surely die,” he said. “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3:5). The Bible doesn’t reveal what was going on in Eve’s mind, and there are many layers of revelation about the fall of man and the circumstances leading up to it. But I submit to you that fear played into the equation of Eve’s fateful decision.

best thing for her and her husband. Eve feared that God was holding out on the young couple. Eve feared she would miss out on something good if she took God at HisWord. That fear of missing out clouded her judgment to the point that she never considered the consequences of following another voice. Eve’s sin was ultimately unbelief. But it was fear that led her to doubt’s doorway and into that sinful realm of unbelief. The Bible says whatever is not of faith is sin (Romans 14:23). Eve’s decision was not of faith. In other words, her choice was not based on believing the Word of God. It was based on what I call the “fear of.”
Most people have a “fear of” something,
but most people don’t have a “fear of ” everything. It is possible to be full of faith in one area and full of fear in another. I speak from experience. Many American, red-haired, freckle-faced women would “fear” traveling to a Muslim nation alone. Some would fear glacier flying in a tiny plane in Alaska. Others would fear speaking to congressional representatives on Capitol Hill about the need to stand with Israel against its enemies. I did all of that and feared none of it. But I had a “fear of ” other things that caused me not to embrace God’s master plan for my life for years – and I didn’t even know it. Remember, the serpent was subtler than any best of the field the Lord God had made. His master weapon, fear, is often just as subtle. It has to be. Once we can see it, we can defeat it by deciding to believe the Word of God rather than the word of the devil.
Saul’s Fearful Fate
But let’s get back to Adam and Eve. We see that Eve’s fear of God keeping something good from her caused her to disobey God. Let’s strip out the storytelling and say it this way: Fear leads you into disobedience. Need another witness? Fear caused Saul to disobey God’s established priestly authority. King Saul’s fall occurred just before what looked to be a fierce battle between the Israelites and their archenemy, the Philistines. The Philistines gathered themselves to fight with Israel, with 30,000 chariots, 6,000 horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the sea shore in multitude (1 Samuel 13:5). The Bible says the Israelites were distressed and even trembling with fear.

had instructed him to wait there for seven days. Samuel was going to fulfill the priestly duty of sacrificing to God before the battle. Seven days came and went and Samuel didn’t show up at

Gilgal. Saul’s army began to give into the fear and scatter. That’s when fear led Saul into disobedience. Instead of waiting for Samuel to show up, Saul took matters into his own hands and offered the burnt offering himself. Wouldn’t you know it? Just as soon as he’d finished his act of fearful disobedience, Samuel showed up asking for an explanation. As the story goes, Saul admitted he was fearful. Samuel called him foolish and told him his kingdom would not continue. Ouch!

The first revelation they had was that they were naked, and they were ashamed. They sewed fig leaves together and made themselves clothes. Suddenly, they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. Adam and Eve hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.

perfection or they would have simply confessed their sin and received forgiveness. Do you know what? I believe God would have forgiven their sin and cleansed them from all unrighteousness. But instead of admitting to God what happened and repenting, fear led them into another sin: blame.

Listen to how Adam responded when the
Eve bowed to the “fear of.” Likewise, Saul lost his kingship because he gave in to the “fear of.” What about you? How is fear robbing you from the fullness of your kingship? Thank God we are in a time of grace. God is not going to strip us of our kingship for falling into the disobedience based on fear if we repent.
Is Fear Robbing Your Kingship?
But that leads me to the next strategy of fear: irresponsibility. The same fear that tempted us to disobey will also try to convince us to blame the disobedience on another person or on circumstances. In that way, fear attempts to keep us from repenting so that we continue to walk in darkness instead of seeing the light. Fear, then, continues to have its way. And fear’s way is torment.
Let me show you this pattern in the Word.
We see it with Adam, Eve and Saul. Let’s begin at the beginning with Adam. Shortly after eating

Why
God

would you hide? One definition of “hide” is to “seek protection or evade responsibility.” Both made up Adam’s motivation. He knew all too well he had disobeyed his Creator. He knew he blew it. He didn’t want to face the living God because he wasn’t sure what God would do to him. He knew God had the power to give life, and he probably knew God had the power to take it. But Adam’s response to God shows me that Adam and Eve didn’t really know the heart of God. They didn’t really understand His nature or His character. If they really knew Him, they wouldn’t have been so quick to disobey His command, which was for their own good, and then hide in fear.

How do I know that? Because the Bible says: “There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection]” (1 John 4:18 AMP).

Lord asked Adam and Even how they came to eat the forbidden fruit: “And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat” (Genesis 3:12-13).

lost their kingship, were
expelled from the garden by the mercy of God, and failed to fulfill God’s master plan for their lives. What was that master plan? To be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth (Genesis 1:28). In other words, to use that blessing to turn the whole earth into the Garden of Eden.

to make excuses for
his disobedience. When Samuel asked Saul why he had offered the sacrifice, something kings were not anointed to do, he answered: “Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash; Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the Lord: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering” (1 Samuel 13:11-12).

Our will power alone is no match for the spirit of fear, but the Spirit of Truth is more than capable throwing fear to the mat and keeping it down for the count. responsibility to avoid punishment. But by shirking the responsibility, I believe Saul brought upon himself a greater punishment. We have to remember that God is slow to anger and abounding in mercy. He is long-suffering and kind. He doesn’t keep His anger for ever. I believe if Saul had taken a repentant attitude about his mistake, he could have held on to his kingship. Instead, fear besmirched his legacy.
Fighting Off the Spirit of Fear
What about your legacy? Will you stand in the face of fear no matter what form it takes? Or will you allow this wicked spirit to outmaneuver you? We must learn to recognize fear at its onset – and we have to overcome or it will overcome us. Maybe you are like me. Maybe you’ve had some run ins with fear that almost took you out of God’s will. Or maybe you’ve failed to receive God’s promises because fear’s subtle voice caused you to doubt He’d do it for you. Or maybe fear manifests through anger, stress or some other emotion. Make no mistake, fear is at the root of many of our ungodly thoughts and feelings.
So how do we overcome fear? Well, the
Bible says God has not given us a spirit of fear, but He has given us three things to combat it. He’s
given us power, He has given us His love, and He has given us a sound mind. Here’s what the Lord showed me: We overcome fear with the power of the Holy Ghost. It’s with this power that we resist fear and cause it to flee. Our will power alone is no match for the spirit of fear, but the Spirit of Truth is more than capable throwing fear to the mat and keeping it down for the count. God has given us His power, His authority, His anointing. It’s up to us to use it in the face of fear.
Likewise, God has given us His love. God’s
love is perfect. It’s the revelation of this love that casts out fear and its torment. When you begin to feel fear (nobody ever said you wouldn’t feel fear but that doesn’t mean we have to act on it) begin to confess God’s love for you. Remind yourself of God’s perfect love for you and you will trade your anxiety for the peace of God that passes all understanding. Finally, God has given us a sound mind. I like to look at it this way: God has given us the sound mind of Christ. Christ feared nothing. The world has tribulation, but we aren’t supposed to fear. We are supposed to be of good cheer because Christ overcame the world. We have the mind of Christ, and this is the victory that overcomes the world – and the fear that runs rampant through it – our faith.

The Obama administration and Congressional leaders are on a crusade to destroy the Second Amendment. F ueled by a violence-obsessed media, politicians are blaming American firearms for killings by lawless Mexico drug cartels, and they are pushing for sweeping new gun control laws that will punish law-abiding gun owners in the U.S. During a recent trip to Mexico, President Obama pledged to stop the “southern flow of guns.”
“As [Mexican President Filipe] Calderón and I discussed, I am
urging the Senate in the United States to ratify an inter-American treaty known as CIFTA to curb small arms trafficking that is a source of so many of the weapons used in this drug war,” said President Obama in Mexico City.
AMENDMENT
The CIFTA
treaty, officially titled the
“Inter-
American Convention Against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Other Related Materials,” was signed by President Bill Clinton, but never ratified by the Senate.
Supporters of the treaty hope the large Democrat
majority in the Senate will lead to a quick vote for ratification. But while proponents claim the treaty is not a threat to the Second Amendment, GOA warns Congress that approval of CIFTA will be an abrogation of its duty to uphold the Constitution.

Of the firearms traced by the U.S. in 2007-2008, only about half
were done so successfully. Of that number, 90 percent were traced to this country. That amounts to about 17 percent of the total number of crime guns that are confiscated by Mexican authorities, a far cry from the 90 percent touted by the Obama administration. And even that number is inflated. Many firearms are sent to the Mexico government legitimately in shipments approved by U.S. authorities, but these guns often are filtered to the cartels through disaffected military personnel in Mexico. Mexican soldiers who deserted the Army in the last six years took their weapons with them.

The cartel might have had an informant inside the American embassy.”

U. S. GOVERNMENT RIGHT Our children should not be taught to “trust and parrot.” By Dr. Arthur Robinson

s our children go through life, they will continually
interact with government. Under present conditions in the United States, government will confiscate about half of everything they ever earn – through direct taxes on their wages and taxes on the people and institutions with whom they conduct business. Government regulations and bureaucrats will limit their activities in business, recreation, home life, and even in the exercise of their Christian faith. Government may draft them to fight in war. Virtually every newspaper they read will be filled with reports of the actions of federal, state, and local government.

our homeschools must teach children about
government. This education is complicated by the fact that we have essentially two classes of governments – the ones that Americans have agreed to under the federal Constitution and Bill of Rights, state constitutions, and local charters and the ones that we live under, which
are quite different. Perpetuated by now vast bureaucracies and often unprincipled politicians, these governments have assumed roles that are not specified or permitted by agreement with the people. This second class – the government we have today – continually spends vast resources “educating” the people with propaganda activities. About which class of government should we teach our children? The practical answer must be both.
LEARNING FROM ORIGINAL WRITINGS
In the early years of homeschooling, education about American government can be restricted largely to the study of history. The minds of children who are still too young to comprehend the details of government documents can learn the underlying concepts through the eyes of those who created them. This can be done by studying appropriate history books or by reading biographies, autobiographies, and other writings about and by those who created our government. I much prefer the teaching of history through autobiographies.

Grant and William Sherman and the writings of Abraham Lincoln on the Union side and the autobiographies of Jefferson Davis and Alexander Stephens (president and vice-president of the Confederacy) on the Confederate Side. Adding the autobiography of Booker T. Washington for a view of post-Civil War America is also valuable. Alternately, one could read a textbook about the civil war by some modern historian; one who will probably give an account that fits the particular social agenda that the writer wished to promote. The autobiographical method is much more accurate.
As
the student grows older , the actual documents of
government should be studied – the documents themselves and not textbooks telling about the documents. There is no substitute for studying the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in their entirety. But what about explaining them to the student? Again, the original is better. The student should read the Federalist Papers and other writings in which the founding fathers themselves debated the issues underlying their creation of our government.
In addition, the student should read autobiographical writings
such as those by George Washington and Benjamin Franklin; books by scholars who influenced the founding fathers or who eloquently described their principles such as John Locke, Frederick Bastiat, and Adam Smith, and later writers who worked to perpetuate their principles such as David Crockett, Henry Hazlitt, and Leonard Read. These are not just dry, scholarly works. The autobiographies of great Americans and the principal writings by which they attempted to influence events are some of the most interesting and entertaining books in the English language – written with the skill and erudition that we would like our children to emulate in their own writing and speech.
INSPIRE THEM TO THINK FOR THEMSELVES
Petr Beckmann, an outstanding American scientist who was a refugee from Communist Czechoslovakia, wrote often about the “trust and parrot” method by which too many Americans form their opinions – especially about science. He wrote many articles in which he urged his readers to not believe him. Instead, he gave them the primary scientific references and asked them to read those documents and compare their conclusions with his own.

(or
anything else, for that
matter), our children should not be taught to “trust and parrot.” They should

government as it was
created, the student is then well-prepared to study government as it is currently practiced and reported in the daily media. The difference is, of course, astonishing. The last and best hope for the long-term preservation of American freedom and the remarkable legacy of the constitutional republic created by our founding fathers is in the education of young Americans to think and learn for themselves the truth about government as it ought to be.

turned the reigns over to Ronald Reagan we had a higher inflation rate and just about the same unemployment rate as when Bush left office,” Moore says. “The solution was what we call Reaganomics, which was smaller government, less spending, lower taxes and control of the money supply to keep inflation down. Right now, we have none of those things.”
Moore also believes our morality is under
attack. President Barack Obama’s comments about the United States not being a Christian nation have unsettled Moore’s spirit. Moore, for one, would like to know what gives Obama the right to make that declaration when the Supreme Court of the United States disagrees. Beyond a lack of Christian leadership, he says much of the nation’s problem is that the lines between what’s right and wrong are blurring.
“Historically, our definition of right and ordained by God. Once you destroy the standard, wrong is from God and the holy Scriptures. When we divorce God from everything in our lives, then we have no standard of what’s wrong. Every man is right in his own eyes and prudent in his own sight,” Moore says. “Same sex marriage is not about same sex couples getting together. It’s about the destruction of the definition of the institution

If conservatives would unite around bettering our country and people’s lives, he says, things would change.

button one more time? I know I have. Maybe you had a really busy weekend and feel exhausted. Maybe you know that as soon as you arrive at the office, an overwhelming project will await your attention on your desk. We may all have days when we do not feel like getting up for work, but we should always know why we get up and go. No matter what your position, industry or role at work, you are not at your current job by accident. You are there to do so much more than collect your paycheck and pay your bills. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ and God has blessed you with a job, He has handpicked you to be His salt and light in the marketplace.

in my career,
I
could have been referred to as
a “quick job-change artist.” I was a committed Christian, fresh from college, yet I darted from one job to the next, holding four different jobs over three years. Each time I quit, I cited numerous reasons for my quick departures: My boss was mean; my coworkers were lazy or irresponsible; no one in the office seemed to take the company’s mission seriously; and several co-workers were cheating on their spouses. I thought my disgust was godly and that life was unbearable.

and land the perfect job! When friends and family would ask me why I quit my latest job, I would answer stoically, “Darkness. I was surrounded by darkness.” What a great Christian I was! Too holy to get tainted by all that darkness! I was young and highly employable, yet the perfect job seemed perpetually out of reach.

Predictably, the abrupt starts and stops began to take
a toll on me. All my righteous indignation didn’t change the fact that I was stressed out and miserable. Here I am, I thought, trying to follow the Lord, taking a stand against darkness by leaving intolerable work environments – yet something is terribly wrong.
One
night,
I
cried out to
God
in sheer desperation.
I
knelt in prayer and asked, Why do I feel this way, Lord? Why am I constantly confronted with darkness in the places where you have made it possible for me to work? Where is the light?
Almost
instantaneously, a still, small voice answered
me in my spirit: You are the light.
That
moment forever changed my entire outlook on
work and my role in the marketplace. Suddenly, I understood that I carried the presence of God with me even in the most dark and uncomfortable places where He had blessed me with the opportunity to work. This was the beginning of an ongoing revelation for me and laid the foundation for so much more that I would experience later.
CHALLENGES WITH A PURPOSE
As the Lord taught me more about this unique ministry, I began to understand that our assignment in the marketplace is a means for God to work out His will in our lives and in the lives of others. This means that we have God’s power behind us, even in the most challenging situations. I remember one opportunity I had to labor for the Lord under extreme pressure.
I know that because of my respectful attitude toward authority, I had far more opportunities to witness to the people around me than I would have if I had handled the trial differently. During my work as an executive with an internationally
known organization, I was promoted twice over five years. With each promotion, I encountered a higher-level supervisor who was literally under demonic influence. I was harassed, humiliated and tormented on almost a daily basis. One supervisor made a point of belittling me in the public hallway in front of my staff. To say I was under pressure is an understatement. I regularly retreated to the bathroom to cry, to pray, to cry and pray.
God gave me the strength to stand, though. From day
one, I refused to gossip about my supervisor with anyone. I just kept doing my job as unto the Lord. My staff and others marveled at how I kept a respectful attitude toward her as I continued to perform my work diligently. My response ended up having such an impact on others that they began coming to me for prayer and advice. I know that because of my respectful attitude toward authority, I had far more opportunities to witness to the people around me than I would have if I had handled the trial differently.

my supervisor’s mean spirited behavior to distract me from my heavenly purpose.
As I walked with God during this challenge, I learned to cast my cares on Him because He cares for me (see 1 Peter 5:7) and to lean on Him when I felt weak: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31, KJV).

Him, too, as you walk out His call for you in the marketplace. Remember, your identification with Christ comes with a commitment to a faith-filled life. Sovereign God has already walked every place that your journey in the marketplace will take you. also learned how to pray earnestly and faithfully
about my marketplace assignment: “Father, bless my supervisor and cause her to do ‘good’ to me, whether she wants to or not. Lord, I thank You for preserving me and keeping me in this place, until such time as You move my supervisor or move me.” To date, I prayed that same specific prayer for two different supervisors. God moved the first supervisor out of that job and that organization. In the case of the second supervisor, God moved me on to a different job.

GETTING
OUT OF DEBT Ending the Cycle of Financial Slavery
W
ith home mortgages, school loans, and car loans,
young couples today may owe more than $140,000 within the first couple of years of marriage. This may seem normal to many, but God’s Word says debt isn’t normal, especially long-term debt (see Deuteronomy 15:6; Psalm 37:21; Romans 13:8).
If you’re already in debt, you can break the debt cycle with
desire, discipline, and time. Using these five basic steps you can become debt free and stay that way.
1. TRANSFER OWNERSHIP
Income into living expense categories – including repayment of creditors. Write to each creditor with a repayment proposal, but promise only what can be paid every month. Include a financial statement and budget that shows how much will be paid to each creditor.
If you need to generate extra funds by working overtime or on an extra job, all money generated by the extra work must go to eliminate the debt for this to be effective.
5. RETIRE THE DEBT
God forces His will on no one; you must willingly surrender your will and possessions to God. Prayerfully transfer ownership of every possession to God – money, job, time, material possessions, family, education, and future earning potential (see Psalm 8:6).
Pay extra on the debts with the highest interest rates. If all interest rates are comparable, begin paying extra on the smallest balance. After that debt has been paid, apply the regular payment as well as the extra money that was going to it toward the next highest balance. After the second is paid off, then the third highest and so forth.
2. GIVE THE LORD HIS PART
No
Once you’ve transferred ownership to God, give Him the first part, the tithe of gross income. If you withhold from God, it indicates that ownership hasn’t been transferred. Give Him freedom to work unobstructed on behalf of your finances – give Him the tithe – and He can give us His best.
3. ALLOW NO MORE DEBT
Don’t use any more credit or credit cards until all existing debt has been paid. Pay with cash, check, or debit card at the time of purchase. Don’t borrow any more money from institutions, family, or friends until all indebtedness (home mortgage excepted) has been satisfied.
4. DEVELOP A REALISTIC BUDGET
You’ll need a written budget that allocates percentages of Net Spendable

symbol of America’s struggle for liberty and selfgovernment, Patrick Henry was a lawyer, patriot, orator, and willing participant in virtually every aspect of the founding of America. He was twice married, to Sarah Shelton, and to Dorothea Dandridge.

John Henry educated young Patrick at home, including teaching him to read Latin, but Patrick studied law on his own. In 1760, he appeared in Williamsburg to take his attorney’s examination before Robert Carter Nicholas, Edmund Pendleton, John and Peyton Randolph, and George Wythe, and from that day forward, Patrick Henry’s story is inseparable from the stream of Virginia history.

ACTIONS MARKED THE BEGINNING OF REVOLUTION IN VIRGINIA
Henry’s call to arms was carried over the protests of more conservative patriots and was one of the causes of the order for Lord Dunmore, the royal governor, to remove some gunpowder from the magazine. Henry, “a Quaker in religion but the very devil in politics,” mobilized the militia to force restitution of the powder. Since Henry’s action followed the British march on Concord by only a few hours, it is said to mark the beginning of the American Revolution in Virginia.

In 1763, arguing the famed Parson’s Cause in Hanover County, Patrick Henry proclaimed that a king who would veto a good and necessary law made by a locally elected representative body was not a father to his people but “a tyrant who forfeits the allegiance of his subjects.” Henry amplified his idea to the point of treason in defending his resolutions against the Stamp Act in the House of Burgesses May 30, 1765.

Five of his resolutions approved, the new leader in Virginia politics saddled his lean horse and took the westward road out of Williamsburg. (After his departure, one of the resolutions was overturned.) Henceforth, Patrick Henry was a leader in every protest against British tyranny and in every movement for colonial rights.

Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty?
In March 1775, Patrick Henry urged his fellow Virginians to arm in self-defense, closing his appeal (uttered at St. John’s Church in Richmond, where the legislature was meeting) with the immortal words: “I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death.”
Henry served in the Virginia House of Burgesses; he was a member of the Virginia committee of Correspondence, a delegate to the Virginia Convention, and a deleg ate to the Virginia Constitution Ratification Convention. He played a prominent role in the May 6, 1776, convention and became the first governor of the commonwealth under its new constitution. Patrick Henry served five terms as governor of Virginia. He died in 1799 at his home on Red Hill Plantation.

THE LAW OF EMPOWERMENT By Dr. John C. Maxwell
B
iographers universally agree that
personal insecurity factored heavily in the downfall of former American President Richard Nixon. Rather than empowering others, President Nixon clutched at power so tightly that he lost all sense of morality and ethics. Obsessively fearing his critics, Nixon authorized a domestic espionage group to spy on his political opponents. When members of the group
were caught burglarizing the Watergate Hotel, Nixon tried unsuccessfully to cover up the incident. Eventually he resigned in shame, having left a dubious legacy of scandal.
Nixon’s
behavior in office violated the
Law of Empowerment: Only Secure Leaders Give Power to Others.
Today, at a time when managers must do
more with less – less people, less budget, less margin for error – leaders have no choice but to empower followers to share the load. Insecurity simply isn’t compatible with survival. Even so, human nature resists empowerment. Let’s look at three common tendencies that make empowerment a tricky task.

THE THREE OBSTACLES TO EMPOWERMENT 1. DESIRE FOR JOB SECURITY
The number one enemy of empowerment is the desire for job security. Weak leaders worry that they will become expendable if they train up talented subordinates. As a result, they retain a monopoly on select knowledge in the hopes of positioning themselves as irreplaceable. Some misguided leaders even go as far as undercutting those they perceive as potential rivals. Not wanting to be surpassed, they intentionally make others look bad from time to time.
The purpose of power is to be distributed, not hoarded, but only secure leaders are able to give their power away. Recognize and resist the natural inclinations to keep a tight grip on power. In the long run, you’ll be rewarded for letting go. Insecure
leaders who prize job security
are fiercely territorial. They stake out their turf and refuse to delegate. They want to be the goto-guys so badly that they may senselessly refuse to train and empower others who could offer them assistance.
The
truth is that the only way to make
yourself indispensable is to make yourself dispensable. In other words, if you are continually able to empower others and develop them so that they become capable of taking over your job, then you will become so valuable to the organization that you become indispensable.
2. RESISTANCE TO CHANGE
Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck asserted, “It is the nature of man as he grows older to protect against change, particularly change for the better.” By its very nature, empowerment brings constant change in that it encourages people to grow and innovate. Change is the price of progress.

Insecure leaders view change as a threat
rather than an opportunity. They fear change rather than inviting it. As a consequence, insecure leaders have been known to act coldly toward newcomers. They cling to the established order and generally resent anyone who may disrupt it. Instead of empowering incoming personnel, they avoid working with them.
3. LACK OF SELF-WORTH
Many people derive personal value and esteem from their title or position. When either is threatened, they feel as if their self-worth is under assault. Accordingly, they will firmly resist anyone or anything that could reduce their status.
On the other hand, author Buck Rogers
says, “To those who have confidence in themselves, change is a stimulus because they believe one person can make a difference and influence what goes on around them. These people are the doers and the motivators.” They are also the empowerers.
Enlarging others makes you larger. The
purpose of power is to be distributed, not hoarded, but only secure leaders are able to give their power away. Recognize and resist the natural inclinations to keep a tight grip on power. In the long run, you’ll be rewarded for letting go.
I’ll close with a quotation on empowerment from decorated war hero and former vice presidential candidate, James B. Stockdale:
“Leadership must be based on goodwill... It means obvious and wholehearted commitment to helping followers... What we need for leaders are men of heart who are so helpful that they, in effect, do away with the need of their jobs. But leaders like that are never out of a job, never out of followers. Strange as it sounds, great leaders gain authority by giving it away.”

THE VOICE: In “Dred Scott’s Revenge” you address the role of the government and the denial of freedoms based on race. What did you learn about true freedom while writing that book? JUDGE NAPOLITANO: I learned some uncomfortable truths. The country was founded on the principle that all men are created equal. Our rights are inalienable and they come from God. Jefferson wedded to the national soul the idea of the natural law, which basically says our rights come from our humanity. We are created by God in His image and likeness and since He is perfectly free we are perfectly free. And that doesn’t depend upon the consent of the government or even the consent of our neighbors. Your right to think as you wish, to say what you think, to write what you say, to travel where you want, your right to be left alone,

your right to worship, your right to personal intimacy, these are as natural to you as the fingers on the ends of your hand.
pursuit of happiness in the Declaration of Independence – the same generation that wrote in the Constitution that no person shall be denied life, liberty or property without due process of law – changed that for a class of people based on the color of their skin. They preached natural law and enforced it for themselves, but followed positivism for blacks.
The opposite of this view is called positivism. Positivism is the ugly school of law that says the law is whatever the law giver says it is. So if an Adolf Hitler is validly elected, and if his Reichstag validly enacts racial purity laws, those are valid laws that may be enforced. Now you may think that can’t happen here. Well, of course, it did happen here. That was the lesson of Dred Scott’s Revenge. One of the first pieces of legislation that the father of our country, George Washington, signed was the Fugitive Slave Law which said that any white person or any free black in the North could kidnap a runaway slave with impunity and return the slave to the slave’s owner for a reward. And that to knowingly allow a slave to escape or to help a slave to escape made you liable to the owner of the slave.

Now you might say, “This was 200 years ago. Could it happen again?” There are some dark clouds on the horizon. Dred Scott himself was born a slave in Virginia and he was taken to Illinois by his masters where he claimed that he was free and he filed a lawsuit demanding the court to recognize his freedom. Ten years later, because he moved around from master to master and the lawsuit followed him around wherever he went, he ends up before the Supreme Court of the United States. The Supreme Court of the United States in the Dred Scott case could have said “once a slave always a slave” it could also have said “once set free you are forever free.” Instead it came down with the most horrific resolution

Napolitano possible when it said that we can’t hear this case because Dred Scott is not a person and only persons may file lawsuits. So black people in America were obviously not persons. They were not intended to be under the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence. Now this ruling enabled legislature in the North to enslave free blacks because they were no longer persons. You may say, “This was 1857 and that’s not going to happen in our lifetime.” But it did in Roe vs. Wade when the Supreme Court said that babies in the womb (we refuse to call them babies we call them fetuses because that sounds less human) are not persons and therefore, (A) no one can sue on their behalf, and (B) they have no legal rights, so (C) they may be murdered up to the moment of birth. What’s the lesson for all of this? The lesson is that when the government fails to protect the natural law, when it fails to protect our natural rights, when it thinks it can take our rights away from us by a simple act of legislation or a command from the president, or an opinion from a court, then we have lost everything that we stand for including our humanity. JUDGE NAPOLITANO: The easy thing is to vote these people out of office, but they were just elected. The Obama folks were just elected with a huge majority. It wasn’t just the Obama folks that got us here. It started with both parties. If you really want to know when this started, it started with Abraham Lincoln. Because Abraham Lincoln enacted illegal income tax, fought an illegal war, and arrested people because they disagreed with him. After Lincoln was dead you would need a permit from Washington to have a carriage go across the street or build a house if you were in a southern state. So it goes way back. But George W. Bush in the Patriot Act destroyed our rights to privacy by letting federal agents write their own search warrants. The TARP program destroyed freedom of contract and destroyed the freedom to fail by borrowing money from the Chinese so that the government could bail them out. Barak Obama in the legislation and the executive orders he has issued has destroyed freedom of contract and has also destroyed the freedom to fail and is thus destroying free enterprise as we know it. It’s not likely these people, if voted out of office, would be replaced by people that disagree with

them because its just a Republican version of big government vs. a Democrat version of big government. nose at the leaders of the Republican Party and win Republican primaries, or they need to run as third-party candidates. Until enough people like that get in the government, this is only going to get worse. Jefferson himself predicted that in the long run government always grows and freedom is always diminished. A sad prediction, but true. THE VOICE: Indeed. Hopefully, this interview will inspire some folks to rally around candidates who are for smaller government and for the rights of the people and the states.

can’t go – people like that need to get into the government. But candidly Jennifer, people like that don’t get into the government. People that think like you and I do typically don’t run for office. Most people run for office because they like the government, they like to exercise power and they want to control other people’s lives. Only Ron Paul and Barry Goldwater publically stated that ‘I’m running for office because I want to shrink the government.’ There are some practical things we can do, but they are nearly impossible. If we got rid of the 16th amendment we would starve the government. That would bring it to its normal size because that would deny it the
right to tax our incomes. If we got rid of the 17th amendment that would allow state legislatures to elect senators and then the senators would be very loyal to the states that sent them. Otherwise they would lose their jobs they covet so much and they wouldn’t enact legislation that impaired state sovereignty. But amending the Constitution is difficult and cumbersome. It’s been done 27 times but usually in areas that the public didn’t care about or overwhelmingly and ardently wanted. JUDGE NAPOLITANO: You know one of the things to do is to understand the natural law. A lot of my conservative colleagues supported the Patriot Act because they thought that it kept us safe. It’s a big argument as to whether giving up your freedoms keeps you safe. I would argue that it doesn’t. But when you think about it, it is a simple piece of legislation that lets federal agents violate the Constitution. If the American people understood that, there would be no Patriot Act. I myself have spoken to members of Congress who said to me ‘I didn’t know the Patriot Act let federal agents write their own law, their own search warrants. I would never have voted for it if I knew that.’ Then I ask them a question that I already know the answer to. “Did you read it before you voted for it?” The answer is no. What did they read? They read the summary. Who prepared the summary? The summary was prepared by the Justice Department. Well the Justice Department wants these powers. They are not going to tell what they are. So, (A) we have a government that doesn’t respect the constitution, (B) we have a government that assaults the constitution, (C) we have a government that assaults the Constitution without even understanding what it’s doing to assault the Constitution, and (D) we have less freedom with every tick of the clock. But when people understand the natural law, understand the dangers of positivism, understand how dangerous a government can be when it can write any law, address any problem, enact any remedy, it’s a step in the right direction. Understanding is always a step in the right direction.

Porque es aterrador como desbalanceado el cuerpo de Cristo se ha convertido La mayoría de las Iglesias se centran en una de estos dos campeones del mundo. Algunas Iglesias viven para evangelizar mientras otras se dedican a discipular. Terminan 100 millas de ancho y 1 pulgada de profundo O’ 40 pulgadas de profundo y 1” de ancho. El reto viene cuando tratas de hacer los dos. Dios ha diseñado a su Iglesia para tener un balance! Recientemente una de sus vacas tuvo gemelos. Los gemelos parecían y actuaban muy diferente. Uno de ellos era salvaje, corriendo a través de la cerca cada vez que alguien se acercaba (parece evangelistico no es así?) Mientras el otro era más pegado a la madre (como un buen discípulo). Sin embargo la misma madre fue capaz de criar ambos terneros. Cualquier vaquero que ha criado gemelos te dirá que no todas las vacas pueden tolerar esto. Usualmente el ternero más agresivo crece grande y el otro se queda atrás. Aun cuando la madre tiene suficiente leche para ambos, ella pierde mucho peso para dar un soporte efectivo.

apóstol fundador de la Iglesia. A través de estos dones el Espíritu Santo entrena y habilita a los poderosos guerreros de Dios para invadir, ocupar e influenciar al mundo para Cristo. POLÍTICA Y LA NATURALEZA GOBERNANTE DEL CRISTIANO
Un día recibí un correo diciendo: “Jonás, predica el evangelio solamente y retírate de la política.” Usted también podrá recibir sugerencias como esta de amigos y familiares que le aprecian. Esta fue una propuesta muy interesante que me trajo muchas preguntas a la mente. Por ejemplo,

que es la política? Deberíamos como creyentes, quedarnos fuera? Examinemos la recomendación del personaje más detenidamente.
Para redactar la sugerencia necesitamos
sacar la definición de política. Política no es solo votar en las elecciones locales o nacionales por un candidato Demócrata o Republicano. La definición de política es esta: El gobierno de los asuntos de los hombres. Todos debemos de parar un momento y digerir esta definición.
La palabra política es usada con frecuencia
intercambiablemente con Gobiernos Locales, Estatales o Federales. Esto es un error porque la política no es limitada a esas arenas. Política, el gobierno de los asuntos de los hombres, es practicado en corporaciones, en la iglesia, en la familia y cualquier otra organización de hombres trabajando por un propósito común. Si política es el gobierno de los asuntos de los hombres, entonces como un ciudadano del Reino de Dios puede evitar el ambiente político? La respuesta es no. La política es una parte integral dentro del Evangelio de Cristo. Por lo tanto, esta definición tiene una sola conclusión para el ciudadano nacido de nuevo del Reino de Dios. El Evangelio de

nuevas creaturas, deben escoger someterse a ser gobernados voluntariamente. Cuando lo hacen bendiciones del convenio son manifiestas. Si no lo hacen, ya sea por ignorancia de la Palabra o por rebelión las bendiciones del pacto son retenidas.
El evangelio del Reino es dado, y por la
virtud del diseño gobierna dentro de los asuntos de los hombres porque consiste de dos elementos básicos, autoridad y poder. Las leyes de Dios son dadas para ayudar a guiar nuestras vidas a justicia, para mantenernos fuera de peligro y para que podamos llenar el mandato de Dios de ser productivos, crecer, subyugar y tener dominio (Génesis 1:2). Porque servir a Dios es voluntario es posible romper sus leyes y sufrir las con secuencias. Cuando las Leyes de Dios son violadas, por ejemplo, la ley siempre esta activa-estés o no de acuerdo con la Palabra de Dios-como lo que siembras cosechas. Así pues la Ley de Dios hace lo que es mandado a hacer. Aunque la persona se someta o se rebele la ley produce consecuencias.
Mientras el mundo cae en un abismo de confusión y caos ellos finalmente se volverán a Dios buscando por liderazgo. El liderazgo vendrá a través de la Iglesia de Cristo y su gente. Jesucristo es un evangelio político. Tú no puedes separar, por ejemplo, el Evangelio de Cristo del gobierno de los asuntos de los hombres.
No solamente es el evangelio una fuerza
política, Cristo tiene un Reinado y una Iglesia. Dentro de la Iglesia reside su gobierno, leyes, Espíritu y ciudadanos representativos. La iglesia es el asiento de autoridad gubernamental en la tierra (Génesis 28:17). Cuando atiendes la iglesia correcta tu puedes ser habilitado y equipado para el avance del Evangelio del Reino. La Iglesia que Cristo está construyendo no puede ser vencida. Reinos han venido y se han ido a través de la historia pero la Iglesia de Cristo permanece.
DIVISIÓN DE GOBIERNO: AUTORIDAD Y PODER. En la República la Constitución de los Estados Unidos divide autoridad y poder a través de varias ramas de gobierno el ejecutivo, legislativo y judicial. A los elegidos como líderes políticos se les otorga ciertos poderes y se les da autoridad para ejercitar
la ley dictada por la Constitución. En el Reino de Dios, en cambio, la palabra de Dios es la regla de la Ley. A diferencia del gobierno de los Estados Unidos los ciudadanos del Reino de Cristo no pueden elegir a su líder.

cambiado por otro aunque sea por unanimidad. El es el fundador y Rey. El también es Supremo. Como ciudadanos del Reino de Dios sin embargo, ellos pueden compartir en Su delegado poder político. (Gobernando en los asuntos de los hombre) y usar su delegada autoridad a como es deletreada en Su Palabra. Jesús dijo, por ejemplo, “Les doy a ustedes autoridad…” (Lucas 10:19) y “cualquier cosa que ates en la tierra es atada en el cielo” (Mateo 16:19).

De manera que cada vez que la gente sugiera que te mantengas alejado de la política recuerda que Jehovah tiene una expectación de sus hijos e hijas.
