(16.92), two over 400 metres at Richmond (22.68) and one each over 520 metres at Wentworth Park (30.11) and Shima litter 460 metres at Warragul (26.44). Suzanne’s second Barcia Bale litter has two dogs Shima Song, with part and two bitches, from the Group 2 Dapto Puppy Classic Owner David Gleeson finalist, Pippa Pepper (November 2013 Collision x Scavenger Hunt), whose dam is by Where’s Pedro x Miss Match (Primo Uno x Chantelly’s Fame). She raced 17 times, for five wins and three placings, winning twice over 520 metres at Dapto (30.16), where she also won over 297 metres (16.92), with wins over 520 metres at Wentworth Park (29.79) and 520 metres at Nowra (30.02). Suzanne also has a litter of one dog and three bitches on the list this week, by My Boy Fabio x Zipping April Plenty of Noise NEXT we have a litter of five dogs and four bitches, registered by Missditdazza Syndicate Manager, Michael Cullen, by Barcia Bale from the very well bred bitch and very good producer, Full Noise Turbo (August 2009 Bombastic Shiraz x Sionara Baby), whose dam is by Big Daddy Cool x Dash Of Burgundy (Royal Assassin x Minnesota Babe) and worth recalling, Minnesota Babe is by Balligari* x Gravel Rash. Full Noise Turbo is from an all winning litter of ten and her dontribution was 42 starts for ten wins and six placings. She won over 595 metres (34.53) and 715 metres (42.36) at Sandown, 515 metres (30.37) and 731 metres (44.07) at Angle Park and also over 525 metres at The Meadows (30.64), 520 metres at Geelong (30.55), 520 metres at Cranbourne (30.84) and twice over 570 metres at Horsham (33.40). She has been a great success already as a brood bitch with winners from her first two litters, whelped in February 2014 by, Premier Fantasy*, and January 2015, by Oaks Road, then she whelped at litter of four dogs and one bitch in February 2017 by Magic Sprite, so she certainly has done well to date.
DAVROB Syndicate Manager, Robert Cummings has the final Barcia Bale litter from this week’s list. The two dogs and seven bitches are from the very well bred, Group 2 Geelong Cup and Group 2 McKenna Memorial winner, Shima Song (May 2014 Dyna Tron x Shimaguni), whose dam is by Primo Uno x Messines (Carnage x Come Uppance). She is from a litter of six with five winners who won 55 races from which she was the standout, with 65 starts, for 28 wins and 21 placings, which earned connections $288,475 in stakes. She had P.B winning times of 29.30 and 34.12 at Sandown and in addition to her two Group wins, she ean second in the 2016 Group 1 Maturity, third in the 2016 Group 2 Shepparton Cup, Group 3 Ambrasoli and Group 3 Racecallers and was a finalist in the 2016 Group 1 Peter Mosman Classic and 2016 Group 1 Adelaide Cup. She certainly had a huge presence on the track and looks set to do the dame in the breeding barn. Good luck to her owners, David Gleeson and Robert Cummings and I certainly hope you one anywhere near as good as her from this litter.

Lucky 13 Geoffrey? PAKENHAM SOUTH breeder, Geoffrey Scott-Smith has a nice litter of 13 pups on the list this week by beautifully bred stud prospect, Shima Bar (February 2015 Barcia Bale x Shimaguni). Shima Bar Shima Bar won the Group 1 Paws Of Thunder and the Western Derby at Ballarat in his brief career of just 17 starts, which produced ten wins. Geoffrey’s litter of seven dogs and six bitches, are from the very well bred bitch, Dundee Mist (December 2013 Fabregas x Dundee Rose), whose dam is by Where’s Pedro x Cora Bale (Droopys Kewell* x Andra Bale). She is from a nice litter of seven named, which produced six winners, led by Dundee Osprey, who raced 61 times, for 21 wins and 20 placings and Dundee Cobra, who raced 78 times, for 13 wins and 27 placings. Her 14 starts, resulted in three wins and seven placings, with two wins over 715 metres at Sandown (42.61 and 42.33) and a win over 520 metres at Cranbourne (31.16).
Fiery litter of eleven GT FAST Syndicate Manager, Tony Gordon has our final litter for review this week, which has three dogs and eight bitches (prospective brood bitches), by under -rated sire Nolen (November 2009 Bombastic Shiraz x Brooklyn Belle). The well bred youngsters are from the beautifully bred bitch, Fiery Ann (January 2011 Velocette x Lee Joy), whose dam is by Brett Lee x Winsome Joy (History Lesson x Winsome Dollars). She is from a litter of three named, which included Miss Tahbilk, 2-1-0-0 and Ninja Backman, 63 -14-7-9. She raced 43 times, for nine wins and 15 placings, winning three times over 300 metres at Healesville (16.72), where she also won three times over 350 metres (19.48), twice over 450 metres at Shepparton (25.70) and she led all the way in a 30.65 (B30.24) win over 525 metres at The Meadows. She has one previous litter on file, with six dogs and five bitches, by Nolen, whelped in March 2016 so she certainly has been a prolific breeder so far. Her dam, Lee Joy also produced winners from a March 2010 litter, by Elite State and has one named on file, Fiery Nell, from her March 2013 litter, by Australian Cup winner Dyna Lachlan.
Group 1 Maturity Stake winner, Mepunga Blazer June 2015 Barcia Bale x Mepunga Nicky) has hit Meticulous lodge and he has breeder, owner and Hall of Fame inductee Barry Smith more than excited about his future. The son of Australia’s leading sire, Barcia Bale and Mepunga Nicky retired a winner of 11 races from 22 starts (five minor placings) and $161,630 in prize money with his biggest career win being the 2017 Group One Maturity Classic at The Meadows. Australia’s premier stud master Paul Westerveld showed immediate interest in Mepunga Blazer following his first city win at Sandown where he stopped the clock in a best of the night 29.23 seconds. “I have been around a long time and I am confident that he will succeed as a sire. I am really excited about what he can do,” owner and breeder Barry Smith said. “His breeding was a huge reason behind Paul’s interest. Both of his parents are group one winners and the line has been successful for 50 years,” Smith said. Mepunga Blazer’s bloodlines include Premier Fantasy, Go Wild Teddy, Brett Lee, the great Temlee and of course Barcia Bale. “His lines are outstanding, and I don’t think there is a better line going around,” Smith said. Smith believes that Mepunga Blazer’s speed and his hardchasing ability is a huge reason to breed from him. “I already have a couple of broodies waiting to come in season so I can use him. I can use the Mepunga Diva side with him which includes Mepunga Mia and Mepunga Rose so there is hopefully plenty of exciting times ahead.” Mepunga Blazer, who was trained at Anakie by Jeff Britton, will stand at stud for a starting price of $1650 and will likely be available to breeders beginning this month. Joining Mepunga Blazer in retirement is one of greyhound racing’s most durable campaigners, 2016 Group 2 McKenna Memorial winner, Bruce Tycoon. Bred by Charlie Micallef, Bruce Typhoon’s racing career began on 19 December, 2014 and saw him greet the starter 130 starts for 36 wins, 39 minor places and $271,765 in prize money. “He’s always got a shine in his coat and I find that with a lot of good dogs that race a long time, they don’t stress. Fanta Bale is exactly the same,” said trainer Robert Britton. “I’m certain at times he wasn’t the best dog in the race, but he would eye ball them and they’d just give in.”
