Fantastic litter THIS week’s review of litters selected from the NSW Whelping Report for the week ending 11 February starts with a nice litter of eight pups by Group 3 Healesville Cup winner, Allkel To Excel (February 2013 Elite State x Kingsbrae Di). Registered by the Bigger Than Life Syndicate, from Windsor, the one dog and seven bitches are from the well bred bitch, Fantastic Shelly (April 2014 Swift Fancy x Light Fantastic), whose dam is by El Galo x Dark Marne (Solve The Puzzle x Twirly Girl). She is from a litter of three named, which included Fantastic Bear, 28-6-6-3 and Fantastic Polar, 19-6-7-4. Her race record shows she only had one start, when fourth over 460 metres at Warragul in February 2017, beaten 5.8 lengths in the race won by Rapanui Revival (26.49).
Collision litter of thirteen Collision August 2001 Awesome Assassin x Rumble Spirit
Don’t Knocka Him FAIRY HILL breeder, Helen Ross, certainly has her hands full with a litter of fourteen pups by Golden Easter Egg winner, Don’t Knocka Him (November 2009 Knocka Norris x Surf Queen). The nine dogs and five bitches are from the beautifully bred bitch, Jimary Magic (June 2014 Bit Chili x Harpo Lady), whose dam is by Bond x Al Fresco (Royal Pilgrim x Prize Dancer). She was the standout in her litter of eight named, from which the seven who raced were all winners. Her race record reads, 16 starts, for six wins and three placings, with two wins over 484 metres at Casino (28.03), where she also won over 411 metres (23.91) and won over 407 metres at Grafton (23.30), 525 metres at The Meadows (30.39) and 515 metres at Sandown (29.63). Certainly plenty to like about the breeding of this litter, Helen, which should attract plenty of interest, especially the five bitches, if prospective buyers have future breeding in mind, these look like ideal types. Good luck with this huge litter which has obviously been keeping you busy.

Sandown Speed Star Elevated v My Redeemer one of many highlights on action-packed Speed Star night By Andrew Copley
My Redeemer
inside draw but she hasn’t had a 500m run for five weeks so she is slightly underdone,” he said. David Geall, trainer of My Redeemer, said little separated the pair: “They’ll be going neck and neck early, and whoever can pinch half a length break will probably win.” Greyhounds qualify for Speed Star night based on their times at Sandown Park in 2018, with matches to be run over 515m, 595m and 715m. TAB is offering a range of different markets including head-to-head multis, which greyhound will run the fastest first sectional, the exact times greyhounds will run, whether a track record will be broken and more. Speed Star Form guide: http://www.grv.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/ Speed-Star-Form-Guide-May-2018-V4.pdf
Greyhound racing’s newest and most exciting format, the Speed Star, will take over the entire card at Sandown Park on Thursday night.
Speed Star head-to-head markets: https:// www.tab.com.au/sports/betting/Racing%20Extras/ competitions/Speed%20Star%20Head%20To% 20Heads
Forty of Australia’s fastest greyhounds are set to race head-to-head in 20 match races, with a match approximately every eight minutes.
Speed Star extras markets: https://www.tab.com.au/sports/betting/Racing% 20Extras
Punters are a one in two chance of picking a winner, with a popular betting option being multi’s - very similar to backing a few teams across a weekend of football. Perhaps the most anticipated match is between Elevated and My Redeemer, who are the two fastest greyhounds over 515m at Sandown Park in 2018, with just 0.007 seconds separating them.
Mick Floyd’s suggested Speed Star multi: Not Available $1.30 (v Leo’s Gift) Poke The Bear $1.40 (v Dyna Patty) My Redeemer $1.75 (v Elevated) Dyna Chancer $1.30 (v Magic Will)
Elevated’s trainer Harry Manolitsis is cautious about his charge’s chances tomorrow night.

Greyhounds in the home FOSTER A GREYHOUND: There are many greyhounds who need a little more assistance to help them settle into pet life They fall into two categories Greyhounds who are transitioning from the track and need help to pass their GAP assessment OR Those dogs who have been a marginal fail at their GAP assessment These dogs are just gorgeous happy greyhounds, the only difference is that need a little more help to transition into pet life The reality is that without foster carers some of these dogs are at risk If you would like to change the life of beautiful dog contact Rebecca and join her team ____________________________________________
