The
Wedding Alley
Inspirational ideas, elegant fashions and unique accessories for discerning brides. Welcome to the second edition of The Wedding Alley! We’ve really enjoyed creating this edition. It has been such a pleasure to work with a range of amazing designers, each with their own talents and stunning gowns. Our main shoot for this edition was captured at the wonderful Pullman Hotel. Located in Brisbane CBD this central hotel has a wonderful history and was a joy to collaborate with. Our contributors are varied and really so gifted. I would like to specially thank Shelley Veitch from Elite Freelancing for her stunning hair and make up. It’s always a pleasure to work with a professional, but Shelley is an amazing talent and we always enjoy a fun, relaxed day working together. All I can say is ‘highly recommended’. We hope you love this edition as much as we have enjoyed creating it. Our aim is to cut through the clutter of the usual ad-centric bridal magazine and provide an inspiring digital experience featuring amazing gowns and elegant accoutrements in stunning settings. We’re intrigued with today’s weddings and our gorgeous brides. We value your feedback and thank all of our facebook, instagram, tweeters and pinterest followers for their support. Stay in touch with social media, and check in with our website for regular wedding inspiration. After all, we’re all allowed to dream... www.theweddingalley.com.au

Traditions
Something blue
21
Gown and blue belt (worn on wrist) When Freddie Met Lilly Jewellery LaPapeterie
Are you a traditional bride incorporating something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue in your wedding? If you are, do you know where this tradition comes from? It stems from an old English rhyme “Something olde, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a silver sixpence in your shoe.” As tokens of love family members and the bride’s attendants gave old, new, borrowed, and blue items and a sixpence to the bride on her wedding day for good luck just before her marriage. Many brides today are incorporating the old, new, borrowed, and blue items into their wedding day. Join the conversation on facebook and let us know what traditions you are incorporating in your day.

Naturally Lacy
Earthy, natural elements highlighted with lace
A simple but earthy theme using natural browns. The use of twine on recycled wine bottles and Kraft paper invitations brings in a raw, organic component. The coarse mood is then lifted with a hint of feminine lace. The carefree, fresh feeling continues with white native flowers in rescued jars. This idea could be a great DIY project. Any excuse to collect empty wine bottles is always a good idea. And the native flowers we used lasted for weeks so you can prepare well in advance with little last minute preparation required. You can view the LaPapeterie website for some pointers on achieving this look. www.lapapeterie.blogspot.com.au
