Theme and Details: Rustic Textures

Drawing on the wooden elements in thedining room and everything Mother Naturehad to offer, this wedding was filled withshades of green that contrasted beautifullywith the white flowers such as roses andbaby’s breath. Other decorative detailsincluded bricks in lieu of vases for the tablecentrepieces, and twine and fabric mixed inamong the vines, leaves, ferns and flowersto add a rustic feel. Bringing it all together,of course, was the casual and joyful natureof this celebration of love!

I was so glad that everyone was happy and sharing our special moment of walking down the aisle and exchanging our vows and rings.

Venue: A Little Farm On The Hill, Janda Baik

“Without soil, there can be no life. It is thefood and song by which we live. It is thegreat connector of lives, both the source anddestination of all” – this is the philosophybehind A Little Farm On The Hill. Set amidst therolling hills of Janda Baik, it is a real farm thathosts dinners and lunches that are prepared usingthe produce that they grow themselves. For thebridal couple, it made sense to celebrate theirlove at this beautiful, intimate and cosy venue.

Jean: “I chose this venue because most of us areusually so busy with everyday life that we forgetto stop and appreciate the beauty of nature.”

Ceremony

Exchanging their vows in front of their loved ones, Jean and Ryan opted for a traditional yet casual vibe, with the bride and groom wearing a dress and suit respectively. Their bridal party, too, kept things casual, with sweaters over shirts for the groomsmen and blouse and midi-skirt ensembles for the bridesmaids. Providing the focal point of the ceremony was a beautiful boho arch made out of wood, twine and flowers, and it was under this that the newlyweds said ‘I do’ and shared their first kiss as man and wife.

Reception

Keeping with the rustic theme of greenery and wooden textures, the reception meal was served on long tables with simple decorative additions such as twine, bricks in lieu of vases for the table centerpieces, and a lot of ferns and vines. It was such a joyous and fun-filled party that there was no need for anything more elaborate, really.
