After attempting to get married 3 times during COVID, it finally happened! Our wedding definitely wouldn't have been what it was without the help of our family. The first two wedding plans were at a golf course but with all the restrictions and lockdowns in Ontario, they were unable to hold our wedding and it was cancelled due to a stay-athome order. Back to the drawing board we went. I'm so thankful we did! We decided to reschedule our wedding "one last time" to August 20th. It was the only available date left in the summer. It also happened to be my mom's birthday which made a great gift. Our ceremony was at my family cottage on a cliffside overlooking the lake just on the outskirts of Grand Bend. It is a small cottage and could only seat our family. Friends were able to watch the feed over Facebook live and joined us after at my parents property in Poplar Hill, just 20 minutes away for dinner and dancing. I think our wedding was the best arrangement ever. It had an intimate feel for the ceremony and yet for the party, it WAS a party! The DJ definitely played some amazing tracks and lit up the dance floor. We even had a dance battle! How many weddings can say they can pull that off?!?! Our overall wedding was an absolute dream that I wouldn't change in any way. The girls got ready at my mom's house, which I always thought was the cutest idea. Mimosas, charcuterie and girly chatter. A close friend made all of our breathtaking florals. We drove in a stretch limo to overlook the water and were married on a cliffside. How romantic is that?! My uncle was also the one to marry us which was really sentimental to us and we'll forever cherish. Our reception was equally as picturesque. Having a big white tent out in a field along with willow trees around with twinkling lights and a wooden bridge leading up to the tent. A true fairy tale! This day was so beyond beautiful and it wouldn't have been the same without all our family and friends who helped along the way to make this beautiful day happen."- A BIGGEST CHALLENGE: "Our biggest challenge overall, was just getting married! Thanks to our lovely friend COVID, we attempted to get married three times. 3rd times the charm they say!"- A ADVICE: "If I can give any advice to future couples, it would be to not sweat the small stuff. Things are going to change at with a moment's notice and go unplanned whether you like it or not. So you might as well roll with the punches. Countless times things would change on us. Just smile, pivot and carry on. No matter what happens it will be a beautiful day because it's your special day."- A •
