The hotel has seen many of the epochal events in South Africa‘s history. The elegant structure—a perfect synthesis between what were originally the Reserve Bank and Board of Executives (BoE) buildings, and a modern tower—combines the legacy of a bygone era with the luxury of the new. Taj is optimally positioned to immerse guests in the intoxicating energy of the city. Opening onto the bustling St George‘s Mall, it‘s nearby many of Cape Town‘s foremost attractions and foodie destinations, along with a multitude of historical hot spots, galleries and boutiques. The Silo Hotel The Silo Hotel sets a new standard for luxury Cape Town hotel accommodation. A magical hotel towering above the V&A Waterfront surrounded by the natural wonder of South Africa‘s Mother City. The Silo has been built in the grain elevator portion of the historic grain silo complex occupying six floors above Zeitz MOCAA (Museum of Contemporary Art Africa). Zeitz MOCAA houses Africa‘s largest collection of contemporary African art. The exterior of the building was designed by Thomas Heatherwick, Founder and Principal of the London-based Heatherwick Studio. From the outside, the greatest visible change to the building‘s original structure is the addition of the ingenious glass windows inserted into the geometry of the hotel floors. These multi-faceted windows bulge outward as if gently inflated. By night, this transforms the building into a glowing beacon in the Table Bay harbour. The Silo Hotel has 28 rooms, including a spectacular one bedroom penthouse. Each room has been individually designed and decorated by the stylish wand of Liz Biden. Colourful and eclectic pieces juxtapose the modern, industrial architecture. The 6 room categories are based on the room size and the views. The images and floor plans below are indicative of the category only. We cannot guarantee a particular room (other than the penthouse), only the room category.

Our menu is based on classic, locally sourced ingredients, served in creative flavour combinations and served with an inventive, modern edge. The simple menu changes every day according to availability of ingredients. Farm produce, from honey and yoghurt to guinea fowl and pastureraised beef and lamb; organic vegetables, such as kohlrabi and Jerusalem artichokes. You‘ll also find some new dishes never before seen on a local menu like Brandy & Coke ice-cream, liquid popcorn and more.

We like to surprise our guests, that‘s why you‘ll find that our menu lists only the ingredients with no indication of how your meal will be prepared or which ingredients dominate (of course, if you ask, we‘ll gladly tell you more).
At the Foodbarn Restaurant Noordhoek, we serve the food that our Chef Franck Dangereux is famous for… delicious and decadent ‗casual fine-dining‘ in a relaxed and characterful old barn. At the Foodbarn Deli during the day, you are invited into our ‗home-fromhome‘ by the tantalising aroma‘s of the fresh bread and the best coffee in the Noordhoek Valley, the uber friendly and caring service, chef Sheila‘s delicious creations.
At night the Deli is transformed into a delightful Tapas Bar serving inspired dishes with amazing textures and flavours. Pop in with friends to enjoy tasty bites with your favourite wine or beer.

Chef Julia Hattingh‘s 18-seat table d‘hôte restaurant in Observatory serves a 5-course chef‘s choice dinner and is, in her own words, her ―daydream come true‖. At the dinners (that are frequently booked weeks in advance), Hattingh displays her skills, gained with time spent in local and renowned French kitchens, through intensely flavourful dishes. The menus rotate often and are crafted to pair with a selected winery‘s offering – a new winery is chosen every few weeks. The simplicity of presentation sometimes belies the numerous steps in preparation, with several slowcooked dishes having begun their lives the day before.

Leinster Hall is now home to The Stack – private members club and public brasserie. The illustrious 160-year old lady has been given a second youth, a coiffe and polish that sees her Georgian structure and Victorian fretwork shining. She knows a club of note when she sees one, The Cape Town Club having had its time there, and gracefully survived a serious blaze just after The Stack moved in. She is back, she has a story to tell and a lot longer life to live yet. The Stack was born on a fragrant afternoon in the monsoon season. Rain and gin flowed, as did the imaginations of Nigel and Sarah Pace.

Mombo Okavango Delta, Botswana Long known as ―the Place of Plenty,‖ Mombo boasts enormous concentrations of plains game and predators and is considered to be one of the best areas for game viewing in Africa. Rebuilt in 2018, Mombo aims to maintain the traditions and history of the camp, as well as to celebrate our Conservation Purpose – indeed, one of our greatest conservation successes: the reintroduction of black and white rhino into the wilds of Botswana. The nine spacious tents afford sweeping views over a floodplain teeming with wildlife. The sitting room, separate bedroom and bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers and bathtub with copper and brass fittings all contribute to the Wilderness ideal of responsible luxury. The Mombo Concession is known as ―the Place of Plenty,‖ highlighted by the massive concentrations of plains game and predators that live here. These include all the big cats, of which lion sightings are frequent. Leopard, spotted hyaena, large herds of buffalo, elephant, giraffe, blue wildebeest, Burchell's zebra and more abound, while cheetah and wild dog sometimes move through the area. It is here that black and white rhino were first reintroduced into the Delta, to be seen occasionally by a lucky few.

Khwai Tented Camp Botswana Khwai Tented Camp is located on a beautiful site within this community-run concession on the eastern border of the Moremi Game reserve, on the banks of a lagoon flowing into the Khwai river, which acts as a boundary between the reserve and the community area. The camp offers visitors several unique ways to experience Africa. Besides the day-time drives which can feature Africa‘s big attractions – lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo and giraffe – guests at Khwai Tented Camp are able to explore nature after sunset with a night drive. This activity, along with the guided walking safaris, is not usually permitted in the National Parks or Game Reserves, and allows guests to get an up close and personal experience with some of Africa‘s nocturnal and / or more elusive animals. The camp also provides the opportunity to explore the great stands of leadwood and mopane woodlands as well as open grasslands and banks of the Khwai River on foot. The camp preserves the romance of yesteryear, a simpler life in harmony with nature. There are no permanent structures; everything can be removed to leave the wilderness exactly as we found it, minimizing our impact on the environment. Guests can enjoy spacious and comfortable tented accommodation, beds and private en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets.

Pakamisa Private Lodge In August 1996 Isabella Stepski fell in love with the unspoilt Pakamisa Mountain in Northern KwaZulu-Natal. By September the land was bought and then the hard work began! In the first year they established the infrastructure with 52kms of dirt roads, and secured the 2,500 hectare park with 24kms of fencing. Pakamisa Private Game Reserve, which was once a cattle farm, is now pristine Savannah and Bushveld. In December 1997 the superior stables were completed and Isabella‘s precious Arabian stud horses, imported from Spain, were in residence. Perched on the edge of a magnificent mountain range, the ‗Spanish Ranch meets African Bush‘ styled lodge took four years to construct. Local stone and materials were hauled up the perilous dirt road, and finally in January 2001 the elegant lodge, reflecting Isabella‘s warm personality, welcomed its first guests. Isabella has stocked the reserve with indigenous animals, steering clear of predators and dangerous beasts such as buffalo, to allow guests, horses and animals to live in safety and harmony. Pakamisa is a private, exclusive reserve open to residential guests only. Majestically perched on the high plateau of the Pakamisa Mountain, the lodge has breathtaking views of the evergreen valleys and plains of the Pongola River to the east and the rolling hills of natural bush of the Reserve in the west. Limited to a maximum of 16 guests, the lodge offers a unique Spanish architecture, blended with the finest African ambience. Meet me at The Fairway Nestled away in the heart of the leafy suburb of Randpark you will find the beautiful Fairway Hotel Spa & Golf Resort. We recently had the pleasure of spending a night over at The Fairway Hotel & Spa, and what a truly wonderful treat it was. Attention to detail is clearly a top priority on meet and greet and we felt like we had just arrived home. Generous servings of fresh juice, flavoured water and muffins were offered to us whilst we checked in and the fireplace added that extra bit of romance to the rainy weather outside. The Fairway Spa overlooking the golf course offers every bit of pampered luxury you could wish for. Attentive therapists take the extra time to ensure you are comfortable throughout your treatment, leaving your mind, body and soul completely rejuvenated. Our luxurious bedroom with beautiful views of the golf course and roaming peacocks boasted every bit of opulence and tranquillity you could wish for including a complimentary mini bar. Dinner in the fine dining Balata Restaurant was a culinary delight, the rainy weather and crackling fireplace provided the perfect romantic palette. The menu offers a variety of dishes to suit every taste bud. Under the leadership of Chef Jean-Pierre Siegenthaler every dish from the Beef Carpaccio, succulent Rib-Eye to the ‘to die for‘ Amarula Malva dessert left us with a promise of ‗we shall return‘ satisfaction. What‘s a stay over at the Fairway without their scrumptious buffet breakfast? Croissants, pastries, imported cheeses, cured meats, smoked salmon, fluffy eggs, fresh juices, aromatic coffee, the generous array is endless……and we certainly dined like royal kings…. If your crazy schedule is getting you down and you‘re in desperate need for a quick time-out without having to drive for miles to reach, think no further than the Fairway Hotel & Spa tucked neatly away in suburbia. In 1993 I opened a small one-woman catering company in my friend‘s kitchen and called it By Word of Mouth. Word soon spread and today By Word of Mouth has become one of South Africa‘s premier catering and event companies recognised at home and abroad for quality food and excellent service. Over the years our clients have asked for take-home versions of our most popular meals. They wanted By Word of Mouth quality, conveniently delivered to their home, saving them time and the cost of doing it themselves. Requests ranged from meals to take on holidays, entertaining unexpected guests, treating oneself at home and for those delicate occasions when giving food is more practical than flowers. Finally, with our Frozen for You range, we can meet these needs more conveniently than ever. Frozen for You is based on the same values that helped establish the By Word of Mouth brand so many years ago – Simplicity, Generosity, Convenience and, most importantly, Quality. These values are at the heart of everything we do. This includes generous homestyle meals, made with quality ingredients, using simple traditional methods, conveniently delivered from our kitchen to yours. By Word of Mouth is a small family-owned company with traditional values, but we have big delicious plans and we look forward to taking you on our frozen adventure.

The inspiration behind Craft was driven by two nostalgic individuals, Jo Pinheiro & Chris Mandos, in a quest to develop a unique restaurant with words such as hand made, old school, authentic, attention to detail, artisanal and personal as a major part of the Craft vocabulary. "People want to be taken back to an era when one only bought ingredients and not mass produced meals, an era when craftsmen took immense pride in their vocations and things were made with love rather than measurement, with care rather than science, an era when quality and individuality was a common given". The focus is on individuality and hospitality and doing things old school in a modern way. The look has a hint of Steampunk complimented by natural elements: antique mirrors, natural woods, natural leathers, bentwood chairs, deep buttoned leather couches, face brick, parquet flooring, copper, stainless steel and retro tiles.

Senorita Sufuentez and Gordo were living in London. An odd place to be introduced to the intricacies of Mexican food, but the place nonetheless. Forever fans of tequila, their hearts were open to the barrage of burrito bars and Mexican eateries and oh how they indulged.
As they were driving down through Africa on their way back home, Senorita and Gordo reminisced over fire-roasted cheesy quesadillas and killer guac about tequila-fuelled nights with friends. The Mayan moon shone a bit brighter, the planets aligned and (cue angel song) new paths were planned. Luckily for them, the most excellent Veektor Sufuentez and Thompadre were vibeing on the same vibes down here back in the motherland. Mad Mexicans through and through, they too had a yearning for a Mexican revolution. The four decided to band-of-brother it up.

Our dishes are freshly prepared from quality spices imported from Ethiopia and locally sourced naturally grown ingredients, raised and grown without pesticides or antibiotics. We aim to introduce Ethiopian food to the broader public like other mainstream food that anyone can come in and eat at any time. Ask anybody, ―What does Africa mean to you?‖ and you‘re likely to provoke a strong response – good or bad. The truth is, Africa is not a continent that plays small or goes halfway, it is bold, unapologetic and wonderfully diverse. The world in a continent, Africa is many things to many people, but ultimately it is home when we acknowledge its significance as the birthplace of civilisation.

Tulia Zanzibar Unique Beach Resort Our independent resort was opened in 2015 however, the story begins in 2005, when the Czech owners decided to start their Zanzibar adventure with one goal in mind: to offer accommodation and service that will set the standard for luxury and elegance on Zanzibar Island. When personally designing the resort, they decided to build only 16 villas, to ensure maximum privacy and individual service. Their wish was to incorporate traditional Zanzibari pavilions with chic, modern elements, garden and ocean views, all filled with soft, natural light. When buiding the resort, the owners' wish was to give people jobs, instead of using machines. They have used as much local material, resources and manpower as possible. Some of the people working on the construction site are still working with us today. Tulia Zanzibar Unique Beach Resort * is located on the East coast of Zanzibar Island, at the famous Pongwe Beach, 39 km away from Zanzibar City. The resort was opened in 2015 and during it's only 2 years of activity, it was granted important awards in the Hotel Industry.
In 2017, the resort was awarded the title of TripAdvisor Excellency based on our Guests' reviews. Tulia Zanzibar Unique Beach Resort, Pongwe Pwani Zanzibar – Tanzania RESERVATION +255 773 409 377 reservation@tuliazanzibar.com
