Dear Parents,

Welcome to another great year of Westminster Summer Camps! Having completed the Love Hall building project, we are excited to announce a full 2025 season. We are pleased to offer many options that allow children and teenagers to enjoy the great outdoors without leaving Atlanta, as well as a full slate of specialty camps that let our campers discover or deepen their interests in a variety of skills and hobbies.

Favorite camps like Summer Day Camp and Theater are back! We also have some exciting new camps for your campers to try.

If you are new to Westminster camps, welcome! CampMinder will be your digital home for all things summer camp! Beginning January 8 for returning families and January 15 for new families, log into CampMinder to register. Please upload a recent photo of your camper and complete their health history section so we can best serve you this summer.

For families with children who registered last summer or have attended Summer Camps before, return to your CampMinder account using your login. Please make sure to update your camper’s photo as they have grown over the years and review their health forms.

Welcome to Summer Camps 2025!

A few additional notes:

Before care is available from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. for $50 per week at the summer day camp, 3255 Nancy Creek Road. Once you are registered, return to your CampMinder account to add before care under additional options. Campers will travel to their camps via bus or walking with a counselor. (Note: Cubby Camp before care is at Tull Hall).

After care is available from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. for $75 per week at the summer day camp, 3255 Nancy Creek Road. Once you are registered, return to your CampMinder account to add after care under additional options. Counselors and staff will transport campers to summer day camp, where parent pickup occurs by 6:00 p.m. Be sure to pack a snack and swim suit. (Note: there is no after care for Cubby Camp.)

Lunch is provided for all full-day campers and campers who have made a full day by combining two half-day options. However, if you would prefer to pack a lunch, feel free to do so. It must be NUT-FREE. Refrigeration is not available.

Due to the popularity of our summer camps, the following fees will be implemented:

At the time of registration, the $100 deposit is processed if a space is available. If you are placed on a waitlist no deposit is taken. We will contact you if a space becomes available to make certain your plans haven’t changed and you still want to attend the camp.

It’s getting warmer and summer is just around the corner! Join us for a jam-packed week filled with our most exciting themes and activities, and get an exclusive sneak peek into what’s new for Summer 2025! This week we will: check out some Epic Science to learn about magnetism and electricity, explore the exciting world of Nintendo, visit the prehistoric age of dinosaurs to examine fossils and cast our own, learn about rockets as we blast off into outer space, and much more.

JETS-Juniors in Engineering, Technology & Science

If your early learner is “feeling the need for speed,” then don’t let them miss this opportunity to experience our most popular STEM topics for early learners. Our Juniors in Engineering, Technology and Science (J.E.T.S.) will fly the skies like aviators, assemble vehicles like mechanics, program uncanny robots like technologists, conduct experiments like chemists, and observe the stars like astronomers.

TGA Premier Sports Medley

TGA Premier Sports medley camp is all about teamwork, agility, and game play. It’s excellent for younger kids who haven’t played organized sports before or are still beginner athletes. We work on sports skills relevant to various sports such as throwing, catching, kicking, running, dribbling, etc. We often do stations related to a specific sport and switch it up each day for a well rounded sports week.

Engineering for Kids

Young Engineers’ FUNdamentals

Did someone ask, “What is engineering?” The Young Engineers’ Workshop: FUNdamentals camp will use the engineering design process to explore different types of engineering such as aerospace, chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, marine, and mechanical! Using basic household and specialty supplies, the campers will build individual and group projects that float, fly, zoom, fizz, and hopefully stand strong. Engineering For Kids’ programs are Cognia STEM Certified, STEM.org Accredited, and aligned with National Teaching Standards.

Introducing New Camps for 2025!

Musical Theatre Showcase

Musical Theatre Showcase is a training experience designed for performers of all skill levels. Participants will receive expert instruction in acting and singing: students will explore character development, emotional investment, improvisation, and vocal technique, enhancing their stage presence and confidence. The program culminates in a live presentation for family and friends, allowing participants to showcase their talents in front of an audience. With a focus on creativity, technique, collaboration, and personal growth, this training program is the perfect place for young artists to take their musical theatre skills to the next level!

Rowing

This camp is for all levels of rowers, whether varsity or completely new to the sport, as well as coxswains. Varsity rowers will develop skills and fitness in boats of all sizes (1x, 2x, 4x, 4+, and 8+), and athletes new to the sport will learn how to row. There will be an option for athletes to race in up to two competitions (additional fee for travel, both races will be held in July).

There is a 2 week minimum signup and it does not have to be consecutive weeks. We will meet at Atlanta Rowing Club, no transportation will be provided. 500 Azalea Drive, Roswell, GA.

Salon Stylist

Campers will get an amazing opportunity to learn about hair care and styling through daily style challenges. We will use a portable mannequin to create amazing styles from buns, twists, or braids; along with demonstrating hair coloring on weft hair and clip-ons. Campers will have the opportunity to learn washing techniques, blow drying and diffusing on low heat or heatless, as well as test their creative ideas in design challenges.

Theatre and Musical Theatre Audition Technique: Levels One and Two

Unlock a passion for performance in our immersive musical theatre audition workshops! Designed for actors and singers, these dynamic workshops offer expert instruction from theater faculty and industry professionals. Participants will develop their skills through acting instruction, vocal coaching, and audition technique sessions. All students will leave with a monologue or song that is specifically chosen to showcase their individual skills. Whether your child is a seasoned performer or just starting their journey, our camp fosters confidence, talent, and a love for the arts.

Summer Day Camp

For more than 60 years, Westminster has offered a traditional day camp experience with the look and feel of a rural summer camp. Campers experience a variety of activities tailored to their grade level, interest, and ability. New, fun challenges await campers every day—including tumbling, archery, arts and crafts, canoeing, and more. You will find our secluded camp located at 3255 Nancy Creek adjacent to our main campus. The Day Camp facilities include an athletic field, outdoor pool, 2 canoe ponds, nature and craft cabins, ropes course, riflery range, archery range, and a covered picnic area. Lunch is provided, but campers may bring a lunch if preferred (all lunches must be nut-free). Register your child to join the generations of young people who have spent summers at Westminster Summer Day Camp.

Summer Adventure Camp

Ready for more adventure? Available for only rising seventh through ninth graders, this weeklong camp includes two days of intense team-building and outdoor skill practice at Westminster’s Summer Day Camp before campers head to north Georgia! Our three-day, twonight adventure will be packed with hiking, tent camping, outdoor cooking, and more—surrounded by some of the most picturesque scenery our state has to offer! This camp is limited to 10 campers per session. No previous camping experience is required. A faculty guide, two counselors, and a certified Wilderness First Responder will attend each overnight trip.

Summer Day Camps

Camp Wildcats

Wildcat campers participate in arts and crafts, sports and games, water play on the field, swimming at the camp pool on Wednesday and Friday, and nature discovery. With in-house field trips, the group is always learning and having fun. Group games and other activities take place in the Lower School gym making this an excellent choice for campers on the younger side not quite ready for a full day outdoors. The one-week schedule will allow campers to try different camps.

Cubby Camp

This action packed camp for 3- and 4-year-olds is held at Tull Hall on the Westminster Campus, just inside the back gate, and includes daily indoor and outdoor activities in arts and crafts, sports and games, sprinklers on Monday and Wednesday, swimming at the camp pool on Tuesday and Thursday, inflatable slide on Friday, and nature discovery. Our youngest Wildcats will have rest time each afternoon and should bring two nut-free snacks daily. Before care from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. is available for $50 per week; no after care is available for this camp.

Campers must be three by June 2 and fully potty trained. No swim diapers allowed.

Astronomy

Is your child interested in outer space? Do they look up at the nighttime sky and wonder what’s out there? Well then you might want to sign them up for an out of this world astronomy camp! Campers will learn about the planets, stars, constellations, galaxies, nebulas, comets, and so much more! The campers will learn to use a telescope to view the stars at night, build and launch a model rocket, and eat like an astronaut among other other fun activities! We hope you join us on our interstellar journey this summer!

Broadcasting Live on TV & YouTube

Is your child ready to showcase their talents on air and on camera? Or maybe they want to call the shots and run the show from behind the scenes? They can do it all at WCAT’s Broadcasting Camp. In this hands-on experience, campers will learn how to write, edit, interview, produce, direct, and announce live events. Working closely with WCAT anchors and editors, participants will practice playby-play and sideline reporting, hosting, studio production, and more. Campers will also discover how to use field reporting equipment and editing software.

Challenge Island

Week 3: Slimetopia: Slime Chefs on Deck: Get ready to stir up the most delicious-looking (not tasting) slime recipes on the Seven Seas! From ramen Noodle Slime to Sushi Rolls to Banana Split Slime this camp is a deliciously squishy, squashy, ooey, gooey, blast!

Week 3: STEAM Across the Universe: 3, 2, 1 BLASTOFF! Our team will create their own Mission Control Station and soar through the universe. They’ll learn the spectacular science of space while taking on a galaxy of cosmically cool challenges-from Rocket Launch Day to Moon Day to Intergalactic Day to Alien Day. Don’t miss out on this world of fun!

Week 4: Challenge Island: Shark Camp: It’s Shark Week at Challenge Island and what better way to celebrate than by bringing our Bridge to Sharktooth Island book to life. Campers will dive into the fascinating world of sharks and tackle an ocean full of shark-inspired challenges!

Week 4: Challenge Island Slimetopia: Slime Chefs on Deck: The world is being taken over by slime and our STEAM Teams will design Slimeliner Jets to fly them to a different slimy continent every day! They’ll mix up an amazing array of internationally-inspired slimes from Italian Pizza Slime to Taiwanese Boba Tea Slime to Sahara Sand Slime to Pacific Ring of Fire Slime to every squishy, squashy, wonderfully worldly slime in between!

Chess

Campers learn tactics and how to use a chess clock, play computer chess, and solve chess puzzles. They learn about and participate in different kinds of tournament play. This camp is ideal for campers who enjoy the popular game and would like to build their skills through lessons and competition. All levels welcome.

Middle school chess: join middle school students from Atlanta as you compete and hone your skills.

Summer Specialty Camps

Counselor-in-Training

Designed for rising ninth and tenth grade students who have not yet turned 16, this camp is an excellent introduction to camp counselor duties. Up to three CIT campers are admitted per week. While the CIT camp does not guarantee a counselor position in future years, it will help the camper determine where their interests lie.

Debate

This camp is an introduction for rising seventh through ninth graders who are considering competing in “policy” debate. Taught by one of our Upper School debate coaches, Matthew Munday, along with some of Westminster’s varsity debaters, students will develop their critical thinking skills, learn how to organize their thoughts and arguments, try some basic research, and, of course, debate each other.

Summer Specialty Camps

Dungeons and Dragons

Join the wonderful world of role play as your dungeon master (a.k.a. camp director) creates adventures galore. The first day, each camper will create a character and learn the established game parameters. Then the dungeon master will reveal play as the turns and twists occur at the roll of the dice. Each camper will receive a player handbook and have daily time outside. No previous experience needed for beginner camp.

Enjoy our enthusiasts D&D camp as requested by campers. This 2-week camp will allow for a more expansive experience for D&D fans of all kinds. Campers will have an opportunity to become a dungeon master and play a longer campaign.

Exploratory Fashion

Filmmaking For Real

Does your child aspire to become the next great film creator? In the Filmmaking summer camp, each student will have the opportunity to write, direct, shoot, and edit. Our film camp is designed for students with little or no filmmaking experience. The program focuses on the fundamental elements of visual storytelling and the basic skills of filmmaking, such as screenwriting, cinematography, directing, and editing. By the end of the program, students will have applied their newfound knowledge and skill set to complete their own short film.

In this camp students will make fashion out of unconventional materials such as paper, tape, cups, balloons, fibers, strings. Campers will also explore surface design changes with fabric dying, painting, stamping and distressing. This camp will focus on creating fun and funky designs that are outside of the standard idea of fashion. Campers will take home one art accessory at the end of the camp week. Campers will use sewing by machine, hand, and adhesives to construct their items.

Future Engineers

Future Egineers offers a new and unique theme each week. Campers are challenged with creative hands-on design challenges, projects, and friendly competitions. Rolling, jumping, and flying robots are used daily to conquer the daily quest. Teams of campers work together using both modern technology and crafty engineering to learn new skills and reach new heights.

Math Skills and Dollar Bills

This camp offers a unique opportunity for young girls to develop a strong foundation and build confidence in math through the lens of money. With a focus on reallife math practice and hands-on learning, campers will engage in activities that involve using money in various contexts. From making purchases at a simulated store to managing a budget, campers will gain practical experience and strengthen their understanding of important mathematical concepts.

Musical Theatre Camp

Our summer theatre camp is a fun day-long camp where students play theatre games and learn core performance skills while practicing scenes and songs culminating in a final performance. Every day focuses on one or two theatrical elements: acting technique, directing, playwriting, improv, singing, costumes, set design, marketing, audition technique, and puppetry, to name a few!

Roblox Creations Lab

Using Roblox Lua code to create 3D worlds, Roblox is an entertainment platform that allows campers to imagine, create, and play together across millions of user-created virtual worlds. By the end of the week, all campers will be able to publish/share and play games with friends on any platform. No prior experience is required. All technology is provided.

Summer Specialty Camps

Robotics

Robotics is offered to children, both beginners and experts, entering third through fifth grades. Campers work in teams of two to three, based on their age and level of experience. Campers have the option to use a blueprint to build a standard robot or design their own stable robot. Students will race through obstacle courses and against each other.

“Sew It All”

Led by by Fashion Workshops, this camp will focus on creating sewing projects such as: a pencil pouch, water bottle holder, ice cream pillow, or a shrug. Skills learned include hemming, encasing elastic, and mastering straight seams. Campers are able to build upon sewing skills every summer with the creation of new projects. All supplies, such as fabric and notions, are included in the camp registration cost.

Snacks and Science

Campers will have fun learning how to make tasty snacks, with some good old-fashioned hands-on stirring, turning, and of course taste testing! But why stop there? Campers will also explore the wonders of science through hands-on experiments integrated into the cooking activities. This camp is perfect for kids who love exploring, experimenting, and enjoying tasty creations!

Early Scientist (PreK–K): Is your early learner full of questions about how the world works? Then this camp is just for them! Campers will explore nature like biologists, run experiments like chemists, observe the stars like astronomers, measure our world like geologists, and understand the human body like physicians.

Early Tinkerers: Is your early learner full of creative energy? Then they won’t want to miss this camp! Epic Science: Get ready to dive into the Epic world of science! During this camp, we will jump through portals to arrive at the most interesting realms of science! Once we arrive, we will conduct exciting experiments and… unleash the forces of nature, build programmable LEGO® models, experience mind-bending chemistry, engineer chain reactions, and much more! Is your child ready to put your scientific skills to the test?

Camp Jurassic: Jurassic Fans… who’s ready to build the next great dinosaur park?! In this camp you will enter the world of the Jurassic Park franchise. Explore and take home fossils, learn about dinosaurs using AR technology and 3D printed specimens, operate and program hi-tech park systems like alarms and gyrosphere vehicles! Early Roboticist (PreK–1): Does your early learner ever wonder how robots work? This week they will become a roboticist and learn basic programming, logical thinking, block coding, and engineering to give them a foundation to build the world of tomorrow. Early STE(A)M Cuisine: Put on your aprons because it’s time to blend food and science together! In this program for early learners we will learn STEM fundamentals through scientific experiments with food! We will stimulate our taste buds, engage our curiosity, utilize scientific tools, express our creativity and expand our knowledge. Participants will learn valuable skills such as: following instructions, utilizing basic tools, colors and shapes, expressing sensory findings, creativity and experimentation.

Camp Nintendo: It’s-a-you with Mario! Welcome to the exciting world of Nintendo. In this camp we will enter the world of various Nintendo franchises. Once there, nothing can stop us, as we build physical levels and compete for the best score! Students will program their own video games, learn about computer graphics, design their own logo, learn about how physics is recreated in video games, solve puzzles along the way, and much more. This early learners camp has a particular focus on technology and teamwork.

GEMS — Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science

Level 1 & 2: Is your daughter ready to take GEMS to the next Level? This camp is all about helping girls excel in the STEM fields so they can be competitive in the 21st century. During this camp, we’ll dive deeper into technology, engineering, and creativity as we explore a variety of activities tailored to them! They will also learn about scientific accomplishments made by women, and support each other in their own path to achievement. This camp has a particular focus on science and leadership.

Boys and Girls Basketball Camp

This basketball camp is designed for boys and girls looking to elevate their game! Our camp offers core skills like dribbling, shooting, defense, and team play. With varsity coaches Alex Richey and Matt Hixenbaugh leading drills and activities, players will not only sharpen their individual techniques but also gain confidence and learn the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Each day is filled with a combination of skill sessions, scrimmages, and love for the game.

Dive Camp

Whether you’re perfecting your front dive, pike, or just learning to dive off a board, this camp is for you. All levels welcome and by working with the high school varsity coach and divers, your diving will improve. Our video technology on the pool deck helps provide additional feedback for further improvement on your form, position, and posture.

Football Camp

Join Adam Pullen, assistant varsity football coach, for a fun experience for all ages that includes specific skill training (passing, catching, route running, defensive technique and kicking) as well as competitive drills. Our goal is to grow the game of football through a healthy competitive atmosphere while teaching young athletes the importance of a team sport. This camp will allow any level of camper the opportunity to improve on basic skills or simply introduce the game of football. Camp counselors will include current and former Westminster Wildcat football players.

Girl’s Soccer

Join us for Girl’s Soccer camp, designed for athletes of all skill levels. Throughout the week we will work on skill development, strategy, scrimmages, and more. Led by Varsity soccer Coach Sharon Loughran and former players, this camp is perfect for players eager to improve their game, gain confidence, and have fun.

Golf

This camp is designed for players who are new or never played the game. The program includes 5–6 hours a day of golf instruction at Dogwood Golf Club. The day will consist of individual and group instruction along with introduction and teaching of the golf swing, course management, rules, and etiquette. This program is quick-moving and designed to keep the interest of this level of player. Join Andy Dunn, varsity golf coach, for a great day on the links.

Proper golf attire (a collared shirt and golf type shorts) is required; campers must provide their own golf clubs as rentals are not available.

Karate Camp

Gear up, young champions, and kick high! Let the martial arts games begin! Ninja fun or game activities with a martial arts twist are incorporated! Karate camp students begin each day with yoga to enhance flexibility and meditation to further focus the mind. Additional exercises for strength, balance, and agility are learned and practiced. Martial arts disciplines of Karate, Jujitsu, and Kung Fu are taught for beginners and for practitioners who want extra practice. KIA!

Soccer Camp

Led by Scott Snyder, Westminster’s nationally recognized coach, Snyder Championship Soccer Camps provide an outstanding soccer curriculum that is delivered in a way that is both challenging and fun. The week’s sessions combine technical training along with individual and team tactics in order for the player to progressively grow through the week. Monday through Thursday’s camp schedule consists of a morning curriculum that emphasizes individual development, lunch, individual contests, and then group work on team tactics that leads to the players putting their day’s work to use in small-sided games to end the day. Friday has the campers competing in their final contests along with the culmination of the weeklong tournament. All campers will receive a camp certificate and personal evaluation.

Swim Camp

This swim camp and stroke clinic with Westminster’s varsity swim coach Sharon Loughran is for swimmers of all levels. Levels include beginner swimmers, competitive swimmers and advanced competitive swimmers. The camp will focus on proper technique for each of the four strokes (breaststroke, freestyle, backstroke, and butterfly) along with critical starts and turns. Video sessions help provide additional feedback for further improvement. Teaching the fundamentals of flexibility, core strength, and body awareness in swimming is part of the daily training.

Tennis Camp

Based on the USTA Net Generation Kids program, this camp will help you learn or improve your tennis game. Each half-day session will work on strokes, serves, and returns as you volley with your fellow campers. Beginners to intermediate level campers will be divided according to their age and tennis level. The daily fun with counselors will culminate with prizes and popsicles.

Volleyball Camp

Led by Westminster varsity volleyball coach Jaime Maxey, with an emphasis on fundamental skill instruction (passing, serving, setting, digging, attacking, and blocking) for all levels of play, which enhances the overall understanding of how to play the game. Specialty skills sessions (setter, outside attacker, middle attacker, libero) are offered, which will allow the camper to sharpen the skills required in each position. The campers will play mini-games that emphasize different aspects of volleyball on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.

Wrestling

Wrestling Camp builds the fundamentals of wrestling on and off the mat. We will develop the same skills (balance, footwork, takedowns, and positional techniques) mastered by Westminster wrestlers. At the camp, we will teach basic techniques, play games for skill development, and host a tournament at the end of the session. Head wrestling coach L.B. Joel will focus on the values that have led Westminster wrestlers to success on and off the mat. As a sport and martial art, wrestling builds sportsmanship, confidence, and discipline.
