IS THE TIME

The Campaign for White Mountain

why

?

There has never been a time in our School’s history quite like this one. We have a vibrant community where students and faculty alike are inspired to grow through inquiry and engagement. The momentum at White Mountain is strong. Now is the right time to invest in today and prepare for tomorrow. Our Goal: $6.8 million Now Is the Time: The Campaign for White Mountain is the largest and most comprehensive campaign ever for our School. Each gift given between now and June 30, 2019 helps us fulfill the priorities of our Strategic Vision: 1 . People: Intellectual Excellence 2. Place: Community Vitality 3. Future: Financial Sustainability

Now is the time to invest in our students, our community and our future. Now is the time for White Mountain.

IS THE TIME TO INVEST IN

INTELLECTUAL

EXCELLENCE

Priority: People Our Vision: to be recognized as a leader in education— serving students as they develop into independent learners. Student-Driven Inquiry is the driving philosophy behind our approach to teaching and learning. We know, both from our experience and from the research, that students learn best when they are invested and find purpose in what they are studying. We need to ensure that students and faculty continue to have the resources to fully immerse themselves in inquiry and learning.

Now is the time to grow the Annual Fund, ensuring a yearly operating budget capable of supporting the excellence of our students and faculty. Support the people and programs of White Mountain today with an increased Annual Fund gift, a second gift, or a first-time gift! OUR STUDENTS White Mountain inspires students to live lives of curiosity, courage and compassion through a thoughtful, mission-driven, whole community curriculum.

...

Student-Driven Inquiry: White Mountain’s signature approach to teaching and learning.

...

The LASR Program: Expand opportunities for student projects in Leadership, Arts, Service and Research.

...

Essential Skills and Habits: Helping students succeed in college and beyond.

...

Scholarships providing opportunities for qualified students.

OUR FACULTY Our students deserve the very best faculty. Help us provide this through:

...

Recruitment and retention of the finest boarding school faculty.

...

Competitive salaries for our teachers.

...

Professional development opportunities to support the growth mindset needed to achieve White Mountain’s teaching and learning goals.

IS THE TIME TO INVEST IN

VIBRANT COMMUNITY LIFE

Priority: Place Our Vision: To nurture courage and compassion throughout our community, preparing and inspiring students to serve the greater good. Physical space affects personal interactions. Our community merits vibrant living and learning spaces to support the social, emotional and intellectual growth of all community members. Since the beginning of the campaign in 2016, White Mountain has raised more than $1.7 Million to fund capital improvements of academic and community spaces. Building a new dormitory is the next step in providing the spaces to nurture courage and compassion.

Now is the time to support additional needed facilities improvements that will further enhance the spirit of White Mountain. Your gift today can support completion of the new dormitory project. COMPLETED CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS INCLUDE:

...

Classroom and faculty office renovations in McLane and Wing support StudentDriven Inquiry.

...

McGoldrick Library and Research Center renovations create a vibrant learning space for student research and small group discussion.

...

The Lovejoy Chapel creates a light and open space for reflection, all-school Morning Meeting, and community events.

...

Construction of the Inquiry, Innovation and Impact Lab provides space for design and build projects, exploration and tinkering.

...

WHAT’S NEXT?

A new dorm: a nucleus fund of $1.2 Million has been raised for construction of a new dormitory. Your gift will help grow this fund. A new dorm will allow all students to live in center campus in comfortable, up-to-date and energy efficient spaces, add a few more spaces for boarding students to meet admission demand, and provide more oncampus, family-sized housing for our faculty and their families. This continuation of White Mountain’s campus master plan and the design of the new dorm intentionally nurture community at our School.

IS THE TIME TO INVEST IN

FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY

Priority: Future Our Vision: To secure the School’s future by increasing revenue for a mission-sustaining operating budget. People like what they’re seeing at The White Mountain School! Campaign support of the programs, people and places at White Mountain has strengthened our admission program. More students are applying to White Mountain, our student body is strong, and we are exceeding vital tuition goals. While strong admission today certainly helps our School tomorrow—tuition revenue alone cannot sustain our mission.

Now is the time to build a strong endowment for The White Mountain School, ensuring long-term financial security. You can make a contribution today or include White Mountain in your estate plans, establishing a promised gift in the future. WHY NOW? Campaign gifts and pledges to the endowment to date exceed $1.8 Million. Additional endowment gifts, pledges and planned gift intentions are needed to ensure our School’s long term future.

THE IMPACT OF YOUR ENDOWMENT GIFT:

...

Ensures regular funding levels for White Mountain’s departments, programs, and operations.

...

Helps families afford White Mountain by providing needed scholarships and aid.

...

Provides donors with an opportunity to create a legacy or honor a loved one and support the people and programs at White Mountain in perpetuity.
