Each summer, the Nassau County Library sponsors a summer reading program for kids and adults. This year, the theme is “Oceans of Possibilities.” Participating in a summer reading program is a good way to keep your kids reading and combat the dreaded “summer slide.” In fact, research says kids who read 20 minutes a day typically score in the top 90 percent on standardized tests (Scholastic).
