“man-made” is the latest issue of the photo e-magazine Jamais Vu. It showcases transformed panoramas within the framework of natural landscapes by Vacharanont Sinvaravatn, a young artist who focuses on landscape as a philosophical question about the space in which we exist. His compositions in a series of images also invite a conceptual discussion, as Vacharanont puts it - “From the human-made mining landscape, we move to a rural landscape, which undoubtedly involves human management of space. Yet, there’s another layer to consider: how does the ‘landscape’ engage with our thoughts and sense of identity in this world?” The work encourages a slow contemplation of the construction of the ‘natural’ as shaped by human intervention, inviting readers to reflect deeply.
